Last night I ran across a little interview with David Morrell that was conducted ringside at the Edgar Berlanga fight. The audio was bad — the crowd was drowning out much of the questions and answers — but David was clear when the interviewer asked him about Berlanga. He said it would take him “one round” to dispatch Edgar. That may be a little bravado, although Morrell seemed quite confident, but I can see him taking Berlanga out by the fifth round. Is not only Benavides, I feel bad for Morrell Jr, no one, no one want to fight him, he put the # 2 WBA ranked in Coma and beat the # 1 WBA ranked easily, he KO opponents in a destructive way, take no punishment, his fights look like if he is abusing his rivals, not competitive at all, right now he is a victim of his own success and with the PBC and Dazn rivalry to find opponents is super hard, Andrade's trainer said they won't fight Morrell, he said Morrell is a Young Killer, Berlanga also said no when they asked last week about a possible fight between WBA Top fighters, he said he is onto "bigger stuff" , Benavides prefer 37 years old beaten opponent knowing he won't get the winner of Bivol & Beterbiev cuz of the Promotion Issues between PBC and Dazn and Munguia is Golden Boy-Dazn, is out of reach for Morrell, Plant want to fight an easy fight(and I don't blame him) he wanted alcoholic and mental Charlo or Berlanga, he want no part of Morrell, Mbilli said last week he doesn't want to remain in WBA Ranks, I suspect is cuz would lead to Morrell Jr... Dazynian, Diego Pacheco and Sishin maybe but if Casuals don't know Lennox Allen and Aidos Yerbossynuly they may not know those 3 either, boxing is a joke this days, everybody is undefeated at SMW cuz they don't take risks, awful, is gonna take Morrell 2 years to force a decent opponent to fight him and I m counting with the WBA taking Canelo's belt for that, unless Morrell get the super Belt he will find no decent opponents

You must be a newer fan if you value records over quality opps. I was more impressed with sexy records when I was newer to boxing too, but a record is only as good as who you beat is the thing. And look Morrell is clearly a bad mfer, but dick measuring him vs Benavidez years ago when he was a teenager means nothing today when Morrell is in his mid 20s. Morrell is one year younger than Benavidez but more than a year behind him in accomplishments still. It is what it is. I m not a new fan brother, I really thought that Allen would be a competitive fight and with Aidos I thought he could lose but instead he put him on Coma, Cazares hold so much and fight so tricky that I never expected him to knock him out in 1 round and also with Adbeko and Gavrosky, you seen Adbeko highlights in YouTube? He looked strong and kind of technical, he was impressively fit too, but was not even a bit competitive, that made me like him more and more to the point that it looks to me like if he would KO most 168 fighters inside 6 rounds I agree with you with Benavides achievements, he was well managed even tho was a bit messy with the weed and weight before, now he seems focus and i love to see him fight, i want he and Morrell both to be great

Bek is one of the few names on the WBA list that I recognize, and I watch a decent amount of boxing. It's actually a good match-up because Bek comes to fight. We should expect Morrell to showcase more of his skillset against Bek. But you know ranked # 1, 2, 3, 6 and 11 much more brother, everybody know them more I think, they got more followers and/or television exposure

Hes dangerous but has a very poor won/loss record. His opponents Total is 188-21, only better than him was Lomachenko in history, imagine David Benavides first 10 opponents Total was 31-54, in his 11th fight he fought an opponent with 11 losses and no wins, Morrell in his third fight fought WBA # 1 ranked Lennox Allen(22-0) and then the one who became # 1 Aidos Yerbossynuly(16-0) Morrel Opponents Win/Loss ratio is best in the sport

If ppl here don't know Bek the bully, Morrell's next & best opp by a mile, they don't follow boxing much. This is a great fight for Morrell, assuming the rumor is correct, & the level I've been wanting to see him fight at for a few fights now. Erik B is a ok prospect himself & I'm sure many here know him & seen him fight. And in fairness with the Uwel guy idk about him so that opp would have been a meh selection like Morrell's last few opps have been when hes already proven he can compete vs better guys. I mean cuz Allen was ranked # 1 by the WBA, and Aidos was ranked 2, Adbeko 10, I knew them all and I m sure you knew them too, I even knew Mario Cazares, Falcao, Gavrosky and Fox, I know you know them too, and probably people in this forum too, I mostly read YouTube videos comments and they aren't known even tho they were undefeated top WBA ranked and all of them televised, Mexicans know Cazares cuz he beat Chavez Jr and Canelo in the Amateurs and called him out, Fox fought many 160 televised dates and is 6'4", medium level Box fans don't know them.. I would also love the fight with Bek the Bully but I think Morrell will also KO him before 6 and I suspect people would say he is an Uber Driver... I think he KO Berlanga and Munguia even faster, the ones I think would hold and be competitive are Prospects that I like in 168 and Benavides, I think Diego Pacheco beat everybody but Morrel and Benavides and would be competitive with them, and Shishkin could be competitive too, if we could make Plant to fight Morrell, that would be so good for him, by the way I also think Plant beat Munguia, Berlanga, Mbilli, Scull and and all the high ranked but Diego, Morrell, Benavides and Canelo

Andy is now a huge High Risk - Low Reward type of fighter

At this time the most realistic fight for Morrell is Plant cuz is a PBC fighter but I m afraid that Plant may be hurt psychologically and another KO loss would hurt his career badly, specially since he have huge possibilities to beat everybody else in the division aside of Benavides, Canelo and Morrell, I also like Pacheco, he I think is gonna be as good as Banavides and Morrell, he would KO Berlanga, Mbilli, Bazinyan and Munguia for sure, that dude Sishink is also very good and would also beat Berlanga I believe

Plus check this out Gvozdyk was retired for 3 years, he came back and won an UD over a fighter with 34 losses in a 6 rounder, he haven't taken a 12 round fight since his come back, in his entire career he fought only 4 12 round bouts, less than Morrell Jr

Leaving Canelo out of it, the fight that should have been enforced is Morrell vs Mbilli. Not Morrell vs Berlanga. Instead of mandating what would have been a good fight for the fans they mandate a far lesser one. Plus it actually can get done and would be PBC but MatchRoom & PBC I don't believe it

If canelo decides to fight benavidez or Morell jr first, then he can fight sulaiman for all I care I would most definitely pay for a Sulaiman fight :boxing: hahaha

No reason that would change after getting wrecked when he finally stepped up.
