Reading these forums everyday, very ocasionally I come across a thread that isn't people starting retarded threads asslicking particular fighters or making ridiculous and pointless claims. The people with reasoned and interesting posts should make a forum somewhere....Alas.
I'm excited about the Haye-Klit fight, both have weaknesses/qualitys/defeats etcetc thats why its exciting roll on June 20th
Audley Harrison can share some of the blame for the current state of boxing on British TV, after his first ten fights BBC dropped boxing from their schedule and its yet to return.
Guess we will know more tomorrow. I cant imagine its anything but genuine, if its not then he will lose more than just his shot at the title.
Chunk who is the girl in your avatar?
As in you think the fight is still on or hes deliberately pushed the fight back. Would be pretty shitty on his fans travelling over there if it is deliberate
I thought you may say that, the big Ortiz pic in your sig gave it away! ;) Being English I've seen more Khan than I have Ortiz so I won't argue too much but I remember him going down against some bum on the De La Hoya - Forbes card. Im on a hiding to nothing here trying to defend Khans chin aren't I? Don't even like the arrogant prick, I just wouldn't be so quick to write him off against a fellow prospect who has been in with slightly less quality.
At this moment in time we have nothing to base this matchup on other than previous opponents faced and the fact that they have fought before. As it stands Khans chances look good. But obviously it doesn't work like that and as people have said, Ortiz catches Khan flush its good night. Having said this its not like Khan doesn't have power/Ortiz has the worlds greatest chin!
He got dropped by a journeyman not a bum...
Without a tiny hint of sarcasm here....can someone explain to me the difference between a tomatoe can, bum, journeyman, gatekeeper etcetc and a specific fighter that defines that term. This could be a new thread?
Make sure there not doing the seat planning or you'll get a dodgy decision on where you end up!!
lol
Haha, will have to make sure I get in there early!
We are having to constantly remind my younger brother that doing a nazi salute is an arrestable offence in Germany. Once he has a few drinks....
I read or heard somewhere, possibly Bunce that there should be around 20k of Brits. The seating is seperated but I rushed to by my ticket and I've ended up with the Germans. Meh I don't mind. How often will I get to see an outdoor world heavyweight fight involving an English man and 70,000 fans in summer?
Next year when Haye fights Vitali ;)
Cool thanks for the suggestions I like idea of learning more about the Hearns/Hagler era so I'll go with on of those for sure. Also Don King interests me. Almost all these books bar the 4 kings are like 2 pounds on amazon keep em coming I'm sure I can stretch to like 20 for a few good books.
Oh I'm off to Germany for the Haye fight for a few days and then off to Benicasim for 10 days, plus its getting warm and being unemployed gives me plenty of time to sit in the garden....and read.
Like the Klitguys say really theres not much Klit can do to up his profile. He beats Haye its simply "Haye is a jumped up cruiserweight with a weak chin and totally unproven at heavyweight" beyond that who has he got to fight which could boost his profile. Arreola? Overweight/unproven... perhaps the only man is Chagaev and even then it would only be in Europe.
Bunce is great, when I had setanta I'd stay up way after the fights had ended just to listen to him trash the american interviewers, mainly Kellerman I think. The Judah/Calderon fights were prime examples of crap fights ending quick and then Bunce having to fill an hour or so with total bollocks. Prime viewing in my opinion, but I can see how he rubs people the wrong way, very forthright.
But surely if he loses to Abraham he will only have been beaten by one elite middleweight. If Abraham loses to Pavlik he will also only have been beaten by one elite middleweight. Does that mean Abraham is finished as well?
So.... Not sure what you are trying to prove here really. Everything you say is accurate to a point. Shall we all just give up on boxing and watch MMA then? I thought this was a boxing forum?
I really fail to see how Ward is in there ahead of Froch as well. The only thing Ward has over Froch is Kessler, in terms of competition beaten Froch is miles ahead. Having said this Ward is clearly the 'technically gifted' of the two.
These list make for endless discussion as it is so subjective, whats it based on exactly, competition beaten? If so we'd have Froch in the top 5. If its based entirely on skill could it potentially have novice guys in there, Gamboa?
