I know pacman has a great left but I'm looking for slightly older fighters. I'm fairly new to boxing and I know very little about most fighters from even a decade ago.
Michael Nunn (against Kalambay!!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyNrFLiIpiE
Wow, that had a nasty thud on it. Never seen a Nunn fight but I'm going to have to look into him more.
This one was second to none :)
I was just going through his record and who's name do I see on there? John Scully LOL. I'll watch it when I get the chance but how you feel about the fight? "ESPN reported the blows as Nunn 373/1291 29%, Scully 389/689 48%. " Does that tell the whole story?
He's got a puncher's chance early on as in the 1st or 2nd rd. If he can't get it done, Cotto's bodyshots will kill him a couple rds later as Margs did to him. He just can't take those well.
Agreed. All he has is that puncher's chance, and each round that chance diminishes. Cotto isn't exactly the toughest fighter either though. I'd say Cotto has a big edge in mental toughness but i'll wait until after the fight to make that judgment.
Considering I'm a lightweight,(and that's when I'm out of shape)no. Even If I survived without any life threatening damage the 1k wouldn't cover the medical anyway.
I am a fan of both. I'll say MMA is more consistently exciting. Boxing though has potential to be soooo much more exciting. MMA's greatest fights will never compare to boxing's greatest. Not for a long time at least.
Breland had a very successful pro career, becoming the welterweight champion twice. He wasn't an all time great but he was still an outstanding pro with an excellent hard left jab. Plus he is one of the classiest people in the sport. I think injuries cut his career short.
I see, thanks. A couple times he said something along the lines of(and I'm paraphrasing heavily), "You do what you have to to win. No regrets." Anything behind that?
I'm thinking this could possibly be a good thing for boxing. Best case scenario(albeit highly unlikely)....Pac dominates and KO's Oscar in an exciting fight or atleast gets a clear win. Then the #1 PFP whos an exciting, active fighter gets a huge upset and beats the most well known fighter in boxing. Only good things can come from that for the sport of boxing as a whole.
Worst case... Pac takes horrible punishment, runs for a few rounds then Oscar brutally KO's him. Pac is never the same fighter again...
Mayweather is a gym rat, he always keeps his weight down and takes care of himself outside of the ring.
And that's most probably the reason he retired. I imagine that gets old after a few years...
******s been way behind the curb for 600 years. You were sharpening spears while we were manufacturing guns. Shit some of you are still livin' in huts.
Can mayweather hurt margarito? Tough to say No it's not. I believe PBF probably beats both. Cotto has a better chance. One thing is for sure, and that is that Floyd would not hurt Marg in the slightest.
I don't think anyone really dislikes him. They dislike a few of the posters pushing him as the second coming of SRR. Plus, those poster are just moronic in general.
