According to Kenny Porter; Shawn Porter is very interested in cashing in his lottery ticket for his WBO mandatory title defense against Terence Crawford next. The video is Timestamped at 26:54

yup. crawford should just move back down to 140 (where he might stand a chance) if he's not going to fight any top ten ranked welterweights. embarrassing.
This. Top rank has more talented 140 pounders or co promoted 140 pounders than welterweights. The idea that ramirez who has been in very close fights at 140 would move up to 147 and give crawford a good fight baffles me.
When the time comes he will fight Terence Crawford. However, if Crawford really wanted to fight Erroll Spence, Jr badly enough then he wouldn't have signed with Top Rank now wouldn't he?
Why on God's green earth would he resign with a promotional company, while knowing full well in advance that their roster is rather sparse when it comes to talent and that they don't have many good welterweights to choose from?
He knows that is the greatest impediment in making that fight a reality. Bob Arum needs Al Haymon. Al Haymon doesn't need Bob Arum.
This is spot on.

He fought Kava who was a top10 Welterweight and he destroyed him, Plus Horn was a world champion top 10 welterweight at the time.
Did you forget?
crawford super quiet now.You are right and for a very good reason because he is ducking. Not once has he ever mentioned that he would fight Shawn Porter even if he was his mandatory challenger.
Unifications always trump mandatories doe.
You're basically saying Spence will continue to avoid Crawford
with his marination excuse. I see.

If Bob Arum were pulling strings Porter wouldn't be ranked number one by the WBO in the first place. No need for conspiracy nonsense I've already explained were we are at. If YOU hear the WBO in the coming months announce anyone besides Porter as the mandatory for the WBO title its because PORTER turned down the opportunity to fight for the title next. I dont see how you can spin it any other way. Has nothing to do with Arum, Haymon. or even Crawford at this point its all on Porter.Well Bud Crawford is the man who Porter wants to fight now; Not Erroll Spence or Danny Garcia. So we shall see in the next few coming weeks what should come from all of this. He has a lottery ticket that he wants to cash in.
How about Porter - Kavaliauskas
That would be a war.I'll go one further. How about Porter vs Crawford? That will be a title fight for the WBO's welterweight championship of the world. Crawford needs to fight a ranked contender before he challenges Spence.
Except that they don't - unless the orgs approve it.
The WBO put four dangerous fighters in the Top 10 for Crawford's title. That's not a coincidence. They want him to fight a threat for a change.

Why would they do that?
Because they know that fighting threats is the way to earn a unification shot.
Same thing with Joshua and Pulev - where Crawford got two-pieced, wobbled and dropped by an unknown, he now has to face a threat; Joshua got multi-pieced, wobbled and dropped multiple times and then ran his way to a victory against Ruiz. He now has to face his mandatory threat to regain his honor before unifying.
Porter has to call in the ticket. Kenny said they will. If they do, Crawford has to respond - he can't duck it.
But if Porter doesn't call in the ticket directly and Crawford instead chooses one of the no-pictures...that's the same kind of duck.
So you guys would rather see Crawford vs Porter
rather than Crawford vs Spence. I see.
Nothing; I would love to see the two promotional companies work together to give us boxing fans the fights that we want to see.
Al Haymon is not the issue here. He has already given his blessing to Keith Thurman to pursue a fight with Terence Crawford which he turned down.
My only one concern is Top Rank pulling strings behind the scenes in order to sabotage this fight.

What does Al Haymon have to do with Porter turning down a mandatory title shot? We're you talking about Al Haymon when you started this thread telling us what Kenny Porter said and what him and his son want to do? You're already ready to make excuses. Bob Arum has **** all to do with Porter refusing to exercise his right as a mandatory challenger.Nothing; I would love to see the two promotional companies work together to give us boxing fans the fights that we want to see.

Ok Pal, I'll let you have it your way! However, just remember, if the fight doesn't happen you can thank either Bob Arum or Al Haymon for that. Remember that Bud and Top Rank has already turned down an offer from Keith Thurman to fight.

Excellent response! They want to hand Crawford the big fish without paying his dues. Spence fights everyone. Who have Crawford fought or defeated at welterweight to earn a shot a Spence? No one :beerchug:
Well the choice is his. All I know is that Shawn Porter is his mandatory challenger and if he doesn't defend it against Porter, then he will get stripped of his WBO welterweight title.
Unifications always trump mandatories doe.

I'm not against the Porter fight, though.
I think they feel like fck let's make sure this Spence fight happens b4 risking a war with Porter. They can run their mouth all they want but they don't seem as confident as they claimYeah exactly! Shawn is not an easy fight for anyone. He can fight. All of his losses were razor thin close and could have easily gone the other way.
We back to kenny Porter after what we’re told by Porter that it’s between him and Crawford? Nvm the fact he’s mentioned countless times he’s prioritizing Spence and Pacquiao? When can this fight happen? Porter just had a fight, after Garcia-Spence everyone and there mother’s know Porter is looking that way.
Kenny is only ever the one coming out with this. Same thing last year. When the mic turned to Porter it was “come to PBC”. Porter will fight Crawford if there’s no fight over at his side. Hell, he’d probably take Thurman before Crawford.
That's all there is left to say. If it don't happen then blame Porter he is the one that turned down the opportunity.Ok Pal, I'll let you have it your way! And I see some STILL deny it.

It's time for people around here to STOP denying obvious truths.
Kenny Porter just told you that, apparently, in contradict to what some said, Shawn wants Crawford regardless of friendship. That's a call out.
You kept saying Shawn wasn't calling Crawford out. You got your wish.
WBO has Shawn as #1. I covered this in my thread where I showed you from BOX LIVE that he was #1 - which for WBO is mandatory.
They DID announce it. It's done.
Now, it's up to Crawford to respond to this call out accordingly. And not like he did on DAZN either unless he wants to give that belt up and pull a Riddick Bowe.
Either Arum had a check that bounced or Haymon is paying more now to the WBO
I think Crawford is a better fighter than Porter, but I just think this is a bad bad matchup for Bud. It's one of those Zaheer Raheem vs Morales type of fights. It's just bad. He should avoid this if he wants to make money fighting Spence. Styles make fights and I think his relentless pressure would be too much for Crawford
