WBA supermiddleweight champion Mikkel Kessler today in sporten.dk assesses the premier opposition in his division:
Carl Froch: My dream opponent. Froch is the biggest name in Britain right now and also has a name in the states after he beat Jermain Taylor. It would be a huge euro-fight. Froch is slow, open and easy to hit. But he is also strong and a real fighter who keeps moving forward. We have 2 diffrent styles that should make for an entertaining fight.
Lucian Bute: This could be a superfight as well. But the question is if his got the guts to meet me?
Jermain Taylor: He fights real neat and could be an exiting opponent and he still has name recognition in the US.
Andre Direll: Full speed ahead. This guy is moving up the rankings. He keeps changing his position from orthodox to southpaw which gives his opponents trouble. It would be exiting to meet him in the states.
Andre Ward: Olympic gold in 2004. Ward is ackward bobbing and weaving. I don't fear him and he's a dull fighter.
Kessler had yet to step in the ring this year.
**what's the deal for those who know about his management problems
I remember hearing Mikkel had one fight left on the deal, but not sure how accurate that info is.
BUMP
According to Kessler there's one fight left. According to the Palle's there's still 3.
The dispute is headed for the court.

Bring it on then. I am sure Kessler gets the fight once The Cobra has brutaly kod Bute. Is Kessler in a possition to sign to fight at present??
He can talk all he wants but Froch is proving he wants only the big fights.
Where is Mikkel???
Kessler is probably not in a position to sign for anything. As long as his managerial dispute is unsettled the opponents team will not know who to negotiate with. It's a mess.

He's still wrong. In his eyes, Froch is the weakest title holder at 168.
I don't know about that. I would say Balsay is and Kessler didn't mention him.
LOL at Froch being the biggest name in Britain right now. He's a nobody here.
The thinking on Kessler's behalf was that Calzaghe retired and Hatton was destroyed. Kessler might not have heard about David Haye.
168 is sittin on a lotta excitin fights. Kessler can beat a lotta these guys so he should fukkin do it already. A Froch fight sounds gr8 and I'd favor him to win it.
mikkels always been willing to take on the best - seriously what does this guy have to fear? hes called out different fighters dawson, hopkins, taylor, calzaghe rematch, froch, johnson, in fact theres not a big name that he hasn't called out.
but caalling out and making the fights are two very different things, imo mikkel should just go with the flow, hes in his prime, stay busy with some wins, and see out his contract.
I've been telling everybody, Kessler has called out the big names over and over again but his management doesn't do anything.
To be fair the management has tried but did a lousy job trying................
It only his nasty old promoter that's holding him back.
Right. No news on that feud. Untill it's settled look for Kessler to staty inactive :(
It will be interesting to see how the negotiations between Palle (Kessler) and Kohl (Perdomo) pans out.
I would expect Kessler to travel abroad yet again for a fight in September/October.
