Awhh sheesh.. I was hoping this fight would've got scrapped... They're fighting Chris cause he's a cheap fight period... He's taking pennies compared to what Pac and Arum will make off this fight and I for one will not buy this fight. Most time me and the bro-skies get together well in advance and chip in cash for a Pac fight. This time we're all like who the F* is Chris Aligeri anyhow??? Whoever said this fight should be ESPN, thank you, whoever you are. This fight should not be an expensive as Hell PPV. Clotteyism.... I can see some elements of Clotteyism coming outa this fight, a boring fight where Chris will do some good running, won't land anything big with his feather fists and just try to make it 12 rounds. Pac I imagine will land his signature left, prolly hurt Chris but not enough to KO him as those days seem over, Chris will recover and we'll see a wide UD for Manny but a real snoozfest. If Knob wants good fights he's gonna have to put out some cash to some real fighters. Roach seems to have pretty good taste in who manny should fight (i.e. garcia, JMM of course) I think he was even cool w/ manny fighting khan too but not gonna happen unless "my promoter, talk to my promoter" does his job...
I agree with those who say Alexander is a better fighter than Chris. If Devon would have fought I guarantee the score cards wouldn't have been wide as the Grand Canyon against PAC, dangerous fight for Khan, props to him!
I, for one, hate to throw around the possibility of PEDS in boxing. It's a nut-shot to the sport that has already been punted in the crotch from people testing positive in the past. Boxing one of my fav sports so it's hard from a fans-point of view to watch its reputation get put through the shredder. Did Marquez or Pac ever use PEDs in their careers, who knows, Hell they might have but if they weren't caught then what can you do? Saying Marquez juiced for the 4th fight looks real bad, just like when people say Pac juiced for the cotto fight. Okay, JMM said not wanting to lose is what kept him going Hell nobody wants to lose. My problem with Juan is he never ever once gave Pac credit for beating in their 4 fights not one time. He had a case in the 3rd fight but that was a close fight either way. Those who say robbery have clearly failed to see what a real robbery in so many other fights where the dude who should've won never got a bit of support from the boxing community just cause their fights weren't on the magnitude of a Pac-Marquez level. I like Marquez, he's a great fighter/boxer/whatever but he is a sore, sore loser. Poor sportsmanship don't earn fans and the fact that he wouldn't take TR's offer for a rematch is frankly a slap in the face considering Manny could've said "F-you" after not just the second fight but the 3rd fight too but he didn't. JMM went to the Phil and begged for the fight and they eventually agreed. Now I do think where JMM won in convincing fashion in #4 that the purse split should be equal this time between them instead of Manny getting the much bigger share all the time but that's a closed-door subject that promoters handle. Even if both sides said that #4 was the one to settle the score believe me people that's ALL fight-hype and nothing more. That's not the first time that's been thrown around in the history of the sport I'm certain and it won't be the last. I, for one, would pay for a PPV in #5 10 times quicker than what I seen between Pac-May as Pac-May was absolutely awful in every way. Pac-JMM, best rivalry in boxing history!
Running away?? Still stuck on face 1st brawlers I see, too bad.
I'm sure Bradley prepared 5 times as hard for Pacquiao as he did for Kendall Holt and still ended up looking like a sparring partner. Sure he never got KD'd but he wasn't far from it on multiple occasions whereas Pac was never even remotely in trouble once during the whole fight. Horrendous result a sad sad shame WTF is wrong with this sport?!! You know boxing could have been as popular as soccer if the powers that be would have not been so damn greedy and stupid!!! Feel bad for Pacquiao the guy is a classy/crowd pleasing champion who didn't deserve the shaft. If what ppl say about karma is true (i.e. the case of Pac-JMM) then Bradley is going to get KO'd worse than Mike Jones did in the 11th in his next fight!!
Marquez by a touch, as much as die to the fact that when he moved up he won the lineal title, fought the best, and should also have now been a 4 division welterweight champion whilst beating the number 1 P4P. Tito got knocked out in his similar attempt at that kind of greatness. Marquwz surpassed it with flying colours and was robbed through politics and greed.
Just think for one moment if Marquez got his deserved decision. This wouldn't even be questionable. The only reason people are questioning it is because of backroom corruption.
Marquez also has a lot more excellent champs and top fighters on his resume than many think.
Champs: Julio Gervacio (WBA SBW champ)
Orlando Salido (2x current FW champ)
Agapito Sanchez (SBW champ and Pac's only other draw)
Alfred Kotey (BW champ)
Robbie Peden (SFW champ)
Manuel Medina (5 or 6 time champion and FW great)
Derrick Gainer (multiple champ)
I'm going to throw in Victor Polo, because that fight should have been for the Undisputed FW title. Polo had been brutally robbed against Scotto Harrison, the other champion, and so Marauez fought Polo instead of Harrison as that was the guy that was considered the 'real' other champ at the weight at the time. As always, people look back and only see a BS draw instead of Polo being the champion and Marquez missing out on his Undisputed claim. Disgrace. That fight was nearly as bad as Abril/Rios. He was also screwed in his only other title fight outside his country (of course) when the ref ruled an obvious slip against him on the opponents corners towel being left on the ring apron. It literally lost him the fight and title. Poor bastard.
Terdsak Jandaeng (WBC SFW title)
Marco A. Barrera
Rocky Juarez (I'm putting him in here because he was clearly a top flight fighter when Marquez fought him)
Joel Casamayor (lineal SFW and LW titlist)
Juan Diaz (unified LW champ)
Katsidis (ATG legend!)
You also have his two 'losses' to Pac. Despite 80-90% of people believing he pretty clearly one either or both of those fights, it was only the money fighter that got the nods. The third fight was clearly a Marquez win, which should have lead him to being one of the very few fighter in history to jump from 135 to 147 and beat the top flight P4P 1 champ. I don't mind the fact that Pac has a win, and draw against Marquez, what I find most disturbing is that from 3 fights, only the guy that had big money fights lined up ahead of him got the nod over the guy that most thought had pretty clearly won two of those fights. 3rd fight, Pac arguably only won about 3 rounds, yet his fight with Mayweather got him the win. As Arum told Marquez afterward in the ring "It's not personal, it's just business".
You also have Chris John and Freddie Norwood on the list of fighters that really didn't deserve a W against him.
Either way, that's a long list of fighters who were champions that Marquez beat that people forget about.
And the winner is Pacquiao. Just ask Marquez, that guy couldn't buy a win against a contemporary top-notch opponent if his life depended on it. Second would be Tito followed by a distant third JMM.
If anybody can come back its Pacquiao. I wonder what the science is behind a ko like that? If he doesn't remember the punch, or the fight maybe it has had no real effect on him as a fighter.
Anyways as a Pacquiao, and boxing fan I hope he will be back. He is good for the sport. I also have a feeling he will be all the better for it.
My only hope is that they stop fighting Marquez, and pick some new names. Their fights are epic, and always very even. I think the fans want to see him beat on some fresh faces. I hope he comes back against Bradley to avenge that farce of a loss. Then I want him to fight "All about the money, but not if its Pacquiao" Mayweather. I think his final fight should be against Marquez.
Maybe even a Khan fight.....
I also hope Marquez takes on some new faces too. I would love to see Marquez vs. Danny Garcia, Khan, Matthysse...
I'm PAC-man fan all day, but let's be real here, the man is torn in too many directions. Has the camera in his face too much now... He's probably no where near as hungry as he was 10,8,even 5 years ago. Probably spoiled by his wealth and lavish lifestyle now. His past experience and a little of the old pac-man are all that are left now. He's still great, but he is becoming what he did not want to become and that is a fighter who don't know when to retire like Roy jones jr.
Pacman will be back better them ever we talking about a guy that at some point live in the street with no food or nothing and look were he got when you bein tru so much you develope a strong mentality a man that survives all that can boun back from anything pacman will rise again better them ever
I thought for damn sure he had the 4th fight against jmm. He said if he saw a chance to end it early he would, and that may have been his downfall in that fight but regardless, he was very very stupid to lunge into that right hand the way he did. Manny should have been patient, channeled his aggression appropriatley, and let jmm choke out on his own broken nose blood drainage. If he would have just took his time, PAC might've been talking to team mayweather about the mega fight right now not to mention minus a concussion. Still love the PAC, just maybe it's time for him to retire and pledge his life to family and politics now.
Marquez basically beat Pac twice (once un-officially) and Floyd not being active at the weight it is nothing but common sence to have him #1.
If JMM beat Pac "unofficially" then Pac needs to go to #2 on the list because there's no way in HELL Bradley beat Pac in their fight! It's a hard pill to swallow cause I'm the opposite of a JMM fan seens as he's only beaten Barrera, Diaz, Casamayor, and now Pacquiao his "crown jewel" as notable names on his resume worth even mentioning. They better make a 5th fight before both retire that's all I'm saying...
This fight was waaaayyy overhyped. As a PAC fan there's no way PAC can or should admit he won... That's something marquez woulda whined and cried about and I always praised PAC for being better than that, never having the problem of admitting when he lost. But tonight he did, me and millions of others thought he would win, but it is what it is, but my respect for manny took a hit tonight from that statement. He didn't mount an effective enough offense against floyd.. Granted it was a close fight as floyd wasn't nothing special in there by no means, but as someone said earlier, Maidana vs floyd part 1 was closer than PAC vs floyd 1. I hope PAC retracts/apologizes later. 116-112 for floyd sounded right, as best, 115-113, both fighters sucked tonight, just manny sucked worse...
Lmao!!
why now though?!?.....VADA should have been on deck for fights 3 and 4 as well....Marquez could be juicing and gaining unfair advantages after feeling he's been on the unfair side of a few decisions in the sport as well....not even trying to justify roiding or cheating, but let's not act like Marquez haven't been getting sh1tted on by the top two attractions....Floyd got him on the scales and Pac got him on the cards....Marquez was supposed to have MINIMUM one win going into the fourth fight against Pac IMO
after CLEARLY winning the third fight and getting robbed for probably the second time in three fights against Pac.....dude was smart enough to know that knocking Pac out was the ONLY way he could win....so he probably got the Memo juice to help him out a bit.....MOST fighters who cheat do it because they're NOT good enough, Marquez probably doing it because he's sick and tired of playing fair in a unfair game
I NEVER thought Pac was juicing but it was definitely fishy signs coming from that side....I HOPE Marquez is not juicing but there's fishy signs and a VERY fishy SC trainer on his team....TEST their asses IF part 5 becomes reality!!
How you figure JMM should've had at least one win going into the fourth fight? He didn't do enough to earn a win in any of their previous fights and was lucky he came in with a draw! I never suspected him (JMM) of juicing but those pimples on his normally acne-free chest shots sure do raise an eyebrow... I for one am glad they will be requesting VADA. Watch and see now Juan certainly won't take the fight... Sad... As with his incessant whining, this will taint his career.
LOOOL that was epic! And sadly true
Then explain why Juan's face looked like a bruised turd after the fight and Manny looked
like he just had a light sparring session? Or why in three fights he managed to be laying flat on his back instead of on his feat four times? Secretly Marquez knows he lost twice with a gift draw and thats why psychologically he keeps on wanting that next rematch to try to avenge and save face (what little he has left).
Floyd seems like letting a little of his true personality shine here IMO. Sure he's a trash-talking entertaining dude before the fight as hype but... I think when he speaks about his family it's a touch into the personal side that I believe he'd rather keep personal. He's throwing crumbs out such as to allude to the fact that his days as a pro-boxer are coming to an end, and very soon. In this economy I'm certain I'll be working til the day I die, but I always make time for my family as I am a father of 2 myself. I imagine floyd's lifestyle is a whole nother animal compared to the average joe, akin to something like the life of a rockstar with late night parties with beiber and when he's not doing that I believe he's training hard-core in the gym sooo.. He's undoubtedly he's looking to the horizon for something different for himself and his family..
grandpa Marquez lacks power at ww, and he won... :bottle:
Well, Marquez officially won and he deserves all the credit for doing as much.. Oh I forgot to mention this is based on Paccgod's scorecard, yes on this dude's scorecard he won but in reality he really lost awwwhh sorry didn't mean to piss on your fantasy island party bud... Bradley better be motivated to not get pwned this weekend...
While the fight has not been officially announced, a rematch between the sports pound for pound king Floyd “Money” Mayweather and Marcos “Chino” Maidana looks likely to take place on September 13th at a site yet to be determined. Mayweather himself said he would be fighting Maidana a second time when he was interviewed at the BET Awards red carpet last week.
Their first encounter proved to be an exciting affair but the big story heading into the fight was there was probably not going to be a fight at all as Team Mayweather had an issue with the gloves Maidana was going to use in the fight. The padding in Maidana’s custom Everlast MX gloves were called into question by Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe and even a second pair approved by the commission was rejected by Team Mayweather.

Too many threads to read but just a word... Maidana might, just may have Mayweather's number, this fight would tell the tale, FMJ don't usually do rematches much (historically speaking).
this is like p0rn to p4ctards
Roy knows, styles make fights haha! RJJ vs MP means 20 years of "fighter of the decade" in one ring, it would be EPIC! I only hope the stadium would be able to withold all the power in that square!
Lampley and Kellerman agree
Lampley, Kellerman both agree a 5th fight would be a great fight (providing JMM grabs his balls and accepts). Hope it comes to fruition.
Yeah Kuntz I'm sure you'll be thrilled cause what little you did for PAC you won't have even that much to worry about anymore... You big friggin leech... Oh great and wise advisor, tell me how great you are to let your #1 fighter go into a fight against floyd with a "supposed" torn rotator cuff, please enlighten us? Doosh bag...
Manny isn't stopping anything, please lol. Manny has knocked JMM down 4 times in the first 2 fights when Manny was at his absolute monster prime and he still could not keep JMM down. The last fight in Nov '11 he couldn't even drop or faze JMM. No way in hell Manny stops JMM. JMM either stops Manny or loses another BS decision AGAIN. I hope JMM lays his ass out cold this time.
War Dinamita!
Well that ain't happening I can tell you that for sure. Roach will come up with a gameplan (if he hasn't already), Marquez's age will catch up with him, Pac's training in LA the whole time will pay off, watch and see, Marquez is gonna get his nuts flattened this time, it's gonna be great. Will have popcorn and soda in hand.
I wonder why no talk is being made about Cotto-Lara?? Honestly I think that's close close fight, more so than Lara-Alvarez at this point but I'd even tip Cotto to win vs Lara (foty candidate I'm sure) because on the 12th I can't help but go with Lara over Alvarez. TBH at this point I don't really see too many people beating Cotto at JMW (this includes floyd) if anybody at all. Cotto belongs at junior middle and it seems like ppl will avoid him now.
What is boxing and this website gonna do when floyd and manny retire? Serious question... Not a lot of other boxers out there bring this much coverage and attention
Man... Lol.. Lara getting real, and quick.... Too bad for Canelo cause Es is the real deal and will probably actually do what he says and bust saul's mouth.. and nose, and possibly black an eye.
Good stuff right here, beat Marquez again as a tune-up for Floyd late next year.
That is unless both camps are too scared which seems to be the case as of here
lately. Everyone scared to fight Pac except the little-dogs needing a paycheck!
Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport is confident with Kell Brook's ability to finish off IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter (24-0-1, 15KOs) inside of twelve round rounds on August 16th at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. Brook, the undefeated mandatory challenger to the title, has stopped 22 of 32 opponents inside the distance. Brook stopped six of his last eight opponents and rides a four fight streak of victories by TKO.

Better put some hotsauce on that statement Hearn cause yo a$$ gonna be eatin' those words, ya hear me? :killyou:
I spread all of my Red K in this thread.
Marquez is one of the greatest "Mexican" fighters of all time. Pacquiao could arguably be in the top 25 greatest boxers of all time and IMO, even still after the KO I'm not convinced Marquez is better than Pacquiao. He more or less even'd the score those two are pretty much equal. Sure Marquez Knocked him out and got a KD on Pac, but Pac still managed to put Juan down 5 times throughout their quadrilogy. They share a lot of rounds in 4 fights but I'm a Pac fan and always favored his aggression over Marquez's lax'd style. And I still vehemently believe aside from Pac's one round lead over Juan in the 4th fight that Marquez would have certainly been stopped before the 10th.
Ask Morales what happened when he beat Pac in the aftermath of the rematch and rubber matches? That was the last actual "real" fight Manny lost too so "if" Pac decides to go the Badley route then lookout Tim because Manny's gonna have your head on his mantle along with all his other inumerous trophies/awards. Lol literally he will knock Tim's head off his shoulders, jar it and put it in his trophy case. HAHA!
