I'm hoping for the best that Mosley and Floyd happens obviously, but i do know that this is a bit premature. Regardless, i believe both fights will generate very good PPV numbers. Now this is not a contest or a hate thread for either one. Just give me your honest predictions for each fight. Thanks.
Here are my predictions:
Mosley vs Floyd = 1.5 million
Manny vs Clottey = 1.25 million
Clottey: "If I didn't have good defense, Pacquiao would have KNOCKED ME OUT"
James Slater: In your opinion, if Pacquiao ever fights Floyd Mayweather Junior, who will win?
Josh Clottey: The way Pacquiao fights, he will give any fighter problems - the way he throws so many punches. A lot of fighters throw a lot of punches, but Pacquiao throws them with energy; and he can take a good punch too. I don't think Mayweather should fight Pacquiao at a catch-weight. If he does, he's not gonna beat him because of the energy he has. Pacquiao has so many advantages anyway. If I didn't have the good defence I have, he would have knocked me out. My defense allowed me to make it to the end of the 12-rounds, but that was not my intention. But with my condition I had to protect myself.

I'm still not convinced on the merits of choosing Dallas. I mean, how many people will actually fly to Dallas for the fight? I guess it could draw heavily on the locals but still, I felt Vegas would have been a more attractive destination.
The owner (Jones) is buying 30,000 tickets right of the bat. He wants the first boxing fight at this event a success. Add that to the fact that the venue is world class and the tickets are extremely cheap. The most expensive one is $700 while the cheapest is at $50.
I say the signs are good at the gates.
I'd be shocked if FMJ-SSM didn't do better. May 1 in Vegas.
vs. March 13 in Dallas (right smack dab in the chase for seedings for March Madness).
Gonna be hard to fight for publicity when ESPN, Foxnews etc are all gonna be about College Basketball.
Pac-Cotto=1.25 million (excluding a record 100,000 Puerto Rico PPV buys)
PBF-JMM=1 million
and now everybody is predicting PBF Mosley would do better than Pac-Clottey?
WTF :chairshot
hate does blind people. there is no doubt that it will be more than pac-clottey

I'm still not convinced on the merits of choosing Dallas. I mean, how many people will actually fly to Dallas for the fight? I guess it could draw heavily on the locals but still, I felt Vegas would have been a more attractive destination. Weak undercard, wierd locale, etc. I could be wrong, sure, but I don't know how strong the gate will be. You have to reason that March Madness will be gearing up that same week as well. You gotta figure some percentage of people would rather save up for March Madness than fly to Dallas for a one-off fight. Selection Sunday is actually March 14, the very day after the Pacquiao-Clottey fight. That would have been infinitely more attractive to go to Vegas and watch the fight on Saturday, then stayed for Selection Sunday and the sportsbook, etc.
I think both will do about 1.2
Huge fight for Floyd but as he said himself, Mosley isn't a huge draw but it'll still be pretty big as its Floyd's first live fight in a very long time.
Pac clottey will get plenty of support from the mainstream and will get alot more foreign support from both Asian and Latin Americans.
I do think Floyd has a better chance to edge out PPV buys but Pac will clean out in the gate.
sort of depends on the undercard too. If GBP stacks it, then there's a good chance of a blockbuster PPV.
The TR fight should do alright, I mean, it's still Manny Pacquiao no matter how you slice and dice it. But trying to sell it as a co-main event thing with Margarito when he's fighting Carson Jones (yeah, who?), I dunno. JLC-Gomez...again, I dunno, JLC post-135, not exactly inspiring or compelling.
It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.
mosley mayweather does more, that's all I know
And if that happens maybe Manny and his camp will swallow their pride and push for the Mayweather Pac fight later this year.
IDK man, I think you are underestimating these cats popularity, espically when you combine it with 24/7. These cats are on the Oscar level now if you ask me. I think they could put up numbers with nobodies let alone 2 really good opponents
You could be right, but I'm not convinced they're on DLH's level as of now.
These fights always do a little less than expected.
Anyway, I think Pac-Mayweather in September will hit 3 million buys after these fights.
