I think Marquez underestimated Pacquiao in the first fight and was careless in the second.it's the sweet science man!
Haha. Marquez is brilliant, but I do feel that he took advantage of what he or his trainer saw in the Mosley fight.
Just imagine the backlash if it were Manny calling Floyd a nig....Saying sht like "I'll make him cook me some Collard greens and smack the fried chicken off his Black monkey lips".
there would be a worlwide boycott of Manny's fights. He'd be crucified. Then we'd have to hear from the clowns like Sharpton, James, Farrakhan, Obama, etc...about race sensitivity and racism.
But since it's Floyd....
Floyd never said one thing about Asians, Filipinos, or Pacquiao's color. If Pacquiao called him a nig, or said Black monkey lips, then that's extremely racist, and degrading to black folks and everyone would hear about it.
i guess its okay to call you ch11nk and g00k then
:boxing::boxing::boxing:
Wow, they should have an IQ test for people before they're allowed to have internet access. There's a big difference between calling people those names, and telling someone to go cook sushi and rice. Floyd never used words like that to put down anyone's race. Telling Pacquiao to cook him sushi and rice, and making dog, is not the same as calling him a g**k or c***k. Your post = FAIL.

wow, then the only raicsm you know is against black! people in this forum is just amazing!
I'm Asian, and nothing he said on there offended me more than what any of my friends would say when we talk smack. Saying pacquiao eats sushi and rice is not offensive cause he probably does. I eat rice every single day and night, so if someone told me to go cook some rice, why would I be mad? The dog thing, Pacquiao's own father ate his pet dog when he was 14. If you consider it racist, that video was very mild and was done to talk smack and clown on Pacquiao. He never said "asians are this" or "filipinos are that". Seems like Pacquiao doesn't even care about it, it's more like his fans that make it a bigger issue than it really is.
I just read the article on fighthype about where this interview took place. This isn't even a press conference. It was just a random reporter trying to get info on the negotiations while Floyd was at a charity basketball game. This is as accurate and useful as his interview that went around YouTube when he said he's taking a few years off from boxing. All he's doing is trying to avoid talking about the negotiations to the media and giving them no information about anything.
Ronnie Nathanielsz is the worst writer in BoxingScene. I come here for fight news, not biased articles. All he does is bash Mayweather and hype Pacquiao in every single article. BoxingScene should regulate this because this should be a website for fight fans to find news, not some writers opinion mixed into the articles.
The biggest fights happen in May, and the most money is made during that time. Pacquiao didn't want to fight in March because he wanted to not concentrate on boxing, and run his stupid election. How's that any different than what Floyd's doing? Anyone who has been following these guys know that Floyd is all about making money, and he's a smart businessman.
In his mind, the biggest fight ever should be made at the best possible time to make the most possible cash. That's in May, not November. For someone with a pure business mentality, rushing into a November fight is not the smartest business move, when they can make even more money in May. Vegas has an almost 4% increase in tourists in the month of May compared to other months. The biggest PPV event in history was in May.
People can say whatever they want, but May 2011 the fight will be made and none of this talk by ignorant fans will matter. Saying Floyd is scared is just plain stupid. What did he do when Mosley stunned him? He didn't fight scared the rest of the fight like most fighters would. He showed Mosely who the real boss was, and punished him for hitting him like that. This guy isn't scared of anyone, it's all about making the most out of a huge opportunity. Why do you guys think Pacquiao won't fight a high risk opponent before he gets a Mayweather fight? Both of these guys want to make this fight happen. I already had a feeling it wouldn't happen in November, but these guys will be ready for May 2011. There can't be any excuses from either camps after that.
Floyd just apologized on Ustream to all the fans and anyone that was offended. Go watch it in the archives at ustream.com/floydmayweather. It's towards the end of the video, he gives a long little speech.
These cry babies need to quit. The man apologized, get over it. I didn't know Pacquiao was the new Rodney King. It's pathetic how these Pacquiao fans call civil rights organizations and call AT&T over dumb ****. This is the kind of stuff that makes people stop feeling sorry for you.
are you sure?
If that is true than that is a big error. Just because of that Mayweather can get hated on real hard.
Watch 4:49 of this video. He clearly says YOUNG CHUMP. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umBqh_zm-c0&feature=player_embedded
Oh really? Why do I think that if Pacquiao came back at PBF with comments along the lines of "I'm gonna knock that KFC eating and Koolaid drinking black guy the F out," black people would have their panties in a bunch and scream racism at the drop of a hat?
It's easy to turn the other cheek if the "racism" isn't directed towards your group of people. But when the shoe is on the other foot, its time to grab the matches and start the bonfire.
Actually, I'm not even black, I'm Asian. I agree with what you're trying to say, but he didn't say anything racially degrading towards Asians or Filipinos. He made fun of Pacquiao, and joked around with stereotypes to make fun of him about making sushi, rice, and eating dog. That's what a lot of people do when they clown. That's not being racist, it's joking with stereotypes. People do it all the time, it's not racist, it's clowning.
A racist person hates other races, and puts other ethnic groups down as a whole. If he called Pacquiao a ch**k or g**k, then that would be another story and he would be a RACIST. What Floyd said, yes, it can be offensive to people who are sensitive about it, but the man apologized to those types of people for his jokes towards Pacquiao.
I think most people are overly upset because they already hate Floyd, and they'll take whatever they can to try to bring him down. And I agree that black people would be upset for any comments regarding them, but guess what? This country already has a long terrible history of racism towards blacks, and on top of that there was slavery. People who can't accept an apology afterwards and want to keep taking these jokes so seriously are just trying to take it further than what it really is.
The funny thing is that the same people calling Floyd a racist are the ones that get on the internet anonymously and call him a monkey, n****r, and other terms that are actually racist and degrading towards black people...
Another article I won't even bother to read after seeing that Ronnie wrote it. His articles are no different than reading what any hardcore Pacquiao fan has to say on the internet. This isn't news, it's a Pacquiao fan having the ability to have everyone read what he thinks about his favorite fighter.
Pacquiao's own dad ate his pet dog when he was like 14. Floyd said nothing racist. He never put down Filipinos, or Asians. If he fought an Italian guy and said, "I'm gonna make that chump cook me some pizza and lasagna after I beat his ass", is that racist? Hell no! He's just clowning on Pacquiao, not Filipinos. He probably doesn't know any Filipino dishes so he said sushi because it's an Asian dish, and Filipinos eat a lot of rice. So what? Nothing he said was against a race or culture. It was all against Pacquiao. It's all hype, now the fight will be even bigger.
