who is the most over-rated boxer today?

i agree with you on Wlad but Pacman is not over rated. He started his career at 106lbs and he beat 2 (MAB & EM)of most talented fighter/boxer @ 126 & 130lbs. He should be at #1 or 2 on P4P list. BTW... Im not a Pacman fan. I agree with you in that Pacman is not over rated I actually have him at #2 P4P, I wasnt impressed with him in the JMM fight, I actually thought he was an exposed fighter who could just throw lead rights. I was wrong and he evolved. However He showed in Morales I and much more in Morales II that he has evolved with Roach and has a more complete package now. I think him losing to Morales in the first fight really helped his game because he realized that he couldn't always just blow out guys with his right. He looked more complete in Morales II and I think the Pacman of Morales II would destroy the Pacman of JMM. With all that said I dont think Pacman went up in weight strictly to fight better competition and bigger pay days like PBF did, I think he just couldnt make the weight any more and probably caused him to get KO'd with a body shot in his last fight at 112. He didnt even make weight for that fight. After that he immediately went to super bantam 122lbs and has since looked much better and more natural at superbantam and feather and superfeather.

Old Jones? Roy was the pound for pound best fighter at the time :confused: I wouldn't say old, but faded. I didn't see him as P4P after the first Tarver fight. I had that distinction between Hopkins and Morales at the time.

First that sprang to mind were Taylor and Lacy. Both were extremely coddled fighters, who had it very easy on their road to stardom, lots of cans padding ther records. In terms of their first really big time shots, Lacy folded and Taylor won (eeking out the first, doing better the second)

Definately. With Pac, only because of his fans and the fact that he really is one dimensional. He just needs to fight a true boxer that can neutralize his onslaughts (cough cough Raheem cough). Trying to think, but all that really pops to mind is Tarver and I think Miguel Cotto, just a bit. According to SoFlyyy and the other dude Morales and Barrera are overrated boxers cuz Pac knocked both of their asses out. Leave the fans out of it.

I'd say Tarver, and Wladimir. Tarver hasn't beaten anyone too special(washed up Jones) and Wladimir has no chin, and just doesn't impress me.

I do disagree on Winky been overrated, I think he is very good. If you see the fight Winky had with Mosley and then with Tito it looked like to completely different fighters. He adjusted very well and showed great skill. I'm not saying Winky isnt good, but I just dont think he has earned the acclaim he is currently getting, that being P4P in the top 3. I'm not saying he wont earn it I'm saying that I want to see him beat big name natural middleweights and then I'll re-evaluate my estimation of him. I do think that he is attempting to achieve this is fighting Jermain however IMHO I think Taylor's gonna win with atheticisim and his jab. I think B-Hop who I think is craftier than Winky was outmatched by the athleticisim of Taylor. B-Hop enjoyed a strenght advantage in a lot of his later big name fights against Tito and ODLH but when matched against a true middleweight with athleticisim he came up short. I think the same will hold true for Winky.

Those guys are not any better bud. If you take 2 fighters that are in the same level, could be 2 amateurs or watever the fight could be interesting but doesnt make them good. Those fights were great and entertaining. I agree with you Gatti has brought us good fights. But we are talking about two different things I think the thread is talking about overall fighters and their actual skills. In that regards Gatti is over rated, HBO has contributed greatly into this.

I would go with Tarver and Winky. Winky beat a former lightweight and former jrwelterweight and is now considered top 3 P4P by some???? :confused: . Tarver beat a past prime RJJ and Glen Johnson. I dont think Vargas was overrated, I think Vargas was badly managed and has been damaged goods since Tito and even more so since ODLH, those were two bad beatings. He is a shadow of his former self and will be remain a what if fighter. I so agree with you on the terrible managing by Vargas camp. He jump in with the big boys a year too soon.
