Davis Jr and Meldrick Taylor actually fought each other to a draw back in the 80's. Davis Jr was past his best but still significantly faster from a distance while Taylor's flurries dominated the action in close.
Yep. I have that fight and it shows you that many comments on this topic are from people guessing and not knowing what the hell they are talking about.
Really?
That's really hard to imagine. I got to see this fight. Is it on youtube somewhere?
No it's kind of rare now.
I'd rate the two of them among the fastest ever. Davis Jr had his best days in the amateurs though.

Those were shoeshine punches. I thought it was going to be full extension.
That's still impressive, but not overly. I still think Taylor could of done way more.

He is 53 years old now.

Holie rusted metal batman!!!
I thought Hozumi was fast. This dude is the fastest. It wasn't 30 punches in 3 seconds though. It was actually 28 at the 3.0 mark. Still amazing. I give him the title...

lol you retard you don't know what pound for pound means do you?
Pound for Pound means the exact OPPOSITE of what you just said. If Leonard's hand speed at 140lbs was slightly faster than Roy Jones' speed at 168 (very slightly) that means P4P Jones would probably still be considered faster. Please go learn what p4p means.
Then what does it say when Leonard's past prime handspeed at 160 against Hagler was even faster than prime Roy's handspeed against anyone at 160?
this gen does have one... that 'dryhump' from calzaghe on bhop:boxing:
And it's the same retarded fans that get a kick out of that "highlight" that moan and bitch on a regular basis that mma is gay.
you dumbasses must realize these other guys like meldrick taylor, and camacho are fighting at lower weights like 140 and yet most of these clips are of Jones from 160 and 168 and yet his hands still look quicker. Now THAT'S amazing. P4P Jones fastest of all time.
It's "fastest hands pound for pound".
Meaning, the fastest hands, with no particular quabble with weight issues.
Meldrick and Ray's handspeed were faster than Roy's.
In the time it took Roy to snap off 4 shots, Ray and Meldrick could snap off 8.

You realize that Leonard fought Hagler at 160 at the end of his career after being already retired for 3 years still just about as fast while RJJ clips were during his prime. and you're callin who a dumbass??
Meldrick was the fastest fighter I've ever seen.
Roy and Ray were close, but Taylor clearly had the edge on them.
Meldrick would rip 8 or 9 shot combinations in the pocket in a matter of mere moments.
Ray Leonard is a close second, Jones I'd place in the top 5, at #5.
Roy basically liked to let rip with singular shots, or 1-2's. Occasionally he's bust a 3 or 4 shot combo, but never to the extent that Ray and Meldrick busted them out.
I go out of my way to defend Calzaghe a lot from the ignorant band of Calzaghe haters, but...
Seriously? You must be joking...
What? No, the guy had fast hands, it's really shown in the Lacy, Roy Jones Jr., and Manfredo fights.
I'm not saying he's a hard puncher, but the guy has fast hands.
Nice vid. Is/was there any one faster than RJJ in his prime?
Camacho was just as fast as RJJ at times, when you take into account the kind of power+speed he could get behind some of his punches. his speed+power combo against Limon was unbelievable.
Taylor was quicker with his flurries than RJJ, but overall RJJ was the quicker one.
Leonard was kind of an inbetween mix of RJJ and Taylor when it came to his quickness.
btw, this video was made by TheManchine. good stuff.
