He is a great fighter. You don't beat guys like Garcia and Porter without being elite. He just needed to shake off the ring rust.
Those guy's aren't elite man.
If your an elite you don't go life and death
with fighter's like Josesito. Ring rust and being
out for a few year's is one thing, but almost
getting knocked out by a journey man?
Why do people wanna see the ghost of pacman get killed.....
Get killed by who? Not Mikey that's for sure! If anything, it's Mikey that's gonna get a beating. If your name is not marquez then you aint sleeping pac and that's that.
Won't happen but just to add my 2 cents, why would Floyd fight Broner for? If Flod was gonna fight Broner he would have done it when Broner still had his "0".
At this point, a fight with Broner does nothing! And stop it with the whole "broner put people in those seats".. That's why Broner still aint headlight a PPV fight yet right?
The man is 36! Yes, even when he beat Vanes, he looked "old". I guess nobody can get old except for Floyd? When a fighter loses, it's not because he got old, he just sucks?
Sure that puts you at risk, I mean its f#cking boxing there is inherent risk by just getting in the ring to get KTFO, but the payoff was there for GGG much more than for Canelo countering with that approach.
In fact I think while Canelo would counter him early I think you shutdown Canelo's work rate & stamina to INSURE you don't get KO'd later & you could probably sweep the last 4 or so rounds with a good body attack early.
Most of GGG's jabs was missing Canelo. And those were just simple jabs. There is no way GGG could land a meaningful body shot on Canelo without getting smack in the head first. He knows this, that's why he avoided throwing body shots.
You forgot to mention the losses.
If it was just about who you fought Judah wouldve already won a fighter of the decade.
Thread says who has a better resume. Doesn't state wins/losses.
Body punching was a lost opportunity in both fights. Why you wouldn't work the body of a guy with known stamina problems is beyond my understanding.
Too slow to go to the body. He'll get counter all night and possibly get tko in the later rounds if he tried that. There's a reason why fighter's who are known to throw body shots, stopped throwing when in with a different opponent. Same for Manny early on in his career, would throw 100+ punches per round but once he's in with marquez, his work rate decline.
You forgot to mention the losses.
If it was just about who you fought Judah wouldve already won a fighter of the decade.
Why would Zab be fighter of the decade when the 2 best names on his resume is Floyd and Cotto only?
You are making my point for me. UFC fans are perfectly ok with this ****. Jones has tested positive multiple times, almost killed a pregnant women in a hit and run, he had cocaine in the car, plus other incidents i am not going to get into. Canelo is not remotely the same thing.
What he does outside of competing in the UFC is not in their power. And he was fine $205k and suspended for 15 months for the recent positive test. Now i asked you again, what happen to Canelo? How much did he has to pay? How long was he out for? He came back in 4 months! lol
In all honestly, Floyd and Manny doesn't need to fight anymore if they were smart with their money. There is no reason why someone should own more than 2 houses in a different country! In Floyd's cases, different houses in different states. There is no point of that! These houses aint small either, these are some million dollar mansions.
GGG did better than Marquez.
Marquez got his ass knocked down in every one of those close fights.
Agreed that Marquez got knocked down in all 4 fights but im talking about the politics. To me, GGG is in the same boat as Marquez when he's fighting against Canelo.
Idk about that. Jones got a 18 month suspension. AND he dropped a dime on a homie (or PED homie at least) to get it that low.
Tell me the boxers who've gotten more than a year suspension? Whatever that list is I bet I could come up with double the number of MMA guys who've gotten a year+ suspension. The UFC going hard on themselves insures that guys who f#ck up in MMA lose valuable time in their prime. Boxing is so much more lax on PED sh^t.
Yeah, Nick Diaz got like 3 years suspension for weed.
Does everyone recall when Tyson had his incident in the Holyfiled rematch. He was fined an incredible 3 million dollars for that incident and had his boxing license revoked. Conor Mcgregor attacks multiple fighters with weapons and he is fined nothing, the NYSAC fines him nothing, and he is not even suspended for 1 day.
Tyson bit a chuck off of Holyfield's ear during a fight!!!! How is this anywhere close to the circus act from Conor?
Stop it. Jfc fanboys need to give it a rest.
Serious question seeing that Canelo tested positive before! This is not just some disappointed fan boy making stuff up because GGG lost lol. I'm not a GGG fan, i'm just asking a honest question seeing how Canelo was fighting on the back foot in the first fight and was only fighting in spurt, but then in the rematch he came at GGG for all 12 rounds.
If he has money issues then he deserves it...gotta be stupid to earn almost a billion dollars and have money issues
I thought it was only Manny that was having money issues? I thought Floyd still has the check for the Manny fight that he aint even cash yet?
Roach is also done as a trainer. Fighters only flock to Freddie before because of Manny! When Manny was blazing through his opponents, that's what made other fighters go train with Freddie. Since the decline of Manny, a lot of fighters have left Roach already. I dont even think Roach has anyone worth mentioning at this moment?
Well, then Golovkin is in a jam, because he's never going to win a decision vs Canelo.
Nacho. I think Triple G needs to be with a more technical trainer. He's too slow to catch Canelo if he takes lead. So why not work on some counters? Let Canelo come to him and he can counter off of that. I think he has a better shot at catching Canelo clean this way, instead of going forward and trying to catch Canelo then.
I'm not gonna lie, in between rounds, Abel was trying to urge GGG to push the pace more. Abel was telling GGG all the right things! The only problem i see here is they probably didn't work on the things that GGG needed to do so during the fight, GGG couldnt figure how to get to Canelo without getting hit first. This is something that Abel should have worked with GGG in training.
