He fought a huge awkward guy, who is not even a boxer, but he is a kickboxer. Usyk is 39 old, he clearly overlooked the guy, but at the end of the day he won by a stoppage.
Usyk will be in shape against Kabayel.
Dude, not for nothing, you are constantly overly critical of other boxers, especially when you don’t like them.
You’re upset Usyk is getting the same treatment you give out. Lmfao.
Come on Jake!
IMO Inoue deserves to be #1 given he beat Nakatani who was a top 5-8 p4p boxer and Usyk was boxing a non boxer.
That said, a tougher than expected win in a cash grab where he wasn’t as serious as he should be doesn’t erase Usyk’s body of work.
I will still have him as #2 on my list.

Boots announced himself to the world three years ago. It is the reason there is so much chatter and so much indecisiveness about his career.
Every single thread involving Boots gets a truckload of hits. Less than a year ago not a soul knew who Zayas was. Today we know of him because of his impending fight with Boots.
I am not suggesting Boots is unknown among boxing fans. I am saying this fight should get him more mainstream attention
-----------------------
Fair enough.
I just don't think Loma at 38 can beat Shakur. As much as I like Loma, I don't even think a prime Loma beats Shakur.
I think not being able to win is why all have been avoided by the other sat the time they did the avoiding.
I'd watch him fight an inferior guy like Tank Davis
You could’ve but he ducked Tank when the fight was made and ducked Shakur.
Granted Tank ducked him too so while I get your sarcasm, let’s not pretend Loma did so because he’s figured he’d lose, which is my guess why Tank did so.
-----------
Would you say the guys Tank's been fighting are superior guys?
What does that have to do with my post?
You’re a solid poster. Don’t become one of the ones that instantly divert to someone else because I posted a fair criticism about Loma, who is a boxer you like.
Fat Gilbert multi-division belt holder who improved at cruiser but was destroyed by Fat Dave in his career best performance
UNDEFEATED Cuban Dave a game good contender. I think Fat Dave might have destroyed any prime Cuban Dave could have had. This win isn't aging well
PRIME White Chocolate Caleb good fighter with a good career
hardleft honorable mentions Gvozdyk and Demetrius
The problem with this is it doesn’t note how Canelo ducked him. His resume would obviously look better with a 2 Canelo fights on it.
I say 2 because imo David would win the 1st fight but only receive a draw then likely win 11-1 but get a SD or close MD win in the rematch .
I don’t think you can make a case for Shakur, Bam or David ahead of Usyk or Inoue right now.
IMO resume factors in the discussion. It’s therefore hard for me to look at the body of work of both Usyk and Inoue and put anyone ahead of either of them.
Raskin does make some good points when talking about Floyd and Crawford. I think they had resumes that supports Raskin’s points.
I don’t think Shakur, Bam or David does.
bivol defo
id put david as slight fav actually for that one
its a pity we will never see beter v david that would be a WAR
noone wants bivol v beter again
I wouldn’t hate it but clearly David v Bivol is more desirable and meaningful than Bivol v Bieterbiev now and in the immediate future.
all applicable to Top Soviet Bivol too who'd box circles around Fat Dave
we'll find out soon how Top Soviet Bivol is after his successful back surgery
a full function Top Soviet Bivol is the hardest stylistic match for Fat Dave
having already beat a come forward guy who has far better footwork than Fat Dave
That’s just it. Bivol should have enough left to make it a great fight despite coming off surgery.
David has momentum and confidence. He is in much better shape. Clearly has developed more as a boxer-puncher.
By all accounts he’s taking the sport seriously. Bivol isn’t going to 12-0 him like he did Canelo imo.
You’re the one being dumb, trying to drag a light heavyweight up 15 pounds to fight at 190 is being a weight bully and cowardly, and deserves to be called out.
You seem afraid David’s going to beat a boxer you like.
David Just won the cruiser title and is offering to come down to defend that title against Bivol.
I’d love to see David try and clean out 175 but you’re making it seem like he’s being a coward is ridiculous.
You make a fair point about the weight the fight should be contested at.
That said, weight bully is really a silly thing to post.
If a boxer makes the weight on the scale it’s all good.
The crowd was actually really into the fight.
Even when they missed the crowd reacted.
Japanese fans are True boxing fans.
They appreciate the sport so much. They sit quiet at the edge of their seats in anticiption of the next engagement.
If you havent been. You gotta go.
Boxing fans will gain tons of respect for the Japanese fans when they witness it themselves.
Thanks for the response. I better crowd is good live.I just think it makes for a less exciting TV product.
I got two kids in college bro. I ain’t seeing Japan for a minute. lol.
But I would love to see a big fight at the Tokyo Dome.
The only possible “negative” is the Japanese crowd.
makes for a poor TV viewing experience because the crowd is mostly subdued.
Compare those to an equivalent fight in England or America the crowd is more excited and demonstrative.
The fight itself was tremendous.
Only other small quibble would be the buildup. Nothing wrong with class but I prefer a little animosity and pre fight shenanigans.
Right thing to do imo at this moment. Inoue beats another top 10 p4p boxer so he should imo be elevated over Usyk.
Usyk is taking a cash grab so when he wins imo he shouldn’t be elevated above Inoue despite his run up to this point.
I would have Bam above Shakur.
Glad to see my boy Navarrette get some recognition. I’ve had him in my personal top p4p list for a while now.
I don’t see how Bivol keeps him off him, especially at 35 and following the back surgery.
Beterbiev is 40+ now and I don’t see how he handles the pace/activity of Benavidez.
Opetaia is one dimensional IMO, decent power in the left hand but not much else. I think Benavidez smashes him to pieces.
Good post.
I think Bivol still has enough left to make it a really good fight.
Bieterbiev might be too old for sure.
Jai is a problem. That 1 hitta quitta he has is the ultimate equalizer. David could literally be up 11-0 and then it’s over that quick.
Id personally like to see David clean out LHW before the Jai fight.
would be a great fight imo.
If David cleans out LHW and Jai cleans out Cruiser, I would love to see them fight.
I am more interested in David v Bivol at the moment.
it can happens when you fight BOTH of the top 2 p4p like bivol and crawford..
and with crawford case, he had 24 foot ring to move like he never has before..,
they gave him the win but
he didnt land more power punches to the head or body~~~ was outlanded to the body by double, !! DOUBLE, and those were power punches
CANELO outlanded crawford in 6 of the rounds while coming forward
crawford , the only thing he outlanded were jabs, with canelo rolling most of them.
it wAS A 1 point loss on two cards!
we want our rematch but crawford as quick to retire
This is just crazy.
