Groves need to stay the hell away. Even if he becomes a champ this year.
Agreed. I kinda feel sorry for a few of the smw. They might have had a shot if a bit younger but degale groves primes will be while ward is probably still in his
Not sure if it came from ggg or his management but I recall them saying he was will to to fight anyone between 154 - 168. He's either extremely confident in his abilities or just talking big to get high profile fight.
Not sure it would be good to see how hard ggg actually hits. No better way than try out on a proven chin like froch. Would also get to see how he takes a shot cos froch will land. If fight was now I'd go with froch based on experience. GGG hasn't fought at this level yet. Has all the hallmarks for a classic though
Froch would break him in half.
A small flat-footed middleweight with sh1t defense and no jab vs Froch? Seriously? Don't give a fcuk how hard the fcuker hits or what he is being hyped up to be. The Cobra would break every bone in that goons body.
Fair call. I would love to say same but I think it's a bit early to condemn ggg as a hype job. I'll make judgment in 2-3 more fights.
Nope.
Marquez is one of those guys; you can hit him, you can hurt him and you can drop him, but he won't let you stop him.
I thought so was 100% sure. Thanks alot guys
bradley woulda gotten knocked out. his broken foot made him fight backwards.
Lol was thinking same thing. If he wasn't in soo much pain he might have engaged abit more maybe
I'm going with brook by SD I'm not sold on either of these guys but think brook nicks this one with the more telling shots. Alexander will maul to try and nullify Brooks power hopefully brook can fight a good inside game.
Bailey did land some big shots in that fight that didn't seem to faze Devon at all, but it's not just that fight he can take a punch. Hell, besides that flash knock down from Lucas he's never really been hurt or dropped in the ring.
What people seem to forget about Devon is he is still young. Hell, he's younger than Brook. I think he has and still can improve a lot in his career. And as for the Bradley fight, yeah it was bad, I will be the first to admit that. But he has been in some fights since then and was even in a tough one that could have broken a lot of guys without heart (his fight with Lucas). I honestly think he has learned from the Bradley incident and will continue to do so. He has shown any mental weakness before or since so it's not out of the question to give the guy the benefit of the doubt.
Fair point. Like I said haven't seen much. All I really want is to see a good fight. I don't think it will be though due to Alexander. I know it's a great skill to nullify your opponent. It's like Hopkins I appreciate the quality brings to the ring but can't say I love watching his fights.
Ill watch if it's made. Both have something to prove and what happens to loser of this one? Does Bute blow the froch rematch or will pavlik have to continue career fight b\c class opposition. Proper crossroads fight with harsh consequences for loser.
It's about time all this ped ****e is done n dusted. I vote that what donaire is doing should be the norm for every active pro fighter not the exeption. Then there's no bs
Devon has the faster hands, the better foot work, a better chin, and much more experience. He also has very underrated power. I don't see anything that Brook does better. Devon should win this fight easy. I know Brook has some good ko's, but so does Devon. Hell, he has some even better ones so don't sell me that BS.
Can everyone picking Brook tell me why? In Kell's toughest fight so far he went life and death with Carson Jones. CARSON JONES! Devon has beat guys levels above him.
Sure, Brook is an undefeated guy, but what has he shown that shows he can compete with a guy on Devon's level? I know he gets a lot of crap on here, but he took some bombs from Bailey that didn't even faze him and he took Maidana to the cleaners. Give the man some credit.
Like I said earlier I'm not sold on either of them being great. The jones fight I believe was a wake up call to brook. If he's living the boxers lifestyle and is working on his conditioning he has alot of room for improvement. I admit I haven't bothered to watch Alexander after the Bradley fight. I just believe that that is alexanders mentality. I don't think he can get much better than he is and sooner or later he's going ***** out again when things get really hard. Plus baily hardly through a punch let alone a combo so I don't think that fight is a good guide to his chin.
I would have liked him to establish himself better as a heavy. He wants vitali or nothing but if he stayed active and grew into the weight he can be a long reigning champ. 32 /33 is young for a heavy these days. other than the k bros who do you think will beat him?
Its not an exact formula. It depends on style . Some of the am win by slapping and dancing round like a fairy. Look for the guy that's sets his feet and places his shots but still loses cos he gets slapped 3 times landing a good stiff jab or hook. The other guy doesn't want to get hit so moves around alot throwing lots of punches but with little effect on the opponent. This guy wins in the ams but the other guy will be best suited to the pros. Of course there are the exeptions that have both great am career and pro but reality is they are few and far between.
If the fight does happen mayweather loses. Alvarez will pressure and keep him backing up. I don't think he stays on the ropes like he did with cotto and he doesn't seem to have the legs to box on the move for 12 rounds. I know alvarez is unproven but if takes floyds best and is unfazed it will be a long night for Floyd. ps to all Floyd fan boys I'm not hating its just an observation mainly from the cotto fight.
Whatever the injury was to the foot, it didn't hinder him from rounds 10-12, where he did his best work. And the idea that Bradley ran is laughable. They traded plenty of times, Pacquiao just never came close to putting him away.
I don't think he ran at all but he should have at least gone a bit harder at times if he did maybe it would have just been a close fight and not a robbery
Come on people we moan about these promoters crap let's try and be heard what's the worst that can happen. We just need as many people as posable. The more of us unite the more likely we might get change.
We can make them notice it's just a matter of being persistent and word of mouth. Getting the petition into the general public will help. Years ago this was the best way to make a stand. Now we just fold straight away without really trying
“Boxing isn’t like other sports,” Steward said several months before his death. “In boxing, a human being is getting hit in the head. None of us like to talk about it, but there’s a very real risk of brain damage. So to my way of thinking, anyone in boxing who’s part of using performance-enhancing drugs – I don’t care if it’s the fighter, the trainer, the strength coach, the conditioner, the manager, the promoter – that person is ruining the sport and doing something criminal.”
Spot on by a legend of the sport RIP
Theres no shame in losing a close fight to Kessler in his back yard
And although it wasn't close there's no shame in the way froch lost to ward
Froch stock will rise with Andre Ward. If ward progresses the way he is by the time he retires froch could be his most difficult fight as I just can't see anyone coming close to him for years to come that's just how good I think he could be.
Sure I read last week that he had signed up with hatton promotions asia pacific or something. I think this article is very old.I live in Aus and if he has signed with hatton I'd be wanting to get go the uk or America ASAP. Boxing is so far down the list of sports here the everyday Aussie dont know who Daniel geale is of Billy dib. It's a sad state of boxing here
I think we the the fans should unite and get legal advice against TR and gbp for lose of entertainment that's us as paying customers deserve. Wasted time in our lives from reading the back and forth bickering that's just doesn't seem to end. I'm not blaming one or the other theyre both to blame. But they must see that they are destroying a sport that they claim they love. I'm sick to death of it. We should boycott all future TR and gbp events to make them realize without us there is no 3 mill or any money on offer if there is no fans. We hold the power over this if we all pull the same way. All over the world race nationality male female. Let's start an online movement so these so called promoters stop ignoring the reason they have they're cushy lifestyle. It because us fans that save up to see live or on ppv the sport we love the most and because we pay we should get the fights we want. Who's with me??????
lmao.......no way to recover from that type of embarrassment.
Both of them should retire let the dust settle the in a few years people will finally stop *****ing and realize that they got to witness two hof fighters at there peak.I'm not old enough for the hearns hagler etc era. kind wish I was bit older when I hear others talk bout the fight from memory oh well thank god for you tube. But this is my era I saw live and some kid one day will wishing the same thing.sorry for the rabble !!!
