In a big title fight... to overcome the odds. I’m just curious.
Racking my brain coming up with even one Douglas -Tyson, Alvarez/kovalev, Lewis Rahman/McCall type upset.
Lots of people predicted Lacy to knock Calzaghe out, but of course things went the other way.
Massive underdog upsets don't tend to happen in general when it comes to any race. Don't really see the point of this thread...
I went to this fight and bet big on Calzaghe. They had betting windows inside the arena and even in the U.K Calzaghe was an underdog. He was always very underrated and to this day still under appreciated IMO. It's sad that his father just passed.
Among some of the biggest upsets in Boxing history was Schmeling-Louis I, Backus-Napoles I (though the master got his revenge) and some recent one's were Tszyu-Judah (another easy one to call yet he was a 3-1 dog), Hatton-Tszyu (4 or 5/1 I believe), Sanders-Wlad and Fury-Wlad. I think when Napoles lost his last fight to Stracey that was considered an upset but Napoles was an old man by then.

Horny against pac lol
Yes he was expected to get ethered. Americans either pretend that wasn't the case, or a lot of these morons today weren't fans back then.
We apparently didnt care as much as the UK guys did, it was a great win for the UK i guess....a momentous occasion for a brit to win a boxing match....woo hooo, there there, we dont know about a bar being that low, even in braveheart they lost, losers mentality i guess....:usaribbon
Froch was a big underdog against Bute, at least he was on here. Everyone thought Bute was a beast who would KO Carl within 5.
Bellew was an underdog against Makabu, but as others have said, not sure about this thread?
Like against a black fighter or just in general?? Cause Carl Froch was a big underdog against Lucain Bute and he knocked him out in 5. That's an obvious one.
Look man a gamble and Froch was not a big underdog so stop ✋ Bute was 8-13 Froch 6-4 hardly massive underdog
He was a huge underdog against Bute? How? He'd fought and beat better opposition
The Canadian is the odds-on favourite at 8/15 heading into Saturday night's bout against Carl Froch who's chalked up at 13/8. The man from Nottingham may be fighting on home turf but it's just 5/2 that Bute wins by KO or TKO
