About to end 2017 and i have the same question of this post back in 2012.
He was still on queer street from that Andy Lee right hook and walked into oncoming traffic
Fury
He can match Usyk for talent and is bigger and stronger. Usyk isn’t even that elusive either, he’s there to be tagged.
I’m a big Usyk fan but this is a fight he can’t win. I was actually predicting Usyk to be the one to beat AJ if he fought him in the next few fights but Ruiz did it. That’s how highly I rate Usyk but I think Fury is too difficult for Usyk.
Warrington v Galahad for me.
I’m just curious to see how good Galahad is. People in the game all say he is very talented. He was also
one of the highest rated prospects in the UK before his ban and has only just got momentum back in his career.
Warrington didn’t want this fight but has no choice because it’s mandatory. They all know he’s high risk and low reward and I think he might see why Warrington and Frampton didn’t fancy fighting him if they didn’t have to.
I think Gorman does almost everything better, apart from power, but that’s only going on the eye test against weak opposition for the most part, so it might not mean much.
Gorman and Hatton seem to have been wanting the fight for a while, like they know something.
I’ll go with Gorman but I wouldn’t be confident enough to put money on that.
do you still believe to hearn? Damage control. He over marinated your wilder super fight and look what happened lol
What? I’m not a fan of Wilder or AJ and don’t believe a lot of what Hearn says but I doubt he’s lying about a rematch clause. It’s standard in contracts for these kind of fights
Him talking about a rematch clause isn’t damage control, that makes no sense.
Ruiz can just go ahead and try to fight Wilder. That way Joshua would really regret his decision making
Who said that?
Hearn said in dozens of interviews there’s a rematch clause
Probably not.
I think Price can win because he hits hard and Allen can be easily hit but I think Allen is too tough for Price.
I think Allen’s toughness will be enough to make Price tentative and Allen will get to him
I’ve never seen a fighter that looks petrified in the right as much as Price sometimes.
Allen isn’t a great boxer but improving. I think his willingness to fight and him being as tough as nails will make him all wrong for Price.
Manny looks and performs nothing like a 40 yr old. I dont even think manny has one grey hair.
His legs are noticeably slower though. He certainly is showing signs of ageing.
Well Floyd didn't want to give young lions chance to make name for themsekves. Pac s putting head on chopping block.
Yeah it’s not like he fought Canelo
You can say he was young but he was in p4p lists and had made about 5 defences of his world title
Of course he has a public image, Hearn has said his fighters need to act a certain way because of the corporate sponsors involved in Sky. That’s why even Dillian Whyte has toned it down a bit since he got more well known.
I’m sure AJ is a very different guy in private when he doesn’t need to call on his media training
Fury isn’t much different now, since he got big BT and ESPN contracts he acts a certain way on their broadcasts with his mental health awareness speeches and what not, which is all fine and I’m sure he’s genuine but he certainly tones down the other things he does when he has to
Never met him but maybe he just likes to fight and not too bothered about all the fame that goes with it. He doesn’t seem to live a flashy life and out there trying to be noticed and chase fame.
He’s brilliant, his control of distance is very impressive when watching up close as well, he’s always in range to land punches whether on the front or back foot.
I currently have him at #4 but I can understand why people would have him so high. He’s completely destroyed some very capable fighters; Narvaez, Kohno, McDonnell, Payano and now Rodriguez.
I think it's the manner of his wins that make him a good shout for p4p no.1
Someone like Canelo is scraping wins, sometimes in fights he didn't really win. Inoue is just blowing out fellow world champs and very good fighters in a round or two. Sure someone like Rodriguez isn't p4p as good as GGG, but is it better to blast Rodriquez out in 2 rounds, or have a debatable win over someone like GGG, when the majority felt you lost?
I'm a big Loma fan, but you could say he didn't look that great v Linares or Pedraza, who are probably on similar levels to Inoue's last few opponents.
Crawford has been beating people like a shot Khan, a cripped Benavidez etc..
So i wouldn't say it's unreasonable to have Inoue up at the top, on current form and the way he's beating them.
Saunders will go down at one point .
No chance Canelo drops Saunders.
Saunders has a granite chin, never even been wobbled in the amateurs or pro's.
I don't think Canelo has the power to hurt Saunders at Middleweight.
No one's actually defeated Ruiz and should have got the belt from Parker. .
This is the line being spun by Matchroom and AJ fans now.
The truth is that it was a close fight, most feeling Parker probably edged it.
As soon as Ruiz is set to fight AJ, history was been rewritten and suddenly Ruiz schooled Parker and got robbed.
For the record, i think Ruiz is a decent opponent but let's not make him out to be something he's not. He's around the level of Parker, Miller etc..which is ok. He's had one big fight at a half decent level and lost a close decision.
Wrong.
test samples taken between February and March in 2015, before Fury’s first bout with Klitschko, led to an investigation by UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) officials. The paper said that Fury and his cousin “then attended a meeting in September, when he was told the levels of the steroid found were higher than the body would naturally produce”.
He then fought Wlad in Nov.
I'm not even interested in arguing about this but needed to establish some facts here.
Fury first talked about his depression in articles as far back as 2011
Mental illness? Or just being a fat, drunken cokehead? That's what led to his 'illness' after all.
Funny how he was never mentally ill until after he failed his PED tests..
wrong.
He was talking about his depression in the face off with Wlad for the rematch, which is obviously before he failed a test.
But make things up to fit your agenda.
Gervonta's real height is around 5'3 to 5'4. He doesn't have to put much weight on for it to really show through. No doubt he could probably drop it all in 3-4 weeks.
Maybe right now but it gets difficult the older he gets.
He's 25 this year, he isn't a kid anymore. In another few years, he will be really struggling to get that weight off. Fighters at lower weights often have shorter careers at the top and that's the ones that take care of themselves too
Ruiz. Ruiz's 1 loss was a debatable one against Parker... Breazeale on the other hand got completely taken a part by Joshua without him breaking a sweat.
Breazeale is just a punch bag with heart.
Yeah, but then Joshua is better than Parker
So it's not really a fair comparison when comparing their only losses.
That said, i don't really rate Breazeale, so you're probably right. He's got a pair of balls though and will give it his best.
He came in at 178.5 lbs & his opponent came in at 173.5 in a scheduled 8 rd bout.
In all fairness to this point, BJS wasn't even scheduled to fight until a week before. He wasn't in camp for a fight. He took a fight so that kid who passed away recently could see him fight, the kid that was sick that he was always with on his instagram.
I bet most MW's would be 178 if they're not in camp. Some of them are not far off that for the 30 day weigh ins. So i don't think he can be criticised for that.
Anyway, he did fail a test and doesn't seem the most likeable guy out of the ring. He has a lot of boxing ability and is almost a wasted talent, even though he may be a 2 weight world champ by this weekend.
Ridiculous, big Fury fan but not sure i'll pay for this out of principle.
That said, i think we can expect him to be fighting on PPV all the time now. Same as all AJ fights and Whyte fights are PPV now. Even Hearn said he considers Fury one of the only PPV fighters in the UK along with AJ and Whyte, which means basically any fight will now be PPV. So can't blame BT too much for it, Sky do the same but at least theirs is usually prime time Saturday night.
It's hard to imagine many buying it to watch Fury fight at at 5am v Tom Schwarz.
There's no question that Canelo would win the fight but he won't win it by knockout.
.
Canelo would only win by robbery.
Eric Gomez openly said they don't want that fight for Canelo because stylistically it doesn't make a great fight.
In other words, they don't want someone that won't stand infront of Canelo like a punching bag, because the last fighters with real movement (Lara and Floyd) beat Canelo.
They're not stupid. Why would they fight Saunders? - he currently has no belt, brings no money to the table and his style is awful for Canelo. It's a very high risk:low reward fight for canelo, especially with a $350m DAZN contract behind him.
BJS is a bum That only stupid fans from U.K think that he will beat Canelo.
Canelo is better in every aspect
BJS best win is Lemieux, a poor bum that Rubio K.Od
Canelo style is all wrong to Saunder that never fought with a good rival
He would make cement feet Canelo look like Lemieux.
Canelo's upper body movement style wouldn't do anything with Saunders. Saunders would just show Canelo some movement and beat him from range. Canelo would end up looking like he did v Floyd. He would look lost.
That's why Canelo and Golden Boy have been ducking Saunders. The worst thing Saunders done in his career was school Lemieux with all those skills and movement and beat him up to. It made Canelo avoid him.
Canelo is a way better fighter than the time when he fought with Floyd
And Billy is sh.it.
Canelo is better in every aspect and Billy does not deserve a sh.ot against him.
Of fact, he is not champion and is not in a top-25 list P4P
Canelo is not better in every aspect and has been ducking Saunders
Even Gomez at Golden Boy said they would avoid that fight.
Once Saunders wins this saturday, he's coming back down to 160 to clean out the division, Canelo included.
