I suppose the real question on this subject is, do people think guys like Tyson and Frazier can't beat modern heavyweights, or do they think that guys like Tyson and Frazier are so rare that we just need to wait for another one to pop up?
Hopkins did it so many times, even though I think he actually beat Calzaghe I still thought he should have retired after that fight. Then he went and beat the hell out of Pavlik
I refuse to hear any disrespect of Hopkins because of this! Who fights an animal like Kovalev at 50 ****ing years old? Like a real life version of Apollo Creed vs Ivan Drago, except B-Hop actually held his own!
There’s George Foreman who retired before I was born but I’ll count him with like a decade long retirement. Unreal. This man fought both Ali and Frazier and THEN Holyfield eras later. F ucking WHAT?! That’s not even mentioning other great names. AND he won a major world title in that run? Amazing.
George turned pro 3 years after Willie Pep retired, and was still heavyweight champion (he beat Briggs, damnit!) two years before Rigo won gold in Sydney.
Definitely a story unlike any other in sports.
Riddick Bowe, Mike Tyson, George Foreman, Larry Holmes, Dwight Qawi, Michael Moorer
Vs
Tony Bellew, Murrat Gasiev, Mairis Briedis, Marco Huck, Michael Hunter, Krzysztof Głowacki
I take Holyfield.
But we'll never know since the current testing isn't as stringent during Holyfiels's time.
BTW, Holyfield is one of my favorite to watch.
Boxing still has some of the weakest testing in sports. Plus you know the reputation East European athletes have.
I'd put money on Usyk being juiced.
Unless you're Miss Atwell's fetus I'm reckoning Errol's in with a better chance than you of achieving his goal, man.
I didn't mean that they had the same chance of happening, I meant that it's such an obvious goal that I don't see why you'd bother saying it at all.
