He stands southpaw and tried to jab with his powerhand, he punches like he's shooing flies, and he's one of the slowest fighters I've ever seen! This guy is absolutely horrible!!
I caught the replay of his last fight the other night.I can only echo what others have said.
He looked so bad...Value is going to fight him.Thank goodness the fight will not be televised in the states.
Tye feilds did throw 800 plus punches...Thats impressive for a 6'9 Giant.....I didnt think it was even possible but he did. He isnt the best but he certainly impressed me with his stamina
absolutely nothing wrong with jabbing with your powerhand.
You're interpreting it differently than it was implied. I mean the he is standing southpaw, with his left hand back, and repeatedly throwing the left 2 or 3 times as a straight shot to set up his right hand. Maybe I should have phrased it better.

that was travis walker, who despite his crude style, is apparently quite superior to fields
i believe you are correct. kepp in mind that vitali's knee went out and it was not a knockdown in any traditional sense.
Is this the same guy that supposedly knocked Vitali Klitschko down in sparring when Klitschko was preparing for Rahman?

Last night was the first time I saw this guy fight and boy does this guy stink! The only good thing I can say about the guy is that he's got good size for a hw, seems to have some power, and throws more punches than the average hw boxer.
However, his weaknesses clearly outweight any size and punch output advantages he has. Fields has a sloppy boxing style with no regard for defensive that, he's a KO just waiting to happen. His punches are slow and wide reaching, and as a result his hands are usually dangerously low and his face is wide open for the counter-attack.
In other words, don't be deceived by this guy's record of 38-1, 34KOs because, aside from a notable win against former WBA champ Bruce Seldon, he has no boxing fundamentals and will be KO'd the first time he fights someone who has good boxing skills and knows how to counter punch.
watch his fight with julious long(sp?)..... its unintentionally hilarious
For real, Long was down for the ten count and the ref let the fight continue. Just a totally horrible, talentless fight.

Where the heckmanship have you been ?
You've been hiding havent you ?

I think you summed it up pretty well. How the hell did he beat anyone is my question? you know that old saying " the punch you don't see is the one that knocks you out" sure as hell don't apply to his opponents , LOL. you can set a clock to his punches they so slow !
Fuck and at the end of the bout Arum was saying how he was going to fight Valuev this year WTF?
Tye Fields doesn't deserve a title shot he sucks to much. Just another example of promoters feeding bums to the HW champs.

another fighter ruined by steroids
i literally tuned in seconds before the main event started.
But they said there was over 800 punches thrown
Was it at least a good fight?
and then i turned it off once i was bored to tears by the flyweights. I cannot watch those small guys.
They are so boring most of the time.
Only the top 3 guys are worth watching
About 100+ of those were thrown in the first round. Most of the punches were thrown by Fields. They were all winging, clubbing blows which were partially blocked most of the time. He also just plain missed a lot of his shots, whooshing the air as his opponent moved around the ring. His jab is kind of nonexistant, as I saw him throwing his straight left as a jab a lot of the time.
But his workrate at least made it interesting.

Pretty entertaining, actually. But his skill level has to be some of the worse I've seen in a heavyweight EVER. And the fact that he was "stepping up" in competition to a guy who's 14-8 shows how sheltered he is. The heavyweight division is really rediculous if a guy like this can get a title shot.
