I think you're right. The public's losing interest and even people who are more than casual fans are losing interest. Sure, if the fight happens next year it'll be big, but not as big as it could have been. Manny's always wanted this fight, so we only have Floyd to blame on this one. After agreeing to everything that was laid out, Manny was ready. Instead, Floyd left us all hanging. :nonono:
This fight HAS to happen. There's no way you can't have a fight between the two top fighters in the world today. It has to happen in 2011. Letting it slip would only hurt boxing and make it sink even more. When you have two top fighters in the world today, there's no ifs or buts. The fans want it and the fans deserve it. I just don't see a reason why this fight wouldn't happen or why they wouldn't give it to the fans.
Floyd acts like he owns the sport of boxing. He wants to make rules for a sport that already has rules, and their not bad to begin with. I think Floyd forgets what he realy is, and that's a fighter. Another fighter in the sport of boxing. No matter how big he is, when it comes down to it he's another fighter. And there's nothing wrong with that, Tyson always knew his place. Ali knew his place, why doesn't Floyd know his place? It gets really irritating when these big ego's are stopping fights from ever happening.
I hope a rematch between these two happens. We'll never know if Margarito used illegal hand wraps in the first fight, but if a second one happened it would show every one who the better fighter really is. For me, that would be Cotto. I still believe Margarito used an illegal substance and the brutal beating that Cotto recieved supports my argument. Never before have I seen Cotto receive such a brutal beat down like the one he got in that fight. His face was a mess and he dropped to one knee to end the fight. Margarito was definitely up to something, and I'm hoping a rematch gets made so Cotto can put that cheater in his place.
You can get the benefits of Peds in training, you don't have to take something on fight night.
Everything's a mess lol
When it comes down to it, putting favorites aside, I just want to see this fight happen :P
Tax him? How? According to reports from their first "agreement" they agreed to a 50-50 split. Even reports this time around said the same thing. Does anyone have a better answer to defend Floyd's statement? Hell, being that Manny's in politics now, you'd think Floyd would have accepted thinking he could catch Manny at less than %100. :nonono:
Pacquiao could have accepted the offer the first time around and he didn't, lets not forget that.
True. But why is Floyd trying to make rules for a sport that already has rules? Manny supposedly accepted the proposed testing policy laid out by Floyd this time around and this time Floyd ducks? I can understand Pac's reason to decline the first time. I wouldn't give in to such proposals if I were in his position, knowing that the I'd be drug tested after the fight. As for Floyd ducking this time, I see no reasonable explanation. Manny agreed to everything.
Manny agreed to the old offer after Mayweather already said it was off the table, Mayweather said no cut off date and no 50/50 if the Mosley fight sold more than Pacs, 3 months ago.
What I don't get is the drug testing part. Why can't they simply get tested right after the fight? I mean, whatever went into their body before the fight will still be there after, right??
Pactards? lol, Manny was actually ready to fight. Now Floyd's ducking. "Not desperate"!? If Floyd really wants to show the world that he's better than Pac, than he should have accepted the deal. Pac's a warrior, he'll fight anyone to prove he's number 1, whereas Floyd continues to duck the #1 P4P King.
Manny's the man. Definitely the greatest fighter in boxing today. Honorable and always willing to fight the best. Whereas Floyd, who's got great boxing skills, doesn't want to fight his biggest threat, and continues to make up excuses. Shit, Pacquiao's a congressman, you'd expect him to say "I don't have time to fight with my new job."
floyd is a once in every 15 years kind of fighter....
pac is a once in a lifetime kinda of fighter.....
they are both special!
Agree.
Although I hate Floyd's cockiness, there's no denying his great boxing skills. But you're right. A fighter like Floyd comes every 10-15 years.
Manny is a once in a lifetime kind of fighter. This guy is a beast, and has gone through 7 divisions already. Manny is definitely, without a doubt, the #1 P4P King. With Floyd possibly at #2.
If this was actually Khan and Bradley, I have to say Khan is sounding pretty confident... Maybe too confident. Anyone know if the supposed fight with Marquez and Khan would be at 135? Or would it be at 140?
