evrybody makes him out to be a fighter and just that.just becasue he does not have innate capacity does not mean that his achievement in slugfests is not appreciated by fans.

Those guys are not any better bud. If you take 2 fighters that are in the same level, could be 2 amateurs or watever the fight could be interesting but doesnt make them good.
Those fights were great and entertaining. I agree with you Gatti has brought us good fights. But we are talking about two different things I think the thread is talking about overall fighters and their actual skills. In that regards Gatti is over rated, HBO has contributed greatly into this.
I would go with Tarver and Winky. Winky beat a former lightweight and former jrwelterweight and is now considered top 3 P4P by some???? :confused: . Tarver beat a past prime RJJ and Glen Johnson.
I dont think Vargas was overrated, I think Vargas was badly managed and has been damaged goods since Tito and even more so since ODLH, those were two bad beatings. He is a shadow of his former self and will be remain a what if fighter.
I so agree with you on the terrible managing by Vargas camp. He jump in with the big boys a year too soon. I do disagree on Winky been overrated, I think he is very good. If you see the fight Winky had with Mosley and then with Tito it looked like to completely different fighters. He adjusted very well and showed great skill.
I always thought GATTI was the most overrated fighter and still is. The man has a huge heart but doesnt make him the fighter everybody makes him seem to be.
Antonio Tarver, easily. He beat an old Jones, then Johnson. Who else is he gonna fight at 175? Woods? No. Erdei? No Briggs? No. He is gonna fight Bernard Hopkins. He should not be in the P4P ratings.
Old Jones? Roy was the pound for pound best fighter at the time :confused:
I think he can go far and be competitive versus the current swarmers around the welterweights. I'm not as concerned about his chin as others are. He got rocked by Torres but Torres is a hard hitter and Cotto got hit flush and didnt get KOed.
What I'm more worried about for Cotto are the boxer puncher types i.e. PBF and Zab type of fighters. I think a boxer puncher who has real pop and can make Cotto respect there power will be tough for Cotto.
I also agree Cotto is like Tito in that Cotto fighting style is efficient and strategic and methodical but versus a boxer with good power it could be trouble. Remember how much trouble Tito had versus ODLH. IMHO Tito didnt win that fight ODLH lost it. It was ODLH to take and he decided to look pretty at the end.
Completely agree with you, we'll see how he'll do with a more active pure boxer style like a hopkins, sweet pea whitaker, PBF.
GunStar you should love the Nevada Athlectic Commision for going to all this trouble. In Atlantic City, NJ Mayweather would had been DQ instantly and Judah would had been the winner.
From what I heard the decision has already been made, they just going to make it official on thursday.
Mayweather will get strip and the IBF championship will go back to Zab Judah. The reason is because the rule saids corner cannot come into the ring or is a automatic disqualification. There's no if or buts thats the bottom line and the rule.
Is a shame I thought Mayweather fought a brilliant fight he might of lost 3 out of 5 first rounds in my book but thats cuz he was getting use to Judah and his southpole style after that he won most rounds and the fight.
GunStar1: they are many reason this rule is put into place and is not a stupid rule. One they must be strict about anybody entering the ring to protect the fighters, perfect example Roger went to confront and attack Judah. Another reason is for the corner to protect their own fighter if they feel there in serious danger and want to holt the fight immedietly. Bottom line Roger Mayweather is a veteran and that sport has been his life. He knew the rule and should had known better it was idiotic of his part entering the ring and costing his nephew the fight.
