Tyson had trouble with taller fighters, but 86-88 Tyson would dispose of Bowe pretty quick. During that time he was the most destructive and compact fighter I've ever seen. Bowe wouldn't be able to handle that at any point in his career.
Aron Pryor relentless style would walk right through any boxer at 140 or 147 today and yes he would rape Floyd Mayweather
He would give Floyd fits... his relentless style would give Floyd a fight he has never experienced before. Love Pryor! Money May would run out of ring space against Pryor. Lol, he'd prob try and negotiate the ring size to be as big as a basketball court.
But I think we all know that Floyd would figure out a way to avoid Pryor.
I don't understand how any of you would rather see Bradley-Pacquiao II... Manny dominated damn near every round in that fight. It was a decent boxing match but nothing memorable about that fight besides the horrific decision.
At least Ruslan will bring some excitement to the ring! It'll also help solidify whether or not Manny can still finish a fighter. Ruslan will be there in front of him the whole night and throw alot more punches than "punching bag" Rios did, leaving himself open. A much more intriguing fight in my opinion.
This is a top 5 fight in the sport right now.. I think Manny would end up being too much for Garcia, but it would be an incredible match. D.Garcia seems to be good at everything but not great at anything. Good power, good speed, good chin, good boxing ability. Really good fighters don't beat great ones unless they're way past their prime... while I think Manny's definitely not in his prime, he's still an elite fighter.
Comparing MMA to Boxing is like comparing Hockey to Football... they're both combat sports, but that's where it ends. MMA's big sell is their matchmaking, but they don't build up their fighters like Boxing does. There's no mystique.. or added intrigue to MMA fighters. I'm an MMA fan, but I don't get emotionally invested in their fighters. In Boxing, a loss means so much more... every fight means something. I just don't get that from MMA.
Rigo should not be in the top 10.... GGG should take his spot imo.
1. Floyd
2. Ward
3. Wlad
4. D. Garcia
5. M. Pacquiao
6. M. Garcia
7. GGG
8. Bradley
9. Canelo
10. Froch
Of course Mayweather would... it would be an older, slower version of a big name that he already beat. Not much risk involved and a big pay day speaks Money May's language.
Stevenson's ducking him... basically using the Mayweather train of thought. He's older so his window is smaller and he's gonna ride this streak as long as he can. Kovalev is the only threat to him in my opinion so he'll dance around him like Floyd until Kovalev gets beat.
It's sad cause I'm a big Stevenson fan.. didn't think he had Floyd-itis.
Why would you not wanna see Manny vs Ruslan?! The fight would much more entertaining than JMM vs Ruslan...
You guys keep saying that the PPV numbers would be weaker than Manny vs Rios, but remember, people were leaving Manny for dead after getting put to sleep by JMM. The PPV numbers would surpass Manny vs Rios because of Manny and him proving that he is still a great fighter.
GGG has his own plans.. I don't think it has anything to do with thinking Ward is in another league. Let him clean out 160 then go for Ward.
I have to commend Ward for wanting the fight though... something that Mayweather would never do.
