I'm a boxing fan so I like both fighters, but your example is totally different. Cotto was a big welterweight and had been fighting at 154 for some time. Khan was a big 140lber who just moved up to 147lbs and didn't look as good and now is fighting for a 160lb title at 155lbs. It doesn't make sense with all the talent at 154lbs. I understand the money, but as much as I use to like and respect Canelo I'm kind of starting to not respect him as much. But I will say that this could backfire on him. Khan will be no walk in the park. Especially since Canelo likes to box. If he was a bully and pressure fighter it would be different, but trying to box khan could be a bad idea

The only way mannies volume punching would work in floyds favor was if somehow mayweather could catch him with a lucky punch and Ko him. Other than that, it will be very hard for mayweather to overcome volume punching with his run, clinch, and potshot tactics which we know he will use. Whenever he faces a power puncher like pacquiao, he goes on his back foot and dances around the ring potshotting and clinching like Lara did to canelo. Mayweather did this for the 2nd maidana fight. I cant believe people think mayweather is going to walk pacquiao down. Pacquiao is not Robert Guerrero or victor ortiz, hell hes way above the likes of cotto and canelo. What you fail to realize is holding is apart of boxing. It's only illegal it's continuous and that's to the refs discretion! That's only part of their defense! That's not what stops the aggression! The vicious counter punches is what slows down offensive fighters aggression because it forces them to think! I think people don't understand that Television deals are not about a boxer's skill. It is about more about name recognition and fighting style. That is why Rigondeaux can't get a fight on HBO, he is the most boring, yet effective, fighter out there. Ward isn't exactly leaving people on the edge of their seats either.

If mayweather can beat pacquiao which I highly doubt, that would by far be the biggest win on his resume. On the other hand if pacquiao beats duckweather which he most likely will, it will be the best win but he's got a couple close seconds and thirds I.e. Prime berrera and Morales. Well I don't think it will be easy at all! But I also don't think it will be as hard as the Maidana fight! Maidana was bigger and wild! You really can't train for a person who throws wild shots. Maidana size allowed him to bully Floyd! PAC is fast but not as big! He won't be able to bully Floyd which I think Floyd will actually try to bully him! (Canelo, Ortiz, ext) Maybe not bully but will be the aggressor. I think he will have problems early, but will adjust by the 3rd and will put on a clinic. I watched the Bradley and Algeri fights and saw a lot of flaws in PAC! They were both able to make PAC miss, but weren't able to return punches, which Floyd will make you pay. When they did throw, they caught PAC with the right hand consistently. Go watch those fights and tell me if that PAC beats Floyd! I can't see it!

While Mayweather isn't as calm as he would like us to believe, he isn't lacking any confidence. Mayweather looked a bit off in the build up to Mosley, also brought back some of his old training routines, chopping wood, and in the early rounds while Mosley looked very tight, Mayweather looked a little tight himself. What I'm saying here is, Mayweather is serious and understands what he's up against. Mayweather repeated it twice and said "One thing we do know is that Pacquiao is not gonna go on survival mode".
For years now Mayweather has been successful in making his opponents check out mentally, it doesn't matter what he brings on May 2nd because Pacquiao has never shown those characteristics; checking out, Mayweather understands that for the first time in a while he is gonna have to physically slow down his opponent, he'll have to put more emphasis on it than he has in years.
I don't know why people get too emotional over what he says though, Pacquiao said Oscar and Cotto were tougher opponents going in, that's about as stupid as anything Mayweather has said to this buildup.

zab judah beat floyd jr in their fight I had zab winning the fight.this wont help duckweather jr at all since zab is old and shot to hell zab doesn't have the speed he used to have.algieri used zab as a sparring partner and that obviously didn't help him against Pacquiao.
