It always amazes me how people who sign up to a site like this ask questions like this.
If Mayweather fought a bunch of phone booth fights like Castillo Corrales would he have the record he has?
People don't even know when a fighter is doing something different vs when a fighter is MAKING his opponent do something different i.e. (CaneloGGG2)
Breakfast club.
He explained how he was buzzed. He gets hit, he was over there, but his body stays far from where he is.
He said his soul is not like in his body for like 2 seconds.
Just checked on YouTube, didn't see any DSG breakfast club interview..
I love how people overlook the fact that Spence chose to box Mikey after getting pissed when the legends stated Mikey was more skilled.
He didn't want to use his size or normal style. Otherwise he would have stopped Mikey
Not really. He tried to stop Mikey in what was it the 9th round iirc. He couldn't. It didn't help that Mikey was pretty much on defense the whole time. I heard Spence say on IG live the reason he didn't stop Mikey is because of the IBF's 10lb rehydration limit.
The life he was living outside of the ring which everyone knows about now, coincides with him not be able to stop Mikey. It all makes sense. For people who like to say that as an out or because Spence said that.. He also said he would stop Shawn, did he do it? He did come out more aggressive with Shawn, but he fought them fights the way he did mainly because he had too.
WooHoo I really want this fight, was pieced-off it got cancelled last time, these two had an interesting and funny public conference with Eddie Hearn.
These two together will be a barrel of laughs I can tell you that much and I don't even particularly like BJS
Hopefully BJS finds his pen & it happens.
Not sure what this has to do with Tyson calling a reporter 'white pvssy'
Sounds like you didn't click the links before commenting or you're trolling.
Lol "Terence is in trouble now", the elephant in the room is that ppl using him as a road block to get to Spence. When he beats Porter keep that same energy & that's to whoever. Don't downplay him or discredit the win. Cause quiet as kept Shawn really lost all his big fights aside from Alexander, (if that's considered a big fight.) But when Bud beats him, give him that same praise ya'll gave him for losing to Spence.
His mindset & things he gets away with in boxing makes him very unlikeable. He kept talking about "experience" vs Mayweather. Why didn't that matter when you fought Shane?
I'm gonna go on a rant/ramble a bit.
My favorite fighter currently & #2 of all time. Boxing is a popularity contest unfortunately. Many people see exactly what you see OP. I think Paulie Malignaggi broke it down the best: this is what can happen when you sign with the wrong promoter, he's a product of this shiťty business.
Even Abel Sanchez (not saying it would matter even if he didn't) but with what he said about black fighters, said Andrade was a star. He's made some mistakes himself, his upbringing hurts him a little as well in this instance... He also doesn't self promote. Ain't on social media often. But he don't deserve this typa treatment. At all. But that's boxing for you. It's a hot/cold game.
If gets a big name(s) before the end of his career. He could probably reach a Ward level of popularity but the superstar days have passed him. He would have to not only win but SHOW OUT vs Canelo or get in a war & beat him to be an actual superstar. Just winning wouldn't be enough I don't think. So it's really too late because you have to build that over time. He would gain a bunch of fans tho if he beats these names, even though he was who he was the whole time & to me it's so obvious.
Floyd when he fought DLH is a completely different level from when he fought Pac. Speaking of, I always wonder & still do, if Floyd knows about him. & if he did why wouldn't he try to sign him! The things Floyd coulda did for him man listen.... Everybody in the world should know a boxer this good.
It's really one of the saddest stories I seen in boxing. I get why Hagler was fed up with boxing & never fought after the SRL fight. I never seen anything like it cause I never lived through it. I could write a book about this topic, but ima leave it there.
most of the time floyd lands the cleaner harder punches but in the pac fight that was pac so i dont really understand what you mean he did the same thing to pac. pac did to floyd what floyd usually does to his opponents. make them hesitate and then pick them off with the cleaner shots. the scoring in that fight was nonsense. you can look at a round like round 7 where floyd lands 1 decent jab and pac lands about 6 hard shots and they score it for floyd. not much happened i guess floyd won that round...cept he didnt. this was a faded more tactical pac as well so im not even sure why you want credit for "beating" that version of pac. he waited until pac was much more tactical and then thought he could do what he always does...cept it didnt work(in reality) even his dad said he was losing after 10 rounds. credit is only given where credit is due and he simply did very little in that fight. lets not pretend that was something special. his worst performance by far even if you somehow thought he won
Smh, skimmed through your post. I was actually gonna give a legit response until I read, "worst performance & somehow thought he won." Just stop it man.
fighting style he even tries to knockout his opponents recently risking his defence and chin etc.
I did want to respond to this specifically tho. I've had conversations about this outside of here. I remember a dude telling me he fights reckless. This was yearsss ago when he was at 154! He's ALWAYS taken chances in fights. That's why I don't really like when ppl compare him to Lara. Andrade's whole style is a risk.
If you remember when he fought Kautondokwa & had the double KD that wasn't called. Paulie said that takes guts to punch inbetween someone else punching. He's always done stuff like this tho. I see fighters with lesser KO% getting called power punchers, while Andrade just gets called "a boxer." & I be feeling like "wow it must only be 12 ppl who agree with me or something." Them other guys, it be all they have to offer or all they go for is the KO. Andrade does so many different things in the ring man.
There was people who didn't believe Floyd was who he was until he did exactly what he did to everybody else - to Pacquiao. & you have the ppl who still will never give him credit. But until they see Andrade literally have a fight go almost identical to what he does now they won't give him credit.
But to the point, he always took risks the opponent just can't capitalize. & he's not a good finisher. Kautondokwa in the 4th, Sulecki in the 1st, & Keeler in the 1st or 2nd. If he woulda got them outta there in them rounds he hurt them, he'd probably have 50k more followers or something right now lol. Knockouts create more believers than 12 round decisions.
Jermall always had power
Smh, exactly.
& all WBC champs are enrolled in Vada. Idk about the J rock fight I believe there wasn't testing...
In boxing "having power" is constantly confused with the ability to "land punches." All you gotta do is listen to their mitt work & assess if they hit hard or not.
As for Jermell he goes more for the KO now from what I understand. He doesn't fight the way he has in previous fights. I don't view him as a monstrous puncher. But he has enough pop to get respect.
I guarantee you Lubin will also be stopped by people less skilled than him. Having a ****e chin doesn't make you a bad boxer.
It doesn't. But it lends credence to: they may not be as skilled as some such as yourself think they are. Lubin has already been stopped by a person less skilled than him. Soo.... Outside of Fundora, Hurd, or Charlo again. I don't see anybody less skilled than him with the capability to stop him. The main reason it's even a possibility is cause Lubin wasn't even fighting near this weight until his last amateur tournament iirc. Which is the same year he turned pro. Everybody he can & needs to fight for credibility are all the naturally bigger man.
Tired of this "boring" word. It would be very interesting cause we never seen Floyd fight a fighter with this much skill & a switch hitter. Reminds me of the Zab fight a little. I think Floyd's speed & reflexes would be the difference. But I wouldn't be surprised if Bud won.
Hmm..I was reading the daily bread article on here a couple weeks ago, and I remember him saying if Garcia beats Spence he’s a HOF
What’re y’alls thoughts?
I agree with this.
I was reading the daily bread article on here a couple weeks ago, and I remember him saying if Spence is the first guy to stop Garcia, then he’s a HOF.
Spence is probably one of my favorite active fighters, and I’ll be impressed if he stops Garcia, but I don’t think that stamps his career into the HOF.
What’re y’alls thoughts?
I won't say yes or no, I'd say I wouldn't argue against it tho.
It amazes you people sign up to forums to use them as they're intended?
It was hardly a phonebooth fight, certainly not my idea of one.
You missed the whole analogy smh...
I think they will at least start their card earlier. Since fans aren't going to be able to attend, they don't feel like they will be impacted too much from the Spence/DSG PPV. And again, limited dates the rest of the year and too many fighters left to fight.
In terms of when fight's go on, I don't think attendance had anything to do with it. Example Canelo-Kovalev they waited until the UFC main event was over to start their fight. I doubt a significant portion of how ever many ppl were in that venue for the UFC event that night immediately left & purchased Dazn that night. But it did give those who were already in an area to watch the fight, whether at home or a bar time to switch over & buy the Dazn fight. I say that to say I don't think fans being there or not will make a difference.

I don't consider them nobodies & I don't consider them boring fighters, especially not Andrade.
I don't see how an actual boxing fan can say Andrade & Eubank Jr. is more meaningful because Eubank Jr. has some fans for being the son of a UK legend. Eubank Jr's name holds the same weight in the U.S. as Derek Chisora's. You would have a case if Jr. was the champ & Andrade was supposed to go to the UK to fight him.
But its a sad state of affairs when "boxing fans" feel like you fighting a guy who never held a belt, has lost multiple times, & has lost to the guy you should now be fighting more meaningful than fighting the guy himself. Reminds me of a tweet I seen saying Andrade after beating Sulecki should fight Rosado or should've fought Rosado. I can only hope more ppl don't agree with you.
How is Spence not a PPV star when he received twice as many PPV buys as Crawford?
I can have $4 you can have $8, it doesn't make you rich. See my point?
This is extremely biased.
Porter had great fights with top welterweights and Crawford has not fought a single credible opponent at welterweight. Crawford is looking for a credible opponent, Porter is credible. Crawford has no one to fight, why would he turn down a Porter fight? To fight who? His only option is Kell Brook.
He said maybe he is biased, but he actually knows Bud implying there's a difference. Ppl have been over this 1,000 times they mutually agreed they were friends which is why they wouldn't fight among other reasons. But now apparently Shawn wants to fight & he's about to be mandatory & Bud ain't dropping that belt so it will happen one way or the other.
Pretty sure Thurman rocked him hard. Even Danny admitted it in the podcast he had not too long ago.
What podcast? With Brian Custer? Cause if that's the one, I listened to the whole thing & I don't remember that.
I've heard him mention that punch a few times over the years & the most he says is "he caught me with a good shot." The punch looked like more than it was cause of the momentum Thurman swung with & iirc DSG was throwing a hook at the same time. He was never visibility hurt or on shaky legs.
It’s not meaningful. Just dull as all hell. Whoever wins is right where they are now.
How is a fight between two undefeated champions at the top of their weight class, who people say have yet to face an elite opponent not meaningful?

Saunders has no shame..
Boxing fans are some of the worst. They make every excuse why a fighter (in most cases they like) lost, except for the other guy is just a better fighter. I personally give Loma credit for beating Rigo. I picked Rigo to win, I admit I didn't do my full due diligence but I have to keep the same energy regardless. So credit Loma for proving what I thought at that time false. That was the 1st & maybe only time 2 boxing gold medal winners fought professionally.
Unless you're someone who was hellbent on it being a mismatch from the beginning & even then Loma should still be given credit. Yes Rigondeaux was a smaller fighter but he was also undefeated & unequivocally the most skilled fighter Lomachenko had fought at that time & maybe even still right now! Loma didn't beat him by brute force or utilizating his side advantage at any point in the fight. He literally out skilled him & made the guy who was begging for the fight running his translators fingers all on IG, quit! It's not just about "who you beat" (which is overrated in itself), or just winning, but how you beat them!
Now onto Teofimo. I believe Teofimo would beat everybody on Loma's resume & vice versa. So to me they're the best opponent each other is going to face at this current time. With that said I don't believe this is a 50-50 fight. I believe Teofimo has a punchers chance & if he doesn't stop him, he won't win.
Loma will get credit from me because this is a meaningful fight. It's a unification, neither fighter imo again has beat anyone that the other can't beat. Loma is in his 3rd weight class fighting a naturally bigger guy. If Loma hadn't fought Teofimo they would have complained & gave him even less credit for the guy he was rumored to fight had this fight not been made. So how is the same fight that ppl are saying is FOTY (not my opinion it's the opinion of "them" which is louder than mine because I'm the minority they're the majority) going to receive one way credit? That shìt don't even make any sense.
They have the same number of professional fights & as a professional fighter Teofimo doesn't know how to lose. We can't say the same about the guy who a group of ppl are prepared to not give credit too, should he win. Let's talk about why Lomachenko wouldn't be given credit?.... You can't say because has fought better opposition professionally without acknowledging he's at a disadvantage at the weight class he's fighting in. If the scales are tipped in 1 aspect the overall playing field levels itself out when you're objective & can assess the scenario accurately.
The crazy thing ppl wanna say Teofimo is green right, the same guy who's essentially been begging to fight Loma. So should 32 Y.O. Loma wait idk let's say 3 years until Teofimo is 26, which would not only make Loma 35 but Teofimo a 140lber, is that a "fair fight" then? SRL was ages 23-25 when he fought Benitez, Duran, & Hearns who were all except Duran was in their normal weight class! & the most ironic shìt is, in that span Duran was the only one who beat him!
What are they gonna say? Loma's amateur pedigree? Teofimo was a top amateur as well. If ppl are gonna say well he wasn't the amateur Loma was, well who is/was!? Going 400-1 in the amateurs isn't just about experience. Don't get me wrong it matters, especially at a point he was a grown man fighting teenagers but there's plenty of instances where you can name a fighter fighting better opposition who lost to a fighter who didn't. Loma performed how he did in part if not more because he was better, point blank period. With that said Loma will not only get credit from me for beating Teofimo but will receive the most credit out of any opponent he has fought professional to date!
So no thoughts about if this hurts your projection of Canelo winning or losing in court?
Looks like Golden Boy didn't put that in their contract with Canelo so they may end up being solely responsible.
He still signed the contract tho..
& I'm of the mindset it was done intentially. (GBP not putting it in the contract) But there's a possibility they didn't even know. Things worded a certain way can be very tricky in a court of law. Dazn has a separate contract from Canelo, not sure if it's the same ordeal with GBP.
