That's true, but Cotto has showed a new spark the last few fights. He'll be plenty live for this fight and would be against Bradley as well. No matter what happens, I don't see Bradley as a sure thing against these guys. They're both solid. Plus he'll be fighting at his highest weight to make it happen.
I agree Cotto has been great with Roach. This Cotto Canelo fight is very interesting. I really think Tim is severely underrated, and like Cotto, the trainer switch is going to be great for him...its already been great for him.
I completely understand your stance and I do think both fighters are great matches for Tim. But I think Tim is a good bit better than both, mainly because of quickness and toughness. And with Teddy, he is boxing much smarter, and with much more direction and purpose.
Tim will beat either of those guys. Mark my words.
I think you're definitely jumping the gun on that one. Bradley did great against Rios, but it is Rios. he's not in Canelo or Cotto's league in my opinion. Against mid-level guys, he does great but when he stepped up against Pac, he looked bad.
Bradley would give them great fights but I'm not sure he beats either one of them. I'd like to see it, though.
Pac murdered Cotto doe.?
Haye was much much worse. Manny was in there with the most skilled fighter of all time. I saw Manny do a few things in there I have never seen anyone do with Floyd. And Floyd did much more to Manny that I haven't seen. I enjoyed the fight and have much respect for both fighters. I think Floyd was 100% keeping it real, when he said, he sees why Manny is where he is and why he's been able to beat people the way he has. It would seriously take a guy with Prime Roy Jones ability to beat Floyd. Someone who could actually out-speed, and out time May.
MR. LARRY XXX P0rn addict
floyd still held and ran from a smaller handicapped limited fight doe.
Floyd is a professional who has attempted to master every phase of the game. Do you think Jordan ever pushed with his off arm? The best are the best for a reason...they know the tricks of the trade. Pac is a checkers player. He needs to learn how to play chess. But its to late.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Neither Pac or his fans can loose with dignity. (I'm sure some of them did, but not the ones making threads)
He reminds me of Broner. Being hyped up when he's only beaten trashcans. He's the new can man. Cause anybody can get it. Trashcan, soda can, bear can, tomato soup can. Just kidding! But lets not start crowning this guy the king just yet. He literally hasn't fought anybody even worth mentioning yet. At least let him fight somebody like Stivern. Then we'll see.
He is much better than Broner. Broner is tough, but he's not scary. If you just look at the way his punches connect and the power involved...he's got top 1% power...Tito power for his weight class, and he has much more solid base than Tito and is faster on his feet so his attack is harder to run from. But that kind of power stops everyone eventually if applied at a high enough level. AJ's level surpasses GGG's so yeah more than enough.
AJ is going to destroy Klitschko. He will put him down within 8 rounds.
The reason you can't see anyone beating him is because you've never seen him fight anyone good. You can't evaluate a fighter in that way without seeing how he handles those top guys you think he'll beat. Anyone can look spectacular against low-level opposition. Joshua seems to have a good foundation and may develop into something great but until he fights at least ONE solid fighter (not an unknown/unproven who got a title via fluke injury) you're just creating obnoxious hype. I'm not ragging on him, just pointing out that he needs a chance to show what he has against top HW.
As far as Tito, the are nothing alike. Tito moved a lot and covered ground quickly, was rangey, cut angles, etc. Joshua doesn't exhibit a lot of movement. He's happy to fight at range, using sound technique with creative implements and superior power to overcome opponents. Feet are always under him. He's much more like Canelo than Tito.
I would respectfully disagree with your take. The power and committal to his punch is much more Trinidad like. Canelo has no where near the p4p power that Trinidad and AJ have. And it shows in there aggression as Trinidad and AJ seem to have a similar level of aggression. One that is higher than Canelo's. As far as mechanics and style go, I think he is a tad closer to Trinidad. I think his posture in the ring looks very similar to Trinidad. They look alike and they both swing for the fences similarly.
And to say you can't tell what people have if the fight terrible competition is not true. You can tell a lot by watching two guys attack a heavy bag. Let alone a person. The snap on his punches is otherworldly whether he is fighting a tin can or a heavyweight champ. Haven't seen snap like that from a heavyweight in a long time.
I'd root for him against Amir Kahn all day. Now that he has been exposed and people know he isn't the second coming I don't mind him at all. I very much want him to stay relevant because I think he gives the funniest interviews since the Rock.
Margarito had a chin and was tough, but tito destroys him. Tito was a mud better boxer, and Margarito was one of the easiest to hit boxers. NO chin could stand up to Tito punishment. Margarito would of been ruined in a fight with Tito and his career would of been over after that because his chin would of been destroyed after that fight. I wish this fight would of happened because this is one of those match ups where Trinidad would of looked spectacular. It would be one of those five knockdown fights that go about 8-9 rounds. It would of looked very similar to Trinidad vs Myorga. You cannot expect to fight like Marg and beat Trinidad. He punched way to hard. Pound for pound quite possibly the best puncher ever.
Now Trinidad vs GGG would of been absolute gold. Id still give it to Tito in what could of been the greatest fight of all time.
To be fair to Manny, he never was a great welterweight and this thread is putting him in with one of the hardest biggest welterweights in division history. His fantasy fights should be 140 and lower to be fair.
Manny would have success early on because of his speed, movement, and activity by the mid rounds, Tito will be picking up steam closing the distance.
Manny Admitted Margaritos Body shots hurt him and Trinidad is faster, more accurate, hits harder and was a better bodypuncher......Tito by tko rounds7-9
This!
Trinidad hits harder than Margarito? Yeah that's gold.
You just exposed yourself as someone who has no idea what he is talking about. You didn't watch Trinidad fight if you think Marg hits harder. Educate yourself immediately.
Manny turns him all night and wins on points
Think about Manny vs Margarito. Manny is quick but he isn't crafty. Trinidad is better than Marg in every way, and the amount of punishment he took from Marg...lets just say he could not take that many hard flush punches from Tito. Tito wins, because Tito is a better boxer than Manny. David Reid is craftier than Pac and he couldn't avoid the woo pin. I know why you think that but Pac doesn't run enough. He's right there to get hit. Tito beats and bloodies and KO's manny. Again, think Pac vs Marg.
wtf??? who cares?
You do know that on Facebook they are giving away free tickets to the fight on top ranks Facebook page for people who vote?
And on Rios's own twitter account too.
:lol1:
My thoughts exactly
http://www.toprank.com is asking this very question on there homepage. Those who vote get a chance at winning tickets. I wouldn't mind winning some free tickets to this fight.
even now if Tito were to come back he'd dominate and KO Froch in 7 or 8 rounds. The fight would be similar to the Tito/Mayorga fight.
Exactly, stylistically, a guy like Froch could never beat Tito. Would look just like Myorga fight. tito would easily slip those punches and counter all night long. You haters have no idea what your talking about when it comes to tito. Hes only lost to fast, defensive ATG. Hes never lost to a bum, and Froch is a bum.
I don't think so, maybe I didn't explain it properly...
If you take the Tito that fought Joppy, and put him up against the 2008 version of Roy Jones, then I think it ends in a KO win for Tito. Even though Jones would be bigger, Tito would keep coming for 12 rounds, and Roy would slow down and end up getting caught when he laid on the ropes.
Just by looking at his punches in the fight with Jones, you can see that they lacked pop. It was as if he was unable to get himself out of second gear.
Considering Roy was the biggest man Tito ever fought. Emannual stewart and Max Kellerman commented on how hard and crisp Titos punches were. The difference is Joppy and Roy. One guy is guarding his head (Roy) and the other guy is getting hit flush cause his hands are down or hes trying to swing at the same time Tito is (Joppy). Your comments are so far off. Couldn't you see that Roy was blocking Titos punches. Couldn't you see Joppy didnt block any, because he was to busy trying to KO tito. Roy fought smart, Joppy fought with no respect fo Tito's power. Same thing that Froch would do, and thats why hed get KO'd. To beat Tito, you must thing defence first. If you think offence first, you will loose. Tito could never of beat Jones. Jones is too quick too big, and too smart. He knows exactly what to do for Tito and his skills allow him to execute that strategy. Froch doesn't have the skills to defend against Tito. He can only go head up with Tito and bang. And he would get KO'd taking flush shots from Tito.
Jesus Christ! What the **** are some of you smoking? I can't believe that any boxing fan (by that I mean someone who takes a genuine interest in the sport as opposed to flicking over for PPV once a year) seriously thinks that Trinidad - prime or no prime - could not just take on a BIG SMW like Froch (who has heavy hands and a brick for a chin) but beat him. KO him!
Let's get this straight - any promoter that put those two together would be jailed.
Sure - Trinidad will have the edge in speed and agility, but Froch would catch him sooner of later. I can't imagine how many pieces Trinidad would be in if he ate one of those uppercuts.
Pavlick hits harder than Froch and hes a middleweight. Froch only beat and caught Jermaine because Jermaine was tired. Froch is garbage. Jermaine and Pavlick are better and should beat him. Froch is nothing. Nothing at all. He doesn't have bricks for fists or chin. Hes garbage. He got so lucky as he was getting dominated until about round 10. Wake up, this guy is a lucky Joke and Tito would erase his name from existance.
Enzo Calzaghe said exactly what I thought. This guy is amtuerish. The only reason he beat Jermaine was because Jermaine got tired. Tito would easily duck those slow side telegraphed shots that froch throws. Jermaine got to tired to move out of the way. Tito's inside game is sick and Froch keeps his hands at his waste. He has no defence. I guarantee he would be easy work for Trinidad. Trinidad would be ducking and countering with left and right hooks that are landing flush all night. Froch would get destroyed. He has not one advantage over Trinidad. Not, speed, skill, power. And yeah hes out of shape. But hes never shown to be tired in the ring. So he can get ready when he has to. Tito TKO 7 0r less still. Froch showed me nothing.
Tito's movement is nothing to write home about either..plus his chin is pure china.
Froch is too much for Chito.
Against Myorga he stayed inside and beat him because of Myorgas lack of skills. I think the same thing would happen to Froch. He is absolutely skilless. My biggest point is froch fights with his hands down. He has no defence. That would be easy for Tito, so easy. I mean Tito has only lost to fast skill fighters that have good defence, Roy, Bernard, Winky. Froch is not even close to any of those guys. And he is much slower than Tito even now.
