Dan Rafael: Canelo Alvarez decided to part ways with PBC after turning down a Guaranteed 35 million vs Jermall Charlo as PBC included an agreement that Canelo must face David Benavidez in September
I was figuring 165-168. Def not below 160.
Yup. I said that in another post.
I don’t know about that. But he would’ve been the heavy favorite. If Spence showed he could handle Crawford’s speed, I think he has no issue with Canelo’s.
After watching Crawford beat him, I believe Canelo would severely damage him.
If spence is dead set on going to 154, i wouldnt mind seeing him vs jermell or castano, or even the Tszyu-thurman winner. Any of those could be a good fight, assuming of course that Spence isnt shot. But he needs to stay far far away from Bud, and DEFINITELY far away from Canelo lol
at what weight? No way Canelo would go below 160, if even that low. And of course once Bud ghouled Errol, that went out the window. But either way, Canelo would have clowned Spence at any weight. Bad business for Haymon to go 0-3 vs Canelo......

All of these reports are mere speculations. These news writers first need to convince people that PBC's deal with Amazon is the same as if Showtime never left. So all these reports are nothing but fabrication. One Youtube clickbaiter says Haymon offered $60 million. What a bunch of lying hyenas.
Then there was Chris Mannix saying Ennis fight with Crowley is on Canelo's undercard in May as soon as the IBF order was announced. Everyone else made the same claim and used him as the source. Wtf does Mannix know about what's going on inside the mysterious PBC? He couldn't even wait till after the 30 days negotiations is over. He's already assuming everything is still okay with Canelo's deal with PBC. He wouldn't even reach out to Ennis' team for confirmation. Not only that, he completely disregarded Ennis preference of his fights to be separate, not mere undercards.
I don't pay much attention when it comes to what's going on inside the PBC house. Most of it is made up, particularly the figures. Two years ago YouTubers say Haymon offered $100 million to Canelo just to advance their narratives. You'd wonder where all these amounts would come from, especially when all major networks have exited boxing. Most of it is fabricated. Chris Mannix is just as unreliable as the rest. We now know what he said about the Ennis/Crowley being on Canelo's undercard in his next fight is basically just a guess.
Ok perhaps I am wrong about that.
As for the rest of the post, you know I have called out Tank so your race bait angle was dishonest. Sad you went their because my point was correct.
No we’re not. And we are not race haters. Holding people accountable for their actions is right regardless of color.
Ok, that makes some sense Although I believe an undefeated Spence v Canelo would be the biggest revenue generating fight held in the US this year.

Haymon put me out of business?? I guess you are not too good at math. I retired in 2011. My last show was in 2011. PBC started in 2015. So unless I possess some psychic abilities that forewarned me about Haymons plans, then your statement is about as accurate as the rest of the nonsense you post
I'm beginning to think that maybe you are an alt of oldskool or joseph. Maybe all 3 of you race haters are the same person?
And also, if Rafael is correct and the canelo-pbc deal was for jermell, jermall, spence, then haymon needs his head examined for even agreeing to it in the first place. If those were the opponents that Canelo demanded, then Haymon should have told him to pound sand

Why? Does changing the particulars make what I posted false? No.
Your race bait angle here is extremely dishonest given I have consistently and repeatedly called out Tank for not fighting Loma, as well as other top names, as you are well aware.
We all know Haymon put you out of business so you’re happy he is losing Canelo’s services. You comprised your integrity and made yourself look bigoted with this post given my criticisms of Tank.
Do better next time Terry. Stop holding Haymon putting you out of business against black people that weren’t involved.

So he is gonna most likely fight Berlanga in May and Mungia in September. He has to announce something soon they are only about 2 months out from May 5
You talking about everything except canelo ducking benavidez for 55 million.
You fanboys love to deflect.
I have no emotional attachment to Canelo. We're all consuming what the media puts out...interpreting it and reaching different conclusions. Some of us are putting more stock in certain facts than others, based on what and who we find more credible. As the OP has displayed, parts of the story are purposely being hidden. What has remained constant: Canelo is one of Boxing's cash-cows, and he's currently delaying a Benavidez bout. We have a good idea of Canelo's next move: DAZN to face Munguia/Berlanga. What is Benavidez's next move? How does this affect's PBC schedule moving forward? The Canelo/PBC transaction is done for now, and I'm ready for the next chapter where those two questions are answered. I'd prefer to discuss fights that are actually on schedule.
I think we can all agree he simply does not want to fight Benavidez, that seems to be the top and bottom of it. It's been evident for a while, even coming up with nonsense excuses about not wanting to fight Mexicans despite fighting plenty of them before. You know it's a duck when the excuses start making no sense at all.
I'm not sure I'd even put money on Benavidez beating Canelo, he could but i think its a competitive fight...but Canelo clearly hasn't got much confidence in winning that fight it seems.
But it is what it is. Canelo is ducking him and you can't really force him into it. Not really worth talking much more about it.
It seems stupid for PBC to try and pull a bait-and-switch so they could manufacture a social media soap opera. Is any of this gonna make Benavidez a bigger star? Is this actually gonna make people buy his next PPV fight? What would make Benavidez a bigger star is fighting Canelo, which they did not prioritize when they had Canelo at the negotiating table. Canelo willingly came over to PBC/SHO for Plant, but now he pulled the A-side card because he has all the leverage. Benavidez needs to become a free agent ASAP because the only relevant opponent PBC has is Morrell...and Benavidez seems to be avoiding him anyway. PBC also has no contenders at 175. Benavidez should go up and beat Gvozdyk, then go fight the Beterbiev/Bivol winner on another platform.

agree - but give up the belts or defend against your mandatories
in a perfect world, that should be the case, but we all know how big a fighter's ego can get when he's consider as one of the best. he will do things his way at this point.
Benny The Boogeyman is 6 years younger than Nelo.
Let Benny get a solid W for once in his life.
What have the Hearn stable ever done ? What has Plant ever done ? Nada, zilch.
lets change the particulars a bit.
Or is this different because Tank is black? I'm guessing yes.......lol

Yes it was. $10 million is more than $5 million.
Hearn made the offer. Tank refused it. That is what happened. You can’t change that. Yes, I put the onus on Tank to accept or decline an offer made to him.
The duck is the person that refused the offer.

I think Benavidez is a top 3 option for Canelo, from a marketing standpoint. Canelo is risking this match-up by letting it linger. The sooner Canelo faces him, the more likely he is to win. He's also giving David too much rope to hang himself: David has a vulnerable style, and he's shown discipline issues in the past. Fortunately for Canelo, David's team have been adept matchmakers because guys like Andrade and Lemieux were stepping stones. David hasn't fought Morrell and Mbilli because those are arguably the toughest. Although I think he breaks down Gvozdyk, that is the biggest risk he's taken so far. If he loses, that'll hurt Canelo/Benavidez a little.
I think Benavidez becomes Canelo's biggest priority if he beats Gvozdyk and then Beterbiev/Bivol. That's the smart play. He needs to leave 168 alone.
Top 3 option? He is the top option by a country mile. You think Canelo is waiting for Benavidez to clean out 175 before he fights him? Canelo fans are totally delusional. Meanwhile Mungia and Berlanga who have done nothing just walk in and get the fight.
Your argument is that Canelo is avoiding David because he is not big enough, yet the whole boxing world is crying for that fight, So that is a huge contradiction already.
David is not big enough apparently but he is going to fight 2 guys who are not as big as David. Again a contradiction. Stop living in denial. Canelo is simply scared of Benavidez.
I agree but don't think it's semantics - you have it right about Khan and Jermall - though to be fair I don't mind these attempts if the fighter jumping up at least tries - Khan was leading on at least one of the scorecards at time of KO. lso at the time I admire Brook for having the fortitude to jump up and challenge GGG - he gave it his best shot. Ditto Mikey against Spence and LSC vs Tank.
I thought Brooks/GGG was DAZN avoiding Andrade u fight but at least he tried to win where the others dudes didn’t.
Mikey and LSC must’ve owed Al some money. There was no need for those fights but again you are 100% right-they tried to win so I am not mad.
