John "The Quietman" Ruiz, 41 Wins 28 KOs 6 Losses 1 Draw, 6'2'' 240 lbs.
Strengths: Determination, will; experience; good combination puncher, also to the body.
Vitali "Dr. Ironfist" Klitschko, 35 Wins 34 KOs 2 Losses, 6'8'' 250 lbs.
Strengths: Size; power; good chin.
What would have happened, had a prime John Ruiz faced a prime Vitali Klitschko?
Klitschko knew exactly how to use his body size to his advantage, so for his opponents it was very hard to come close. But he also was very robotic most of the time and very predictable: left jab, right cross, leaning back ...
John Ruiz always tried anything to win, some call it ugly others call it a warrior's mentality. His experience would be a huge advantage over Klitschko. Besides, Vitali never faced a better body puncher than Ruiz.
In my opinion Ruiz would frustrate and tire Klitschko out, stop him late in the eleventh round. What do you think? Please let us discuss.
Please rewatch the fight, Sanders was down twice, not Rahman. And Hasim never was in that kind of trouble Vitali was (first round, counter left, running scared).
I am not trying to convince you my view is right or yours are wrong. I want to discuss it, please stick to the truth and do no make things up.
so wat vitali was hit hard by some punches, who had sanders all screwed up in the 8th round? and his face looked like he got run over by a lawn mower, please stick to the truth and dont tell people shit that doesnt matter...
ruiz will kill klitchscho in a boring 12 rounders. he lost to jones and toney cuz they are smaller and faster guys. klistcho is a frankenstein enough said
ahahahahaha, u are the stupidest piece of shit ever...

making things up? yes,,,sanders was dropped twice as was rahman,,but only one was scored a knockdown. the ropes held rahman up on one occasion and it wasnt called a knockdown. rahman was hurt on several occasions in that fight and getting the worst of it until sanders tired. thats the fight clown. stop watching it through rose colored glasses

i re-watched the fight and IMO rahman was in serious trouble at times in the fight... VK was never in any trouble except for the end of the 1st round... rahman was stunned in the early rounds and knockdowned... here's a link to a recap of the fight:
http://www.boxingtimes.com/analyses/2000/000520rahman_sanders.html
this is funny... ruiz struggled with fres, an old holyfield and golota, while losing to 2 middleweights and a giant orge..... VK has never even been floored and ruiz is gonna stop him?
You don't have to floor a guy to stop him.
I'm not saying Ruiz would win, I don't think he would. He's not a good body puncher, he doesn't throw in combos, and he just doesn't have the size or athleticism to beat VK. I'd be surprised if it didn't end ala Tua, to be honest, with Ruiz getting blasted out early and swift. Maybe not 19 seconds early, but early nonetheless.
lol,,,,rahman was down twice and hurt at other times,,,only one was ruled a knockdown. sanders was getting the better of it for the first 4 rounds till he ran out of gas

Rahman was not down in his fight against Sanders. This KD was not legit in my view, it was the ropes that caused the balance problems. You described the Maskaev bout. ;)
Golota didn't lose, it was a draw. Klitschko was ahead on points, but the number of landed punches were about equal.
That were different versions of Holyfield, cannot be compared at all.
raesaad, fair post. ;)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH,,,,this has to be either a major klit hater or norman stone or even ruiz himself,,lol
Let me explain. My prediction is a late TKO win in favor of Ruiz. I am not saying John is just going in there, bombing Vitali away. Klitschko in my view just doesn't have the experience to deal with the kind of fighter Ruiz is, in my view. He did give Lennox Lewis a great fight, but still lost to a version of Lewis that was far from being at its best.
I can understand why lots of people would pick Klitschko to win, but I still disagree. Klitschko fought two top contenders and lost to both of them, he struggled against Sanders (in fact Rahman had an easier time with him), beat Hoffmann on points only (so did Akinwande, Mirovic actually, Vidoz even floored him). The old Golota in my view gave Chris Byrd a better fight than Klitschko did, and the old Holyfield was better than anybody Vitali defeated.
I am not trying to take anything away from Klitschko or any other boxer, but Ruiz was a way better champ and would have beat Klitschko, I think so, by wearing him out by body punches and stopping him late.
klitschko by murder within 4 rounds, vitali would beat ruiz worse then he beat sanders...
Just look at Byrd's faces after both fights ...
I said "the old Holyfield", the one against Ruiz, you know, the one who gave Lewis still a very good fight, then fought Ruiz three times in a row and beat Rahman afterwards. That Holyfield would have beat both Sanders and Williams in my view.
well, our opinions differ... i think VK wins cause he's:
- bigger, stronger
- bigger puncher
- better chin
- faster hands
- more athletic
- better skilled (not that VK is a master or anything, but ruiz has little skills except to hit and hold)
i disagree, rahman was down against sanders and it was called a knockdown... golota got a draw on the cards, while vk was way ahead on the cards, so i dont see how AG was more effective than VK.... an old holyfiled is old holyfield... you said an old holyfield was better than anyone VK has beaten... well, old holy lost to donald and i dont see an old holy beating sanders or williams either

you are wrong these points:
- sanders put rahman down and out the ring and was way ahead after the first 3 or 4 rounds, while he was never in the fight with VK after the 1st round and never had VK in as much as trouble as he had rachman
- golota lost on the scroecards to byrd while VK was way ahead prior to injury
- an old holyfield lost to larry donald, who VK KO'd...

You know thats a very ballsy prediction but you do make some good points.Ruiz has hung in there as boring as he is with the top guys out there now a days but I doubt he could beat VK or Wlad for that matter they just have too much offense for Ruiz.Ruiz would eat so many jabs with that come forward style it would be rediculous.VK by TKO 8-10 round range.

lol,,nothing to discuss. its a mismatch. friggin little roy jones and toney whupped ruiz. vitali would smear the bum in 5 rounds
to not make it personal... that question is a joke... ruiz would not win a round... vitali can take a huge punch, one muhc harder than ruiz's
i like ruiz of late because he seems honest but this is a definate loss for him
