I think Haye will find the fight tough, but you have to give him credit for chasing fights like this. He certainly isnt scared! Let's just hope the fight happens.
It got such good numbers because everybody wanted to know what would happen when David met Goliath. Even my girlfriend wanted to watch it and she hates boxing!!!
I am looking forward to it because he is a "well groomed talent" as you put it. If you don't like watching the future stars in action, you don't like boxing. Idiot!
good lord you are a dreadful poster...
Theres one thing to hate the guy but to claim a guy whos far superior to you in everyway just shows what acunt you are...
Froch is more athletic than you...has a a girlfriedn uinlike you(whom of which is the fittest out of all the boxers), has more money than you and is more famous than you...
For someone to beat pascal, taylor(in america) then dirrell is something truely great...he has every righ tot be cocky...
Now get the **** off this thread you southern nonce...
He is a terrible poster!!!! Haha...pots and kettles. No offence, but if there was an award for terrible spelling and grammar, there is only one winner. As someone has already said, are you drunk?
Apparently Top Rank is planning to show some of the undercard fights free prior to Saturday’s Pacquiao-Cotto PPV, which will include Korobov. Aum said something like: “We are going to feed the part of the undercard that is not on pay-per-view. We are going to put it on various channels on inDemand, cable systems, on DirecTV and on Dish Network and that will run from 7-8:30 PM ET."
Yeah he has looked the part so far. This fight has been a while coming, so hopefully he will put on another impressive show and move on to bigger and better things.
the "hype" factor has more to do with the fact the us americans are bombarded with haye, froch, hatton, and khan in our boxing publications on a regular basis, when the reality is, none of them are world-class fighters, and IMO only khan has world-class type of talent...
as the voting indicates, it gets annoying after a while...
we saw hatton get bombed TWICE...haye fight the most boring fight in history...froch get a disgusting hometown decision...and khan want to leave town because he believes he racially persecuted...
not exactly a bastion of success in the world of british boxing...sorry to break the news to ya...
I'm sorry...where did I say the words 'bastion of success in the world of british boxing'? I was just pointing out that the British public like their boxing. You seem to have got the wrong end of the stick, so to speak.
Has the whole 'British boxers are overhyped' nonsense come from just two decisions - Froch and Haye? I can understand when it comes to Froch, as I believed Dirrell won the fight, but I firmly believe Haye deserved to beat Valuev. I'm not British, but I'm living here at the moment and I don't think the British boxers are overhyped...the British public just love their boxing, what's so wrong with that?
Most americans, but not all. The British market is huge, so that's why they get attention. Look at the ratio of american boxers to british boxers, its a massive difference, so any british boxers that make a name for themselves are hyped up to tap into the british market. It is a business as much as it is a sport....I'm just trying to explain why they are hyped up, so I'm not pandering to them. Hope that makes sense.
Thanks for this guys, interesting to see your thoughts.
I have added up the position and divided it by the number of posts to give the following results (boxers not on a list I gave a fixed 11th place to).
So it reads (with average position in brackets):
1 Ali (1.00)
2 Louis (2.25)
=3 Holmes (4.00)
=3 Lewis (4.00)
5 Foreman (6.25)
6 Frazier (7.00)
7 Marciano (7.50)
8 Dempsey (7.75)
9 Liston (8.50)
10 Holyfield (9.00)
Interesting to note that no Klitsckos made any of the the lists, especially with all the talk in forums at the moment. Anyway, I shall use these results for the article.
Thanks again
Yeah from what I have seen of Brook he looks the business, but it is just such a hard division. Can't wait to see what he does against Jennings, hopefully end it early and then go on to bigger things. I'm a big fan of Jamie Moore and Matthew Macklin, but they haven't really progressed as much as I thought they would.
