Very promising news. I was fearing the worst and am relieved to hear this. I hope there is a GoFundMe or something set up to help her out. I will be looking for one.
I think women's boxing needs to be regulated better. With mens boxing their are levels - world class, Very good, good, average, below average, poor, and they are matched generally on their level or within 1 grade of their level, that's how people rise. But women's boxing there is world class - less than 10 boxers. Good - maybe filling about 10%. then an extreme drop off. so we could have someone 6-0, fighting someone 2-0, 2-2, 1-0, etc, and it might seem like an even fight on paper, but the levels of women's boxing are so extreme, one person could be 100 times better than their opponent.
The bottom end, low 25% of men, are journeyman who can survice rounds. The bottom end 40% of women, are people who look and fight and protect themeselves like they've never had a fight in their lives. I think video footage (fights/sparring) needs to be viewed in depth before women's fights at the unknown level get made, as you could be putting in someone who can really fight, with a sitting duck, and you'd not know that just by looking at their records, as for example, the sitting duck, might have fought a sitting duck or two and won, then is put into a fight, fighting some 10 levels above them in reality.
