this undefeated middleweight prospect actually gave Pac tough sparring sessions a few weeks ago when camp just started.
Good workout for him, now that Pac is about 70-75% he knocks down
a 154 pounder. Come fight time, Cotto at 160lb should be a good target
Props to Cotto for coming in prepared and strong, unlike
many others who said he was damaged goods after the
Margarito fight.
Cotto came in as a legitimate elite welterweight on fight night.
And one more thing that impressed me was his heart.
He never quit eventhough his corner asked him several times
if he wanted to. They just didn't have the balls to throw in the towel
as they gave in to their proud warrior's wish to fight til the end.
All questions will be answered soon enough.
Granting Hatton is stronger at Pac at 140 (which
we are not sure of anyway), speed will be Pac's
main advantage.
Ricky's upperhand is his ability to muscle his way into
a fighter. I doubt he will have many chances against
a quick Pacquiao who has learned over the years to
quickly side-step or go around his opponents.
This ability will be key to his victory on May 2nd.
long time no see bro Thrilla!!
PAC is already the highest PAID Athlete in P.I. History, imho for 20M who will not fight ANYBODY for that kind of money...
p.s. buti ka pa tol meet mo na si pac...
yes pare, been a long time !
You're right, he's already the highest paid athlete,
with the fight purse plus all the endorsements (Nike, etc.)
P.S.
Yup, got to meet the man himself the other day :)
Di pa rin ako makapaniwala hanggang ngayon !
Sobrang down to earth ni Pac pare :)
Hey fountino, now that you mentioned it, it does make sense from the money point of view . They won't make the PPV numbers with a DLH-Cotto fight will they ?
its a win win fight for pac ... he got nothing to loose ...
its not the first time he will be KOED then get the 10-15M ...
but what if he wins?!?
$20Millon = P900M, that will make him the highest-earning athlete in Philippine
history, if he isn't already. I agree with you pareng jom's. Its a win-win
fight for pAc
Eric Gomez who not only happens to be the vice-president for Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions, but is also a close friend of De La Hoya's since they were children, feels Manny Pacquiao is a dangerous fight for De La Hoya to take. There is a lot of commotion in the boxing world that De La Hoya maybe gearing up to take on Manny Pacquiao in his final fight before hanging up the gloves.
Speaking to dzSR radio's Dennis Principe, Gomez stated in regards to De La Hoya taking on Pacquiao: " is a dangerous fight for Oscar."
Gomez added during the interview: "Manny has the speed and he’s got the power. It’s a very dangerous fight for Oscar."
Even though Gomez has some concerns about the fight, Golden Boy Promotions is serious about making the fight happen. "It’s a matter of getting together and making the deal happen. It’s a matter of getting the numbers and to see if we can get it done.”

Now that's what I call "leaning towards a Pac-DLH showdown".
Oscar's people already making a case for a "competitive" fight . lol
C'mon now, lets get serious.
I give Pacman a chance against DLH because
Oscar's in the twilight of his career and is 5 years older than Pac.
But Cotto is a totally different story. Size & youth makes all the difference here.
If ever this fight pushes through, I bet its gonna break the PPV record set by DLH-PBF just for sheer interest of people wanting to see Pacman either broken down by Oscar, or Pacman escape a predicted KO, whichever the boxing gods allow to happen . But then again, Pac has been defying the laws of boxing as of late, who knows ?
lol. this whole pacman-dela hoya stuff is getting some really juicy discussion here in BS. damn , the more arguments there is for this fight not to happen, the more people will want to make it happen, (get the gist ?)
i dont think it would be a one-sided massacre, but i dont really care to find out. manny has enough business to take care of and is rich enough that he doesnt need to participate in a circus sideshow
as a big fan of de la hoya growing up, i want to see him go out on a more credible victory. not to say pacman isnt credible, but no one will respect that win and if he loses, he will surely get it from everyone!
i wanna see margarito-de la hoya in a mexican pride battle, but i think cotto will probably win. in that case, cotto-dlh works for me! floyd gets the winner! oh yes... he will come back for whatever is left of the winner. you know that right?!?
The guy has plans to run for president someday. Catching Oscar in his
last fight will net him the moeny he needs to run for office
Not from me. Really, I would hate it to happen. But it's such strange phenomena, like UFOs, that makes you wonder and speculate on possible explanations.
I know man. I mean, a former flyweight taking on DLH ?
Its just too unbelievable that you'd probably want to watch
it anyway if the fight is made.
I'm sure he's gonna take that fight anytime, anyday. Problem is Floyd is hibernating, Hatton can't get out of the Malignaggi fight (Paulie doesn't want a step aside fee), and the only available juicy fight for him right now is DLH.
I want to see Oscar retire Manny for GOOD!!!
Not at the level Pac is currently fighting . Manny's improved by leaps and bounds in the last few years, both offensively and defensively
i still think AJ can come back strong... imho he only needs a better trainer,
lets face in bro Thrilla, we dont have world class trainers in the P.I.
I think the ALA trainers are good at fundamental skills training.
What they lack is scientific resistance training .
I mean, their fighters mainly get by with natural skills (Gorres) and power (Banal). But when its crunch-time, in the big fights they fold (Bautista & Banal).
This Rafael guy was tough as nails.
He deserved the victory.
The body shots on Banal took its toll in the later rounds.
He could not finish off Concepcion despite several times
he had him wobbly in the first half of the fight.
This was a difficult lesson for him. But its his first loss,
he's just 19. And there's no where to go but back to the
drawing boards , find out what went wrong, and work
himself back into a title fight.
this post should put up the pinoy post count a bit :lew:
threadstarter is the most moronic "pac fan" ever.
Its good you proclaim not to be a "fan" anymore.
we don't need brainless people like you on our side.
yeah go to pussy floyd's side, he needs serious help
from similar people.
Nothing more cowardly than accusing your opponent of cheating with absolutely no proof.
It's just to create an excuse. If/When Mayweather loses, they'll just claim that not everything can be caught, chemicals can be used to hide results, etc. His crackhead dad and uncle have already started on it, saying that USADA results aren't enough.
spot on ....
manny said that he is willing to give blood, just not on the day of the fight itself.
Manny has already bend over by agreeing to the extra, unsanctioned, never-been-done-before tests. No blood 24 hours prior to the fight is more than reasonable. Floyd disagreeing on these terms means he has other motives than having a "fair fight"
clear as daylight : Floyd is trying to escape from yet another fighter whom he thinks can beat him.
No balls, the guy's a pussy. This is all very clear .
Do you guys really believe they will give up gazzillions just because
of a silly blood test fiasco?
This fight is happening. And all of these is just part of the
media psywar. Chalk up one for Gayweather for all the buss
his sissy accusation has generated.
His ass is getting whooped anyway on March 13th so
Pac will have the last say.
just too hard for some to accept the guy is accomplishing historic milestones.
eat your hearts out mayweather fans. your boy is not going to get the historical legacy that pac is getting
