I think was he was saying is that, in your list, the Judah and Balodmir fights look like they're under the 140 heading.
Anyway, I think Floyd had a pretty good career at the lower weights. He was doing decently. I mean- almost no fighter takes on solely top ranked fighters and honestly there weren't many at 130 that Floyd evaded. He took on pretty much everything out there.
Admittedly, he has faced the weaker names at the higher weights. It does look a bit suspect. We'll see where he goes from here.
Popo and Casa were available...to not leave roon for questions....
werent the mitchell judah and baldy fights at 147?
and judah was #1 at welter when they were supposed to meet, and since everyone took the baldy loss as a fluke, It was still acceptable that floyd take the money and fight judah
They are there....read please....!!!!
Two things you have wrong:
1. Floyd didn't get floored against Hernandez. He hit Hernandez with a right and hurt his hand. It was the 1st time he had hurt it that bad and went down on a knee, thus a KD. He didn't even get hit with a punch.
2. N'Dou was not at the end of his career. He was diagnosed with some disease (I forget what it was) and was forced to retire. He could've been killed had he fought again.
As for the guys he didn't fight, he would've demolished Johnston (just my opinion, but I think everyone would agree), Hatton turned him down, Arum said he wouldn't put Cotto in the rind with him (at the time), and Tszyu was a possibility. I don't know if Kostya was ever offered a fight, but Floyd had talked about fighting him before Hatton beat him and even to a lesser extent since.
Good analysis other than those few things. Thanks for taking the time to do it.
I agree, it was his hand.....Ndou was already ill when he fought PBF, nevertheless he was not top shelf....
Man nobody welcome me.....WTF...instead they started to accused me of being a poster that got banned I guess!!! Dang.......never to late to welcome me....
Welcome Orishaman!!! We knew you weren't Bozo but the members here make alternate accounts all the time so people are always skeptical of controversial new posters.
Welcome CLARENCE keep us updated on your progress.
I am touch......thanks!!!!
Controversial....wassup with that!!!
that was his only title defense in his 1st reign that was entertaining to me, from start to finish.
the others before his exile, and even quite a few after them, you would get to see some amazing things, but you had to sit through a boring fight to get to those things.
It was not an exile, it was a banning...and how about...Liston I or II, how about Ernire "What's my name" Terrel...or the interesting fight with Henry Cooper
I once bite the nose of a cat on a street fight, big dude, fucked him up, got him on the floor, between the sidewalk and the wall , going to town, and people that try to break the fight jump on top of me to pull me away from the cat, and they pull me by my arms so I could punch him anymore, as they push me back he launch forward I taught he was going to headbutrt me and I proceded to bite his f...ing nose....The cat was about 6'3 and 250, me 6'1 , 190 ...fuc....him up!!!
I was never an amatuer or a pro, but i sparred a lot with guys that were in the amatuer ranks.
And i boxed competitively in my gym for a lot of child hood. Just to keep in shape and it made feel like i was doin something important.
Boxing is a very healthy sport to participate in if u wear the equiptment, if someone disagrees they dont know what they are talking about
Boxing is the best workout that anyone can have you are doing all elements of a good worklout from streghtening, resistance training, aerobics...keeping the muscles limb and lose....
Ive had 5fights, lost my last 1 tho! That was about a year ago, not fought since! My trainning has been eratic as hell too, im gonna get back and start takin it serious again in the new year, i was kinda the main sparring partner for the Scottish light middle champ
Dammit that's why you lost your last fight...Boxing is life...you trained daily , train hard and you always be in shape....for your next fight always...that';s what I do with my boxers I train and myself!!!
Get out of here with that shit. Floyd Mayweather right now is top 20 all-time at worst. He dominated everyone he fought. The only reason I don't have him top 5 is because his era was weak. He didn't have someone anywhere near his skill level at his best weights that was willing to step up. If he had a Duran, Hearns, and Leonard to face in this era at 130 or 135, he would be easily top 5 all-time...
Nope he is not...
I box in PR since I was 12 on Silver Gloves, had a chance to train under some great coaches including Gregory Benitez, Wilfred's Dad, I have about 87 amateur fights until I was 18 years, won 72 of them....started boxing seriously again at the pro level when I was on my late 20's, until I was 42, my records was 12-3-1 with 9KO's...and now I am training boxers....mostly pro...amateur coaching is a different game...
Well; luckily where im from not many people play that shit! Im cool wit the most of the clowns that do!
Me too, but it is a reality that;s so ever present.......you got to be careful....
DelaHoya a counten sous....love the color commentar the German Larry Merchant....
the punch was short compact but the way he flet it almost doesn't look real....
I don't know.
But Oscar did react differently than most guys who take paralyzing body shots to the liver or solar plexus, ribs, or whatever.
I always see guys freeze in pain, not roll around.
Exactly my point....it is pure physics when you get hit on the liver and you don;t fill your lower body you collapse imidietly usually to your knees not rolling on the ground like a chin shot....
The world is about the WORLD CHAMP. The US isn't neccessary for someone to be world champion.
Let me just say this: Sure you can win world title anywhere in the world, no doubt, but to be LEGITIMIZE ou need to make your mark in the USA..this is not an attack on Euro or Brit boxing or any other place in the world, but is a fact...Manny Pacquiao won title in the PI's but it was not until he won the title over Lebwada in the USA and HBO that he shot into STARDOME....itm is a fact....
at the end of the day first and foremost boxing is a buisiness!
you fight where the money is doesnt matter wether thats in dreamland or disney land you fight where the money is.
joe calzaghe isnt earning massive money but at the end of the day hel earn more selling out arenas in the uk then fighting on undercards of ppv fights or topping the bill in a smaller venue in america. thats why to fight in the us hel need to top the bill of a major fight with hopkins or taylor and either fight looks very unlikely atm.
hatton is earning more money now due to the fact hbo is chipping in to hes purse and hbo want him to fight in the us so like i stated at the top you fight where the money is.
but with hbo very interested in joe calzaghe now id expect him to fight there at least once before he retires
I agree but we are not talking money, we are talking recognition, to be the Legitimize as a champ...
The US may be seen as the be all and end all for Puerto Ricans, but Germany and the UK are big places and have Boxing markets that are perfectly standalone. Of course Germany is even more crooked than the USA when it comes to Boxing, but they've had some successful fighters.
In an ideal world, boxers would fight around the globe. Unfortunately that isn't going to happen.
I am not saying they don;lt have markets that revenue in similar fashion to the US, it not about that I been in Europe and UK plenty of times, and Japan has a similar boxing market, etc....but the fact is that in order to be recognized World Wide yu ahve to do it as boxer thru the USA.....that's what I am saying...in the US who the fu** care about the European Champ or the Brit Champ or the Irish Champ, here in the USA is about the WORLD CHAMP and Ricky and Joe C definitevely have the credentials to do that!!
Their boxing careers have already peaked and have gone back down to a non recoverable status in my opinion... I would rather see a different fight, especially some new prospect.
Ok let me defined it for you:
Shot fighter: one that has lost its ability to assimilate punishment....

what do you think this match up looks like intersting.
I think it should be done at 2007 on espn
The billing:
The battle of the shots.....lets see who will shot first...
Please dud...these 2 guys are shot.......
I know we've all been wondering what the fuck is going on with these 4 guys and their next fights. I spoke with Luis Collazo's publicist and he said that the Mosley-Collazo fight was right there, almost made, but last minute the Mosley camp chose Cintron. Now I'm being informed that the IBF owes Cintron 100 grand from the last fight and that no contract has been signed.
So with Collazo the odd man out again, street teams have been assigned in Puerto Rico to build hype for a clash with Collazo and Cotto in the summer. Optimistically, that fight would generate a huge fuss in NY but realistically, Arum isn't going to get along with Collazo promoter Don King so Cotto-Margarito is looking much more possible.
Hopefully in the next week this can all be resolved and we'll see whats going on.
I am tired of this match up between Boricuas knocking each other out of the picture!!!
but boxing is a buisiness.
its a job and look at it his way

wow some boxing fans are dumb, of course both are shot duh mothafuckas we know that! But since they are shot and still hanging on i rather see them in a great fight aginst 1 another, then tryin to fight the heir apparents to the division!
Dude if you are boxing fan and have box in you life, then you understand clearly why this would be sad day for boxing.....to shot fighters tryig to basically incapacite each other for the rest of their life, exactly what we need in boxing ..just another tragedy...great!! Yeap you are a boxing fan...:nonono:
