holy shít.
I could be mistaken, but I believe this could be the very first time ever that the President of Mexico shows interest in meeting a Mexican American boxer too
So Ruiz is makin all kinds of history here :boxing:
Marquez presented the gloves that knocked out Pacquiao to the Mexican President at the time.
I hope they did do 20K . I love when boxing events do well and sell out. If you're a fan of the sport you should too.
For sure. I’ve seen multiple fights at Staples and I paid to watch this great match up last night. I’m just curious about the actual numbers.
Do you have any proof of this? A screen shot or anyone else reporting it? Ryan has tweets saying he wants to fight and Steve reporting that Golden Boy is the one who can't schedule a fight until the manager issue is resolved not that Ryan is telling Golden boy he isn't fighting. Not calling you liar but need to see proof that Ryan is the one saying he won't fight.
Yeah actually I have the screen shot. If you of someone can pm me on how to crop it on to the forum and i’ll produce it.
Ryan deleted a couple of tweets last night.
“I’m not fighting until I get what I’m worth. Point blank. Period”
And
“I make in the deep 6 figures for social media deals on my IG. Boxing has to at least match that.”
I purchased my tickets a couple weeks back and I was tracking them too. They were definitely holding back tickets. I couldn’t find the price point I wanted until just recently. They definitely have some type of system and we’re holding some tickets back.
I don’t think we can use their website as an accurate gauge as to how the tickets are moving. We’ll officially get an idea soon enough.
A solid undercard announcement would ticket sales for sure.
Any news on that end?
Their little algorithm or whoever decided when to release secrions did a horrible job. I had to wait until 6 weeks out to even get tickets at the $207 price point. And then today, two weeks later, the same sections have dropped in price.
Who've you met?
I've only met Hatton face to face, i've never really tried to meet anyone tho. Anyways yes i bumped into Hatton in town a few years ago, i didn't wanna stop him as he looked busy but i thought damn, won't get this chance often and anyways he was a top bloke, i told him my dad would never believe this and he asked me to ring him(my dad), anyways my dad answers and ricky takes the phone and starts chatting
Anyone else got any decent storys?
Fighters i'd love to spend an hour talking to would be
Mike Tyson - How intresting would that be if he was let you ask anything.
Ali - Just to meet him would be incredible
Hatton - Although i've met him once i'd love to speak to him properly
Thats a cool story.
I had a chance to talk to Zab Judah. He was right next to me for a few minutes in the casino after Pac-Barrera 2. I was just getting into boxing then so I didnt really know who he was or why people were taking pictures with him. He was nice to the crowd though.
Whoever it is I doubt he'll have to do anything. These guys are comin to scrap. I just hope it ain't Cortez or Robert Byrd. I can't stand those 2 clowns.
lol yeah I was just hoping that it wasn't cortez either.
I'll stay neutral on this topic, but that was a pretty good letter by Shaw. While Shaw is a self serving prick, Rafael does come off as feeling very entitled.
I kinda get that vibe too when I go to the espn site.
I saw him at the Marg-Mosley fight sitting in the very front in the press row. Some better(IMO) writers for boxing were further back. I dont think he does enough for the sport to warrant having the best seat. I dont even think he did the round by round for that one.
He may need some support though. Before I found this site I got my news from him and the news came along way too slowly.
Im mexican and have been a DLH fan for a very long time. Tonight I am rooting for Pacman along with the rest of my family and friends.
Im at the point where I would root for pac against anyone except for maybe hatton and marquez.
After following Pacman's career and watching him fight live a couple of times it is hard not to respect and like the guy.
2002-07, i started with $100 and made it up to $6000. our family went on a little vacation with that money.
that’s incredible. I am only a little above 300 myself lol. Were there ever any times where you put more than half of your money down on a fight you felt good about? Or was it more of a careful betting thing?
Im just saying that if some people decided to come along with a friend who dragged them along to see this fight, what would they take from it?
I know it was bad luck though, especially after the streak HBO has been having but this is the first time that a big even has been brought up here and it was awful.
