Put head down, blind left hook, repeat.
Using head movement to slip punches, dude.
No chin, no power, 205lbs, chubby, half blind, 5'10", no other credible wins other than against an overrated Ali in a clinch fest.
...You don't know squat about Ali or Frazier if you say either one of those guys were overrated.
Frazier possibly the most overrated boxer of all time.
In fact the ONLY reason Frazier is famous at all is because of Ali (and getting destroyed by Foreman) and still being praised today to "maintain the fame" of the 70's HW's.
Unlike you, people recognize Ali as the great boxer he was and Frazier's huge accomplishment of beating somebody like him.
What happened to him against Foreman is basically what would happen to Frazier against any hard hitting and strong HW from the 90's, 00's and 10's.
Right, because boxing has SO many George Foremans, right?
Hopkin's resume is legit and nobody can truly question it, unlike Floyd's.
This thread was made before he fought Pacquiao. But either way, both BHOP and Mayweather >>> Pacquiao.
Neither Pacquiao or Hopkins are cheaters so it's really:
BHOP and Pacquiao >>> Mayweather
If a fight shows some flaws in a fighter's skills, then I'd say he's exposed.
In this case, whether it was by Gamboa or not, I say Davis was exposed. He definitely seems to be having trouble going 12 rounds and unlike Gamboa, guys like Loma and Lopez aren't going allow him to get his second wind.
Yeah, I thought Commey beat Easter too. I remember seeing that fight. I thought either he won or it was a draw. I don't see how they gave that to Easter.
You are only viewing what Golovkin is doing. I was rooting for him but the first half was won by canelo. The second was like 3-3.
Even at round 7 abel told GGG they’re losing.
I'm looking at what both of them were doing. Canelo didn't do as much as many people were saying and Abel could have just been saying that to make Golovkin fight better. Though considering how shady things are, I wouldn't be surprised if he thought they were going to give it to Canelo no matter what.
So 36 yr old Floyd, should have waited til he was 41 to fight Canelo, because it would make u feel better...got it.
To bad Canelo thought otherwise when he called him out after Cintron fight and his fans thought so in comments, pre excuse.
You got anymore words you want to put in my mouth?
Why do people keep saying Canelo "backed GGG up" when that never happened? And besides, this Canelo is a much better fighter than the one Floyd fought.
I hate to admit it (because I happen to think that Floyd made sure he got to Canelo before Saul got good enough to compete with him) but the OP has a point.
This makes Floyd look even better.
Did Floyd have Canelo running like Golovkin did in the first fight? Nope.
Did Floyd even cut up Canelo's face like Golovkin did in this fight? Nope.
Did Floyd fight a well-prepared Canelo like Golovkin did in both fights? Nope.
Did Floyd even have Canelo hurt like Golovkin did in both fights? Nope.
In addition to that, unlike both Floyd and Canelo, I don't see Golovkin's career tainted by any evidence that he's a cheat.
Sorry but i guess you smoked a bigger Joint than AJ in my Avatar does.
No, I just happen to use my eyes, unlike everybody else who claimed Canelo somehow "won" that fight.
All I know is Floyd won decisively versus Canelo.
Seems G has a problem doing that.
GGG did it twice against a better version of Canelo than the one Floyd fought.
Nah listen to abel right now. He’s not even complaining.
It was a close fight. And Canelo closed to the show in round 12 when GGG put his foot off the gas, he was winning that round
At that point it was 4 rounds to 3
I think you need to rewatch it
I did. It still was a clear win for Golovkin. It wasn't as close people say it is. The 12th round was definitely a Golovkin round. I don't see how anybody gave that round to Canelo.
Better in what respect? Canelo is still largely the same fighter IMO.
A bigger, more experienced Canelo that's more properly prepared for a fight? Yeah, in that respect.
Did GGG take Canelo to school for 10-12 rounds like Floyd did in either of his attempts?
Did Canelo properly prepare himself for Floyd like he did for Golovkin?
I swear to god I think I should join you. I mean robbing a man on the tail end of his career twice. I had it 8 4 ggg both fights. Fuk this *****. I know its independence week and the whole event is Mexican, even Michael Buffer was Mexican, but give the man a fair shake.
This is why I've pretty much moved on to MMA. A lot less bullcrap corruption to put up with.
Which rounds did GGG won in the first half? I was rooting for him as well and I didn’t see it
The first round was very obvious because Golovkin was outlanding him with his jabs while Canelo was actually missing a lot of his shots.
The second round could have gone to Canelo but Golovkin made it real close near the end.
The third round was definitely Golovkin. He was jabbing Canelo almost at will. Heck, at one point, it was Canelo was moving backwards (but only briefly, though).
The fourth round, Golovkin was not only jabbing him nearly the entire round but he even landed an uppercut. Meanwhile, Canelo's best moments were only about two bodyshots in that round and had a brief rally.
The fifth round, by this point, Canelo is cut. Despite that, this round was a little even as they both at one point land a hard shot (Golovkin with a right uppercut and Canelo with a right hook) but in the end, Golovkin's jabs are still landing more consistently while Canelo can barely land a few of his own and only one body shot at best.
Another thing people don't point out is that Golovkin was blocking and rolling with some of those shots too.
And that's just rounds 1 through 5.
People give Canelo too much credit for the body shots. Compared to the jabs that he was taking, he only landed a few and despite what so many people say, he didn't "back up" Golovkin. Unlike what Canelo did in the first fight, not once did Golovkin back up against the ropes or even looked like he was running. He continued to land numerous jabs and uppercuts while all Canelo could do was just walk forward and settle for a few shots at a time. Sure, Canelo did better than in the first fight but not enough for any honest person to say he beat Golovkin. It was a robbery, plain and simple.
