Soo i've been watching a lot Thurman vids recently, and I have seen a lot of youtube comments That say that hes dickhead outside of the ring ( refusing to sign sigs, not taking photos with fans etc.. etc..) Has anyone here actually met the man in real life and what was your experience.
Perhaps the new pissed off attitude is from all the criticism in recent years.
Sure, but all boxers get that. All PEOPLE get that. People who are confident aren't bothered by criticism. People get shaken by criticism when it touches a nerve. Maybe he doesn't feel his reflexes aren't as sharp as before, that his injuries are holding him back. He doesn't look as confident to me and I think there's a self-doubt behind it.
In that vid everyone (broner, Easter etc) was laughing at him and you could tell he was pissed off. They were laughing at their phones why? Because his picture of looking like a cabbage patch kid was going viral LOL.

Tank out of line for that. Broner Easter ain’t got nothing to do with that tho . They drunk and just laughing
Never met him but maybe he just likes to fight and not too bothered about all the fame that goes with it. He doesn’t seem to live a flashy life and out there trying to be noticed and chase fame.
I never met him.... but he seems lie a spiritual dude... I think if he messes pac up too much... he won’t feel positive vibe...
I’m guessing he goes to burning man..
Part of being sport star is having to push yourelf in training, giving interviews, attending press conference - not having to take milions of pictures and writing down stupid-ass signature for people who somehow feel that having a picture with famous person make them cool on social media.
That's how You deal with dumb-ass fans:

I’m not much of a groupie when I see fighters. I try (lol) to put myself in their position and be like damn what is must be like to be bothered everywhere you mostly go
*****
But 3 boxers I’ve constantly seen on fights that haven’t changed on cam or off cam, always taking pics, signing autographs , and hanging around the PUBLIC hallways becoming ACCESSIBLE to fans is:
-Abner Mares
-Shawn Porter
-Mikey Garcia
*****
most fighters change once get belts. I could tell Spence trying real hard to still sign and take pics but still does. Jokes aside , broner from what I’ve seen in person is accessible also, he’ll sign and take pics.
I never understood all this autograph thing. Not that I think Im so cool or anything like my wife accuses me of but I have no interest in asking for another person’s signature. Wtf is that gonna do for me? Lol.
Im not gonna follow these people around and lower myself to that level. Like hey, can i have your autograph and a picture? Lmfao it’s actually pretty degrading, I have no interest in anybody’s autograph. I dont care about stars but that’s just me.
It’s a social media thing too. I always come across some jerkoff on facebook who thinks he is on the top of the world with a celebrity picture. It’s cringe worthy.
Actors and athletes just need to be good at their jobs. They are not obligated to sign everybody’s stupid T shirts.
Even the down to earth ones.. they arent going to be cool all the time.
so if you had a boxing glove, and mayweather said he would sign it for you, youd refuse?
how about on a piece of paper? i get ya though.

Most fighters are cool when you meet them outside of boxing. Bellew is one of the nicest boxers I’ve met but I still think he’s an absolute d***head within boxing.
Thurman probably falls in that same category, at the end of the day these guys are trying to sell a fight. Thurman seems like an arrogant a-hole at times but then he also comes across as a chilled out hippie.
Keith is cool as a cucumber, just look at his interactions with fans on youtube. He's a character but people don't like that he' so confident, only certain types of people though.
So if your favorite boxer of all time walked in the same room as you rn you wouldnt want a pic or autograph?
No.
You gotta put yourself in his skin. If I was a championship level fighter - getting bothered by random people wherever I go would get old very quickly.
I wouldn't want to be bothered - so I won't bother other people either.
Let them live. I'm good with watching him perform in the ring, his personal life is his personal life.

Exactly my thoughts.
It's one thing if there's some meet and greet kind of event. If you want to take picture then - even if it's not my thing - that's cool. That's what guy is there for.
...that culture of filming and making picture with famous people when You randomly come across them. Men that's just so pathethic.
I love hearing about McGregor or Gervonta breaking phones of those morons.
Interesting the way Mayweather always constantly thanked his supporters, I can remember one news report where the reporters where stating? That he stayed behind and signed every single autograph, gloves/T-shirt he could until he was dragged away 'Numerous times I have seen these comments made' Was not a massive Mayweather fan but he understand the dynamics of the sport.
Mayweather's a cool cat out the ring.
Part of being a SPorts start. Don't forget he's a millionaire because we watch him fight

What!? Taking pictures n sigining **** for your fans is apart of being a star. Without those fans you wouldnt be a star. Going around breaking fans phones aint where its at
True, I also wouldnt take a picture with an ugly fat lesbian like Gervonta Davis. People have to know how to choose like Canelo wouldnt ever do prick $h1t like that.

Seems like he went from being chill AF to angry and tense after he got married.
Yep, basically his wife took his balls and keeps them in her designer handbag.
LOL you think? Is that just the Manny hype/buildup stuff or has that been going on? I've obviously noticed him turning up the heat for Manny, but haven't noticed anything previous to that. Then again I'm about Thurman'd out admittedly so til this Manny fight got made my interest in Thurman as been at a all time low.
I was always amazed at how chill and almost detached he was previously. He had this zen like attitude, as if he was observing from the outside. Now, he is genuinely tense, easily offended, etc. I usually don't read much into interviews but it was a marked change with him.
I think he may have some doubts after the time off. I heard he was telling people at the gym that he lost his hunger, and people around him said he was more into life with his new wife than training.
