Does Usyk deserve to be P4P number 1?

- Activity: He's fought only once in the last 1.5 years. - Mandatory defenses: WBO: Joseph Parker was ordered as the mandatory, but after delays, Usyk vacated the belt. IBF/WBA: Usyk has gotton special exemptions to keep his belt and not fight any mandatories. WBC: Agit Kabayel is the designated mandatory challenger, but Usyk did not accept. Instead WBC names a a retired kickboxer, with 1 pro boxing fight, for the WBC defense. - Quality of next opponent: a retired kickboxer named RICO from the Netherlands with 1 pro boxing fight. WBC is questionable to say the least. *Retired, semi-retired, call it what you want. But if you're not a the top of game in terms of activity and competition, STEP ASIDE.

This fight shouldn’t even be sanctioned, certainly not by any belt organization. This should be labeled as an exhibition match.

Yeah he deserves it. P4P is subjective - for me he beat the best in 2 divisions to become undisputed, regularly wins in others backyards, is the most skillful boxer in the sport and has not exhibited any signs of weakness up to now. Those reasons cement his place at P4P #1

Rico Verhoeven is a 36 yr old retired kickboxer. He has a 1-0 boxing record. His lone win is in 2014 vs an opponent named Janos Finfera of Belgium with a 0-6 record. Finfera has been KOed 6 times in his 6 bouts. WBC Rico Verhoeven is fighting for the WBC championship belt. He is for some miraculous reason, prioritized over every other top 10 boxer who has spent their careers in the sport. A clear promotional circus fight, even worse than Jake Paul. WBO Usyk refused to fight the mandatory Wardley for the WBO defense, and was stripped. WBA & IBF Neither the WBA nor IBF has not required Usyk to defned his belt for a year and a half. If you're not fighting the best guys in your division, then you don't deserve to be the current P4P #1. Usyk is clearly resting on his laurels and cherry picking his opponents.

No2 at least. He's best a couple of best heavyweights of recent times But he's not cleaned up division yet..Best kabayel and fabio, and then usyk is no1 above inoue

Of course he is. He's exactly the reason why P4P was invented. 'If everyone was the same size, who would win'. It's supposed to be hypothetical. Usyk made it so it no longer is. I think what you're really asking is, is whether he should be regarded the best boxer in the world because of his inactivity. That's debatable. Whether he's Pound for Pound one of greatest ever cannot be doubted.

He's put in too much work not to be. 1. He never has a "home" fight & is always on the road. 2. He's dispatched just about all of the best fighters of his generation, some multiple times. 3. He's undefeated/undisputed in 2 different weight divisions. Now, that Bud's gone, it's pretty obvious who the P4P king is.
