Never, because he never ducked him. Thurman is rated 5th at 147, not 1st at 147. Sure, Floyd should have fought someone better than Berto. Berto is much better than Thurman's last opponent, Collazo. Mayweather recently beat Pacquiao who was ranked ahead of Thurman. Thurman has yet to fight a top 6 welterweight. He needs to beat a Porter or Maidana or Khan or Brook or Garcia before he can complain about not getting the big fights. His best win is Guerrero and that just isn't that big of win.
So then Guerrero on floyds resume means????
lol been forgotten about the man who singlehandedly destroyed boxing... he said it himself... the sport must be doing bad when rousey is on the cover.... lol
boxing is like WWE now...
honestly.... boxing is kinda dead.. only a handful of prospects to actually watch... garcia(lol), thurman, spence, porter(meh), brook(untested), floyd(plz retire), Manny(plz retire), then a bunch of nobodies nobody really knows lol. UFC's Connor fight is worth watching over the people i just mentioned.:headbang:
Lol yes anybody can fight berto... Floyd fighting him is an insult to those that can before him. Berto is not a good fighter and honestly I personally don't think he ever was. But if Floyd fights him and looks bad uncle Jeff.. Then it only serves to prove that Floyd isn't that great and has hand picked his opposition.
Fight was so bad I fell asleep and woke up to hear he was retiring at first I thought I was dreaming then I knew I wasn't when he said "ummm I don't want to rank myself" then I knew he was gone forever and boxings dark days are behind us and there is greener grass on the other side.
If you thought Floyd was gonna stand flat footed and fight, the idiot is YOU!
Lol Floyd said it best himself... "You can only judge a man off his last performance" and by God it was awful... You can't seriously say without bias of course that Floyd performed great ? Smh... Be a boxing fan not a persons fan...
All I know is that mayweather ran, clinched, used illegal elbows, and managed to turn in possibly the most boring fight of his career. This was no "masterclass" and it was certainly no "art". It was an aging fighter, going up against a handpicked fighter who was 3-3 in his last 6 fights, and he still managed to get tagged all night by berto's jabs, and he ate a few overhand rights. Of course the *****s will start a circle jerk for the next 2-3 days, but at least this is the end of such a crappy era. Good riddance. I 100% agree.
Honestly Nacho... Nobody misses Floyd and rightfully so because his fights were the most lackluster of the past 10 years... I for one am not a Floyd fanatic but I do enjoy watching the undercard fights on his events. That fact that he has retired is a beacon of hope in the sport where only he in his own mind believes that not taking punishment is "good" for the sport... Good for the fighter terrible for the sport as a whole...
Bro... Erik morales thinks he's Einstein.. No **** Sherlock... This fight is not competitive and I will not waste a Saturday night watching this garbage that will put me to bed early... Mayweather is not knocking anybody out at this stage.. the day to his retirement couldn't come soon enough... When the fights over I'll just watch the post fight interview on YouTube and enjoy the words " yes this is my last fight I wanna thank god.... Blah blah blah..."
Can You honestly look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that you actually enjoyed and were in awe of mayweathers performance against Berto ? ... ... I seriously doubt that you can... The commentators are paid to be in his favor... But you? Seriously? How can you possibly think that this performance... Is anything... But terrible.
So Alvarez wasn't in top shape and strong. Love to hear your excuse for this one. Oh yeah I know he was "green". You *******s are so predictable.
Lol no he wasn't at 152... Sorry but if you think a guy who walks around 160+ is in top form at 152... Then keep telling yourself he fought a tip top Canelo.
Floyd's calling card is to game the points system.
do just enough to score points then excessively clinch or run.
He's not a master boxer,
he's a master spoiler.
Add his sabotaging of fighters gloves, waiting till the last minute to announce his opponent while already training in order to sabotage his opponents some more, fake retirements to avoid loaded divisions, catcweights, shameless cherry picking, hiring memo heredia then hiring alex ariza via proxy just in case he fails a test he can blame pacquiao's former trainer, illegal iv drips that are deemed as ped masking maneuvers popularized by lance armstrong.......
even people who are in the al haymon floyd payroll are waking up to it.
Floyd being p4p #1 was one of the biggest scams perpetrated in boxing history.
He did it through sheer ignorance of the american population using slick marketing campaigns, fights vs inferior overrated opponents and of course acting like a complete wanna be gangster buffoon aka fake bad guy personality to sell ppvs and to hook low IQ fans who are suckers for the wanksta fake thug athlete. I like the theory and could be true.
The man said it best himself... "You can only judge a man on his last performance" - Floyd jr. Now by that logic... You have officially ruined your legacy especially by blaming PAC for the boring result of your fight with him... It's obvious it was you who made it boring as it is apparent that even with an 18-1 underdog you couldn't do better than your jab and clinch style... Please just leave and never come back.
I'm still laughing @ how Floyd had Berto hurt near the end of the fight, yet upon hearing the 10 second warning, ran away with his hands in the air. He could have ended it with a bang but instead, his usual bitch ass took the sissy road.
I second that he could've finished berto but instead chose to run like he accomplished a great feat lol
damn when will this guy retire already im tired of coming on here and seeing articles on this guy mayweather like he's actually doing something good for boxing. just retire already so we can start watching good fighters lay claim to being the best and not a "cherry Picker" in his own words... and before someone thinks im a pacfan im not im a boxing fan and honestly he's ruined boxing.
The sooner we stop talking about Floyd the faster the boxing world can recover from his antics of not fighting the best available competition. I don't miss him and never will just make way for the new era in which they don't take after the Floyd monicker of fighting chumps that are beatable by a large margin
There is no clear 1 with him retired. Speaks volumes for how great he was/is.
He retired a little over a week ago. Give it time and he will get his respect :boxing::boxing:
Respect for what? Being smart or being undefeated ? Because it will never be for being the best boxer that's for sure.
Why would GGG go up to fight ward? If ward really wants the fight he'll come down to 160 just like ggg is willing to go down to 154 to fight Floyd.. If you want the fight chase the man at his weight class .
Honestly if you so called boxing fans aren't excited for this fight after such a dull safety first styled era of boxing for the last 10-15 years.. Then you aren't boxing fans you're just fans of a particular boxer. This fight is what boxing should be every time a boxer steps in the ring... Not the jab to a decision mindset... That kind of mentality is what made an entire generation turn off boxing and open the door for UFC fighters to gain popularity. This right here is what boxing was thought up to be... Let's go
lol thanks for the reminder floyd but i dont think they will buy it anyway... i for one am streaming it for free in hd... "damn i missed the fight" was never said by anyone where floyd jr was involved in a boxing match.
Lmao.... Wow... What will Floyd think of next... This guy really thinks beating PAC made him tbe lol that's like Lewis thinking he was the best by beating Tyson... Damn what happened to boxing ... Aldo vs mcgregor anyone ? Lol
to 'the hack' - mediocrity is where brook lives - true he could beat khan - but anyone can hahahahahaha - porter could have went either way - and he's junior grade - welterweights are not as exciting anymore now that floyds gone - brooks like hatton - gone soon - kisses darling :)*
Wow you must be trolling with the "welterweights aren't exciting now that floyds gone" lmao THEY ARE exciting now that floyds gone... Floyd hate him or love him is a boring fighter PERIOD. No matter how you slice it he's undefeated and hella boring to watch. With that said lets see the real FIGHTS to come. Not illegal moves galore.
What a waste of a Saturday night. I will not tune in and watch the replay of Bertie getting whooped. Then I'll watch again in Sunday to put me to bed since it will be so boring to get up for work early the next day. Thank you mayweather for having such a boring style that I can always get a good night sleep while watching your boring fights.
