except ggg has been chasing big fights since he's entered the world stage...
GGG hasn't had a big fight to this day. He gets way too much hype given his quality of opposition.
If 3G can make 154, I'm not so sure going to 168 to face Froch would be the best idea. I am aware of the mythical tales of 3g beating HW's to a pulp but I'd favor Froch to win by KO.
lol @ "golovkins better then abraham"
based on what? the BUTE like hype that he's getting on boxingscene.com?
because it can't be resumes or realty.
i would love to see abraham vs golovkin. i think golovkin struggles big time.
except ggg has been chasing big fights since he's entered the world stage while abraham was facing scrubs in germany in a similar way sturm was doing at that time
pirog wouldve also been a better name on his resume than stieglitz was for abraham and its not his fault pirog got injured either
I'm not sure what difference this makes to the hype they have/had for doing very little.
At the time Abraham had the huge hype (Similar to how Golovkin does now), Abraham had beaten much better fighters than Golovkin has now.
Whether or not Golovkin is willing or aiming to fight better fighters is irrelevant at this point. In regards to the hype they have/had.
actually, i guarantee froch would try and box. i guarantee it.
why would you set out to "break his bones," when that's the only type of fight that golovkin can win.
froch has long ass arms. he would box for 12 rounds and win a decision, but it wouldn't be as easy as the abraham fight. golovkin is a lot quicker (he's still not fast, but abraham doesn't even try to move quickly,) has a better work rate, and he's much less wild.
actually froch would break his bones.........if froch came foward on golovkin he would r@pe him. if he boxed golovkin he would r@pe him.
froch wins which ever way he wants. we don't even know if golovkins got a good chin? can he take the power that froch is gonna land on him?
GGG'S head would go flying if he ever fought froch. he's overrated & haven't proved nadda against top comp.
And he hasn't even proved that yet. Which is the problem with his fans. They say a whole lot of things about him that just are not proven yet.
Abraham has beaten Miranda twice, both versions of this Miranda are better than any one on Golovkin's resume. The damaged-goods Taylor that Abraham fought is better than anyone on Golovkin's resume. Abraham has actually beaten a champion, a weak champion in Steiglitz, but still a champion.
Absolutely AA is way more accomplished, and was pretty feared at middle. But everybody was aware of his limitations, just couldn't get away from his power late. GG has some of the same limitations, but not all. AA is a crude boxer with no amateur career, doing the Wegnar by the numbers schtick. GG was an elite amateur, where his power should have been less of a factor
It's crazy how Abraham is perceived now in comparison to 2009-2010.
The hype Golovkin has now is very reminiscent of the hype Abraham had.

The last 5' 10" MW that was very good at 160 and went up to 168, was Arthur Abraham and we all know how his career turned out over there.
Ward, Froch, Dirrell, Kessler all beat him handily.
He should stay at MW.
when did kessler beat abraham?
GGG is a warrior but I really don't like the idea of him fighting at 168. He's too small and what makes him such a threat will be neutralized by being so small. He's about the same height as Abraham and we saw how small he appeared against the Super Six guys. GGG is better than Arthur, just sayin.

I personally would rather see GGG fight David Lemieux. Keep it in the weight class. We all know David would lose within 4 or 5 rounds, but man, those first 2-3 rounds with that kind of punching power getting exchanged would be something to behold.
actually, i guarantee froch would try and box. i guarantee it.

very good assessment, agreed on all points except maybe froch winning it. tbh i don't know who would win as it would be interesting to see if ggg carries his power to 168
also, abraham isnt a combination puncher and fights in spurts. ggg keeps the pressure on the entire fight and always punches in combinations. i would pick ggg to KO abraham right now and if that fight ever came off i would put real money on my prediction. ggg's accuracy and timing is incredible and thats the blueprint to beat abraham
Don't let euro level athletes being disguised by living in North America fool you. Remember what happen to Bute?
Froch is a euro himself and fully aware of their disguise. It takes an American to Bang! Poland
its funny people make ggg out to be overhyped yet they overhype froch in this thread
yes, froch is a seasoned pro and a very good fighter but he also doesnt do as well against accurate punchers (kessler, ward)
ggg is a very patient, accurate puncher, his patience in the ring probably sets him apart but also makes him look beatable which is very misleading if u look beyond his last two fights
and for the people saying he hasnt fought a top mw: he signed to fight pirog and took a fight against a top 10 mw in proksa on short notice. he's also chased sturm for almost 2 years and geale opted to fight mundine (who is completely irrelevant at mw) instead of facing ggg which wouldve probably landed him a fight on hbo. quillin has also openly stated he has no interest in facing ggg yet he fought n'dam who nobody knew, and is now slated to face guerrero who to me looked like crap against much lesser opponents
ggg is now fighting in the US for arguably lesser paydays to build his name. not saying he would beat froch but i can't see froch dominating him in any way or form
Froch would break him in half.
A small flat-footed middleweight with sh1t defense and no jab vs Froch? Seriously? Don't give a fcuk how hard the fcuker hits or what he is being hyped up to be. The Cobra would break every bone in that goons body.

Always the voice of reason.
GGG is slowly becoming the most overhyped fighter on boxing forums and such. Smashing down a hypejob like Proksa isn't enough to sell me that he would be remotely competitive jumping up a weight class to face a world class fighter who has faced competition leagues above what GGG has, also has a granite beard and solid power. Golovkin would get his lunch money stolen.
