With Brandon Rios’ opponent Diego Chaves finally being cleared for a visa to be able to travel and fight in Las Vegas this Saturday night, the focus shifts back to the possible war both these fighters are expected to put on.

Both Rios and Chaves have come forward styles and have power in both hands which is the perfect recipe for an all-out slugfest.

When BoxingScene spoke to Rios he was asked what he expected from Chaves on fight night considering the high expectations for this bout. While fans might expect Chaves to war, Rios expects something different.

“He’s probably going to feel the power and feel the pressure and then he’s going to run. I’m pretty sure he’s going to try to run and try to box me” said Rios. “But it’s alright. Everybody thinks that I can’t fight a boxer but I can. It’s just my last two fights it was different styles. Alvarado he really didn’t box. He ran most of the time and Pacquiao, he’s just a unique fighter”.

Chaves proved he’s a true slugger when he faced a similar knockout artist like himself against Keith “One Time” Thurman exactly a year ago. Regardless if Chaves boxes or slugs against Rios, Brandon is prepared to show the world that he’s far from done.

“I’m going to go in there and show everybody that I still have a lot of gas in my tank and I’m not done yet. It’s not even half way empty, it’s still full.  I’m still young in this sport and I’m ready. It just happens in my last fights I got too comfortable and I forgot what drove me there. I blame it on me and I don’t blame anybody else. I got back down to earth and I’m ready now” Rios would tell BoxingScene.

Rios’ aggressive style garnered him popularity as his fights often resulted in exciting affairs and going into this fight, his mindset is no different. He only has one thing in his head going into the ring Saturday night.

“I’m ready to go out there and show the world that I’m not done yet. So what’s going on in my mind right now is war baby. The mentality of a warrior. The mentality that I’m going to go in there to kill and seek blood. That’s the mentality I have right now”.

Rios will try to score his first victory since 2012 and avoid losing three fights in a row. He believes this fight will put him back in the mix and prove he’s still the same Bam Bam from before.
