Nice list mate ! all were terrific fighters
and heres a follow up question for anyone who can answer..
does lifting weights play a signifigant role in slowing down a fighter? what are its main disadvantages? because i started boxing recently, AND i go to the gym and lift weights regularly now, as i am trying to build alot of muscle mass...so am i defeating the purpose of trying to become a solid boxer or what?
.. I agree that weight training can be beneficial to a fighter under controlled conditions.. light weight training is the key,, endurance training , doing heavy weight training is counter productive to boxing.. What happens is your tendons in the arm shrink and as a result you don‘t get full extension on your punch, and that’s where the power is ! ! .. You look at the majority of big punchers and they are lean mean fighting machines.. De La Hoya , Trinidad, ext lets take Mike Tyson as an example.. When Mike was leaner (216 lbs) , he was far more effective and had better leverage and power . When he put on all that muscle in prison (230 lbs) his extension was jeopardized and thus it took some of the mustard off his shot ! Also his stamina was compromised . Lennox Lewis was far more effective as a fighter when he was a lean 227 lbs. , ( the Ruddock fight ) after that fight Lennox put on all that muscle, and he slowed down considerably and was easily fatigued he lost his speed . Lennox still had a good career however he would have been much better , faster, and a more impressive fighter had he had stayed leaner . I would recommend using you own body weight as resistance in training whenever you can. Plyometrics baby ! that’s where its at !
He stands southpaw and tried to jab with his powerhand, he punches like he's shooing flies, and he's one of the slowest fighters I've ever seen! This guy is absolutely horrible!!
I think you summed it up pretty well. How the hell did he beat anyone is my question? you know that old saying " the punch you don't see is the one that knocks you out" sure as hell don't apply to his opponents , LOL. you can set a clock to his punches they so slow !
They could milk this thing for another couple of fights ! Yeah a draw is very likely . I hope the outcome is more concrete.. I really hate draws, Draws are way to common . A judge need to watch the round and pick a winner, very rarely is there an even round, if you truly paying attention to the match !
He was big on dog fighting rasing dogs to fight to the death ! I don't like that shit. horrible what people fu^@ing do to animals !
As a fighter he was an awesome force to be reckoned with .
As a person he was shit !
I think Sam Peter is improving.. He was very raw early on , but now things are coming together for him, Sam is starting to put his punches together . I see great things for Peter down the road. His power is terrific and once his delivery method improves he will be hard to stop..
I think Vitali would have his hand full fighting Peter and with the layoff I'd favor Peter to win by Dec , and I think this slightly improved version of Sam would KO Wladimer .
