Why did he look so flat in that fight?
Is he overrated? Underrated Kava? Kava had a good gameplan? Crawford slowing down? Crawford used to fighting much lesser opponents?
I don't think Kava is that good I really don't. I actually think there is a very real chance he gets upset tonight by Zewski.
I don't think he beats even a shopworn Brook, he certainly isn't troubling Spence if hes near 100. Danny, Manny, Porter, Ugas, I don't see the top WWs struggling with him.
Kava went to the olympics and all that but he never won at the highest level. In fact he got stopped a whole heap of times by non-punchers in the amateurs. He was sort of a second tier guy (being kind) who got played with by anyone elite or close to.
If that fight ever happens I will take a bet on. Benavides is not a mover and will go into Garcia's style.
I mean, Herrera and Peterson had their best success not moving. But sure.
I think any potshotting is just bad for Garcia. 6’0 guy with solid technique, speed and power. If Crawford was having a hard time at catching and shooting Benavidez not sure a much slower and inactive Danny Garcia has much success there. But maybe he can on load to the body enough.
I’ve always thought Crawford wasn’t quite what he’s been cracked up to be.
For me Spence is the best fighter in the division and is the more talented boxer
I think this fight was tougher honestly. An underrated win. How does a Danny Garcia beat a one-legged Benavidez? Benavidez clear favourite in that for me.

It amazes you people sign up to forums to use them as they're intended?
It was hardly a phonebooth fight, certainly not my idea of one.
You missed the whole analogy smh...
I didn't think Crawford looked that great against the one legged Benavides either.

The fight was like DeMarcus vs Mayweather. He fought overly aggressive and got touched.
Really as simple as that. The only person I can think of that could get after his opponents and still not get touched is prime Roy Jones.
On the flipside:
Why did Crawford dominate someone like Postol?
Because Postol didn`t come to fight.
Kavaliauskas is tough 147 dude, he won`t just try to survive 12 rounds.
Kavaliauskas is decent. He has good technique, super snappy jab, very strong and we just had a Kavaliauskas more patient than Crawford that night, and Kava used that to his advantaged with some nicely timed counter’s. Guy is very explosive. Major weakness though. Terrible stamina. I predicted that he’d get tired vs Crawford considering what I saw vs Robinson, and it makes sense that any elite beats him down the stretch due to that weakness. But he’s still very good when he’s fresh. But he also doesn’t like to fight because it causes him to gas, so again. Major weakness.
What Crawford did was exactly the best way to beat Kavaliauskas. Which is what a lot of noobs don’t seem to get.
Yeah and that guy Kava is not a scrub either. He's a tough challenge for a lot of guys. Definitely no walkover
Bud is a legit welter. He's grown into the division.
Against Kava he just wanted to fight. All it was.
I think framewise Bud is/can be a legit 147 pounder. Can maybe even go above that and be a real 154 pound fighter.
But he's always going to have been more dominant at the lower weights. That's how it always goes.
Look at Floyd and Manny. Floyd has 2 legit KOs (Hatton and then Sharmba Mitchell if you want to count that) at 147 or above out of 14 fights. Below that he was at least a 50/50 bet to KO those types of fighters.
Manny has 2 KOs in 17 fights at WW or above. Below that we all know he was much better.
Crawford is a bigger guy than Manny definitely and probably even Floyd by one weight class.
Crawford has looked fairly average relatively speaking at 147 vs fairly average competition there. But he has still gotten KOs in all 4 fights.
Idk just makes sense to me. The guys are a little bit bigger and tougher at 147 and punch a little harder so it takes him a little longer to get them out of there and it is a little harder to dominate. Even if he is a legit 147 pounder now that would just mean he was bullying guys really at the smaller weights, which I think is probably somewhat accurate.
I still think he is the best at 147 right now especially with Spence being a complete wild card now
