If by "destroy" you mean "glide around the ring like a tranny on rollerblades, while throwing tons of ineffective flurries, like a wanna-be Pakistani version of Ray Leonard en route to a UD", then yes - He will "destroy" Peterson.
YES, :You_Rock_
Lets see if peterson stays hungry now hes won the titles, alot of fighters start to lose there hunger after that, i have no doubt in my mind he trained like a workhorse for this fight and i agree alot of the roach fighters are terribly one dimensional.
Likewise with Pacquiao, Roach, Arum!
Everyone wants to see this, I'm hoping the promoters aren't going to keep us waiting till its long overdue, like Tyson-Lewis.
I'm not going to join the whole PED, pride, arrogance argument, I just want to see the two top P4P boxers fight, is that too much to ask Mr Mayweather, Mr Arum?
"I don't like catch weights" says the trainer of catchweight king manny pacquiao, he doesn't like it when the tables turn and someone else might have an advantage aye, ask weight drained de la hoya.
I'm expecting Roach and Ariza to focus almost solely on foot speed for this fight, Pacquiao has alot more lateral movement and the ability to fight off the back foot and for a short guy he knows how to control distance, he's alot more complete as a fighter, as for Marquez he has to move into the aggressor role if he can goad Pacquiao into a brawl it may be a shocker.
Im sticking to my original prediction though.
Pacquiao W12 Marquez:
8 rounds to 4, 2 knockdowns for Pacquiao.
Anyone from top rank here?
Tell Bob Arum, he's a senile old jew who needs to care more about the fans than money.
Mayweather vs. Pacquaio now, Pacquaios lackluster performance makes it alot more interesting.
Should be a good fight, I would have to predict Maidana as the winner, he seemed to adjust well to Khans style of jab and move late on in their fight, Malignaggi doesn't come with the power or speed of khan either, if Maidana can land the power on Khan he should be able to catch Malignaggi, should be a great fight or a dancing session, hopefully Maidana will come 100% offence minded and provide us with a PPV worth buying.
He does still look slightly lean but the fight is still just over a week out, if he looks ripped at the weigh in, I'm predicting a war, if Marquez can retain his speed he could make it alot more competitive than people would first assume.
Final Thought: Can Welterweight Marquez 2.0 retain enough speed to whip off those hard counter punches against the bigger smarter Pacquiao 2.0 and how will Pacquiao respond to those punches?
Its open for debate but either way, Marquez will show up to fight and with that, you know there's going to be one, hopefully we will see some controversy of the good kind come November 12th.
Prediction at this moment: Pacquiao W12 Marquez
( 8 rounds to 4 with 2 knockdowns for Pacquiao )
- Hand/Foot speed being the deciding factor.
Roach is really trying hard to sell this fight, I dont think Pacquiao is that emotionally attached to this fight, its just another day on the job for him.
"I beat him, there's no need to beat him again any time soon. It doesn't serve me any purpose, it doesn't make me a better fighter."
"In a few years' time if there's something more prestigious on the line, or if we've both made improvements then we'll do it again. But at this time, there's no point."
me, me, me, how about for the fans?
thank the BBBoC for the terrible stoppage, you know what you're going to see when you get a fury fight, a ref on his side and a terrible fighter on the other.
Good split of opinions on this fight, they are both modestly overrated, I think Chavez Jr. has been tested (Zbik), Alvarez is barely tested by hyped up journeymen, good development fight for both, but development isn't profitable, a super fight is, I think the promoters will let them simmer first.
