Sturm is a very good boxer, and I like his attitude towards his mother. I was a fan of him but since his last fight: no more. His clowning around was just too much, and he is getting more arrogant every time I hear him speak.
In my view Taylor and Abraham would knock him out.
Sam Peter by vicious KO providing Sam hits Valuev clean and with enough punches. It's gonna be crazy though without a doubt.
Yeah, the only problem is Peter's punches would lose some of their force due to the size difference, happened against Kltschko, too.
But, no matter what, that would be a show, oh boy.
clifford ettiene tryed that. but obviously hes limmitted in skills.
sam peter vs valuev would be a nice match up!!
Thanks for your post.
Everything cool again? :)
Thanks for that.
Yes, John Ruiz is one of my favorite fighters. And, yes, some of his fights were a pain to watch. But I like the attitude of this guy: he fights the best, never quits, is often agressive in the ring. People say he has no talent, which is untrue: good head movement, can punch well with both hands, goes to the body quite effectively ... Ruiz is no boxer but a fighter, I like that. :)
In my view Lewis played it save, which was boring, and Tua did nothing but wait for his left hook to land. The fight was very disappointing afterall.
Didn't expect 4:1 odds, pretty one-sided - expected more like 2:1, maybe 3:1.
I would love to see Tua-Ibeabuchi II breakout, but I highly doubt it given Valuev and Peter's lack of skill and agility. I hope Peter lands one big shot and blows him away, but I doubt it.
I understand. Don't think it would be action packed liked Tua-Ibeabuchi, would more be like Patrick Bateman chopping down a tree when he is in a rage.
Has Valuv chin ever been tested? Peters would defenitly chin check him.
Yes, I think so - Etienne, Vidoz, Bango and others hit him clean. But they are no monster like Peter is.
This fight will be mad boring, as Peter is too slow and Valuev loves to hold. I think that Peter will win in America, but will get robbed in Germany. I learned my lessons from Ruiz to not predict the talentless loser to get ko'ed by the next big thing.
Don't think it woud be boring, not at all.
you are wrong these points:
- sanders put rahman down and out the ring and was way ahead after the first 3 or 4 rounds, while he was never in the fight with VK after the 1st round and never had VK in as much as trouble as he had rachman
- golota lost on the scroecards to byrd while VK was way ahead prior to injury
- an old holyfield lost to larry donald, who VK KO'd...
Rahman was not down in his fight against Sanders. This KD was not legit in my view, it was the ropes that caused the balance problems. You described the Maskaev bout. ;)
Golota didn't lose, it was a draw. Klitschko was ahead on points, but the number of landed punches were about equal.
That were different versions of Holyfield, cannot be compared at all.
raesaad, fair post. ;)
i disagree, rahman was down against sanders and it was called a knockdown... golota got a draw on the cards, while vk was way ahead on the cards, so i dont see how AG was more effective than VK.... an old holyfiled is old holyfield... you said an old holyfield was better than anyone VK has beaten... well, old holy lost to donald and i dont see an old holy beating sanders or williams either
Just look at Byrd's faces after both fights ...
I said "the old Holyfield", the one against Ruiz, you know, the one who gave Lewis still a very good fight, then fought Ruiz three times in a row and beat Rahman afterwards. That Holyfield would have beat both Sanders and Williams in my view.
this is funny... ruiz struggled with fres, an old holyfield and golota, while losing to 2 middleweights and a giant orge..... VK has never even been floored and ruiz is gonna stop him?
Let me explain. My prediction is a late TKO win in favor of Ruiz. I am not saying John is just going in there, bombing Vitali away. Klitschko in my view just doesn't have the experience to deal with the kind of fighter Ruiz is, in my view. He did give Lennox Lewis a great fight, but still lost to a version of Lewis that was far from being at its best.
I can understand why lots of people would pick Klitschko to win, but I still disagree. Klitschko fought two top contenders and lost to both of them, he struggled against Sanders (in fact Rahman had an easier time with him), beat Hoffmann on points only (so did Akinwande, Mirovic actually, Vidoz even floored him). The old Golota in my view gave Chris Byrd a better fight than Klitschko did, and the old Holyfield was better than anybody Vitali defeated.
I am not trying to take anything away from Klitschko or any other boxer, but Ruiz was a way better champ and would have beat Klitschko, I think so, by wearing him out by body punches and stopping him late.
Bro, your missing out on the best fights out there. My favorite boxers are:
Corrales
Pacman
Gatti
Arce
Cotto
Hatton
Rafael Marquez
Barrera
Morales
PBF
I might've missed a few but my list is based on pure excitement and entertainment, fighters you know will give you your moneys worth and they are all lower weight guys.
I respect their skills and appreciate what they are doing, but I like the big boys way better. :)
He held the IBF HW title for about 2 days, but he had some nice tv paydays.
Steroids, right?
Botha fought good opposition: Tyson, Lewis, Klitschko, Moorer, Briggs. He never looked scared, even as he had his hands down against Tyson. LOL
lol,,,,rahman was down twice and hurt at other times,,,only one was ruled a knockdown. sanders was getting the better of it for the first 4 rounds till he ran out of gas
Please rewatch the fight, Sanders was down twice, not Rahman. And Hasim never was in that kind of trouble Vitali was (first round, counter left, running scared).
I am not trying to convince you my view is right or yours are wrong. I want to discuss it, please stick to the truth and do no make things up.
your a joke. ruiz isnt a good fighter.
danny williams would beat his ass inside 6 rounds or less!!
No need to get personal. If you got a point, you got a point, a stupid insult is no point.
i'd love to see it as well. it'd be a hell of a show. valuev has OK skills for someone his height and it be tough for peter to reach him. i'd love to see how valuev would deal with those extremely wild but powerfull hooks that samuel throws. since being skillfully handled by klitschko, peter seems to be trying to reform parts of his game to include more of a technical boxing side to his repertoire as shown in his fight with robert hawkins. perhaps he may have learned that you need more than just wild power punches to beat good seasoned heavies.
now he's fighting another big boy in julius long, so perhaps his handlers are trying to prep him for a future fight with valuev.
Very good post. Peter should get back to the basics, against Giles Knox for instance he was fast and quick. Speed is the key for him I think, more than better boxing skills.
Wlad beat the fuck out of Peter, to the point of Peter staggering around in the last round with blood pouring out of his mouth and nose and his face grossly swollen. Holding doesn't do that, geniuses. Those right hands he was dropping on him all night did it.
Wlad tied up when they got in close or when he needed a rest, choosing to land and circle from the outside. Exactly like Ali fought Frazier and several others. It is nothing like Ruiz or any others who hold and then hold and then clinch some more and then jab and then clinch again. Wlad landed an insane number of power punches through the fight and held when he felt uncomfortable on the inside. A smart tactic which led to him dominating the fight, other than really one round with the one legit knockdown.
Nobody questions his ability to dish out. He, as it seems to me, is like a school bully: a tall and big guy beating up on other smaller ones, when they fight back he wets his pants.
playing it safe?
if you got the fight won, will give the other guy a chance to steal it away
If you know you cannot lose the fight on points, why not impress even more by knocking your opponent out?
Gunstar1, great pic. Would have deducted points, too.
king and brewster didnt want wlad in a rematch. funny how the haters forget how brester stated "wlad didnt dserve a rematch"
Who are you calling a hater? Wlad was mandatory, it was up to him.
no I know...just saying you should get a clip of the parts where he was unloading a fast combination
Will be done, we got enough time - 6 more days. :)
Chris got courage, he is brave.
