DLH has the same skill if not more than PBF, he's just not as fast. Oscar is going to put a lot of pressure on Mayweather, and he's good at cutting off the ring. DLH has been in a lot of big fights. IMO the pressure is all on Floyd. I expect a good fight for as long as it lasts. When DLH catches him it's over.
Everyone who was successful at cutting the ring off against him(I say only JLC and Chavez) both lost. I don't think Oscar is gonna be fast enough to do it unless Floyd really can't move well at 154. Also I don't expect this fight ending with any kind of KO.
Maybe HAD the same skills. DLH is no slouch, he is a 5 time champion. He is an "A" fighter.
no doubt that oscar is an A fighter, he is a 6 times champ if you count sturm. he always gives us great fights, but his skills are not in mayweather's league.
please... whitaker, toney, hopkins have skills in the same league as mayweather's not De La Hoya

delahoya is a good solid fighter but he has no skill no where near mayweather... the only chance delahoya has is if mayweather hurts his hand ... if not ??? then your going to see a lot of running and hitting from mayweather... mayweather is simply just too fast for delahoya...
hes going to pick at him all the night and run and do the shoulder lean lol when hes in the corner ...
floyd by decision...

Maybe Mayweather loses, just to get a rematch with Oscar and get back to back career high paydays outboxing DLH in the rematch by comfortable decision.
Big surprise that something like this would come from someone that has PBF in there screen name. Like you would ever be objective about any topic on floyd with a screen name like this. You people ar gonna be real dissapointed when you find out that Floysd is not just gonna walk through Oscar and for the first time in his career he will have a real fight on his hands. Floyd is not gonna dominate Oscar at 154. Open your eyes and try to be a liitle more objective nut hugger. For you to think that Floyd is just gonna dominate Oscar is ignorant.yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever with the username fiasco bullshit. oh yeah, and i just read my post again, and i left many words out of it. i must make some changes. anyway, my username has nothing to do with my argument for floyd. i'm tired of hearing about this. many people on here are choosing oscar to knock the pretty boy out. why not respond to them. i'll answer that for. maybe because you're biasness towards oscar and hatred for floyd comes in to play. i think i'm right. i gave oscar plenty of credit, and i always do, but i stand by everything i believe, and floyd is going to embarass oscar. i've said this for years now. floyd is a smarter overall fighter, and his defense will be too much for oscar. oscar fights with a lot of pride, and when floyd offsets his offense with floyd's defense, oscar will get frustrated and that's when the embarrassment begins. you'll see come may 5, trust me. you know, it's funny, many guys on here are predicting a kncokout from oscar(mainly because they can't stand floyd and try to put many holes into his fightgame, like he won't hurt oscar because he doesn't have power, and oscar boxes better which is stupid because we all know if oscar tries to outbox floyd he is done early, and other dumb shit like floyd pot shots and that's it), and forget the fact that floyd is the smarter fighter, and you read of their posts and respond to one of the few guys on here who has the balls not to be objective(which i'm not being, no matter what my username reads), and state the truth, which you all know but are too blindsided by your hatred for floyd. oscar has nothing for floyd including his left hook which will land some imo but will not hurt floyd, why, because floyd has a great chin. it's not about landing one power punch on floyd, which many of you seem to believe, it's about landing combos and then getting your opponent out of there. floyd will beat oscar with his combos, and he will combo, and his left hook, which will be a lot harder than usual. it wouldn't surprise me if oscar shys away from his usual fighting style and the same with floyd. the pnly way i see oscar defeating floyd is if floyd gets bored and just quits.
If DLH can land the left hook he used to throw... My bad, he put Mayorga down...
If anybody thinks that DLH has no chance against PBF, then they are fools...
BUT, I think realisticaly, PBF is going to straight right, move, straight right, sneaky left hook DLH to death. (With a whole lot of of clinching). It might be boring. But it will be effective. Barring PBF's whole family tree jumping in, PBF by a contro decision.
They could milk this thing for another couple of fights ! Yeah a draw is very likely . I hope the outcome is more concrete.. I really hate draws, Draws are way to common . A judge need to watch the round and pick a winner, very rarely is there an even round, if you truly paying attention to the match !
Hmm, I have a lot of feelings but atleast I explain them.
Ahaha.
I agree with that.
For me I think it's either an Oscar KO or a Floyd dec.
For obvious reasons..
here's how i see and how i have been seeing it for a long time now. floyd will stun oscar early, mark my words. forget about who will have the better stamina because they both will train hard for the fight, and floyd spars 15 rounds in training camp, and oscar runs like a madman in his camp, it will come down to strategy.
floyd is going to whoop oscar's ass. oscar's left hook is always dangerous but i believe he will look for it too early and floyd will counter him perfectly. what poeple seem to forget is that floyd has a left hook as well. it may be not be as hard as oscar's but trust me, he will land it more than oscar will. i guarantee it. floyd will dominate oscar. you guys can believe what you want about floyd running all night, but i promise everybody on this forum that floyd will embarras the living hell out of oscar. they both have great boxing technoque but floyd is faster, and that is where it counts the most. oscar is bigger, but floyd is faster and has much better defense. now that osacr isn't using floyd sr., he is really screwed. he should have swallowed his pride and paid him the 2 million dollars, because he is really in some trouble now, because floyd is a much smarter fighter than oscar and we all will see this may 5, watch and see. oscar is done. floyd by a clear cut unanimous decision and oscar's face will look horrible, trust me. will not hurt floyd, not by a longshot. and you guy wonder why floyd goes into his fights so confident, because his gameplan is always on point, and he adjusts better than anybody in the sport. oscar is done, floyd wins this fight. deal with it if you don't believe me. i can't to watch this fight.

I have a feeling this fight will be a draw with some people feeling that de la hoya won. Your opinions
I may be one of the few that thinks this fight will be boring.
well, his fight with mayorga was not traditional oscar.
true to some extent, (did not look exactly like james toney in good shape, relaxing under Jirov's fire)! but we are talking about dodgin lil floyd crisp, fast punches here, no mayorga trying to get lucky.
moving too much on his feet, instead of his upper body has been a traditional weakness of oscarand a reason for his getting tired in the late rounds.

responding to the title here, a draw would not surprise me at all.
as for the blueprint on beating pbf, well i have a few formulas. each one deals with what mayweather is performing - and when since he is fairly good at changing his gameplan to suite his opponent.
generally, if you can pressure floyd into a corner, you will likely have some success. getting him there is another obstacle.
uppercuts should be a key. floyd likes to dip down by bending at the waist and a bit with the knees. a lot of floyd's opponents have tried to swing wide on him when he does that, but hitting him as he's dipping down from a horizontal angle is definitely not the best choice as the window for that punch is minimal. uppercuts will work well in that situation and followed by some bodywork. the other way around should work as well.
sounds very reasonable
i think oscar's gonna be obviously slower, but hes gonna be wiser than floyd. oscar will use sharp quick head movements to avoid floyds serious punches, use technique and counters to beat floyd. think ali in the mid to late 70s, slow but durable, calm, and smart.

Not necessarily, 1 thing that would be smart is not let PBF get him into a cat and mouse and dictate a pace way too fast for Oscar. Oscar isn't used to fighting guys who can effectively box backwards, most of his recent fights have been against grade A opponents willing to meet him pretty much in the middle of the ring and exchange or at least willing to exchange a majority of the rounds, Mayweather takes the steam out of most guys by making them think they got a chance at chasin him down, wearin him down.
Look at Corrales, he followed Floyd around and ate punches until he was so exhausted PBF owned his ass! Oscar must upon occasion stop followin, much like Sam Peter consciously did against Toney, and force Mayweather to come forward and meet him.
it is not a bad idea, but it would take some physical effort, too
ok say oscar stops chasing floyd for a second,
what happens then?
floyd snaps in a jab and gets out of range.
what will oscar do when this happens?
1. time floyd to counter him with a right, which is doubt is going to work since shoulder roll works a beauty with rights
2. jab over floyd's jab or jab as floyd moves in. given floyd's speed, oscar's jab better be double----> tiring.
what peter did, working behind the jab was a good idea, but toney is now what? 37 (and he looked 37 in peter 2). floyd's stamina is among the very best in the game.
btw do you think that was buddy's idea for gatti? of course gatti was not the ideal fighter to take out the plan
