Talk about an addict. This guy just cant get over it.
Johnny has been through so much, he has had a really hard life, his book is very sad! he was the best super flyweight of all time! the guy was a legend and a great fighter in his prime
Why should he retire cos he is now more of a defence fighter?? his last 3 fights he has beat middleweight champion pavlik, middleweight contender enrique ornealas and atg and future ibhf fighter roy jones, and out of his last 3 fight's he hasnt lost no more than 5 rounds! that 36 rounds and hopkins has lost no more than 5 rounds!! he also should of been given at the very least a draw against calzaghe! he should look for fights against bute, dawson, cunningham and froch, i give hopkins a 50/50 chance in all of them
well he's not that old but in a sense Manny Pacquiao. Usually as guys hit 30 and move up in weight they get slower, older, worse, and start getting beat. This guy hits 30 and 31 moves up a ton of weight and is even stronger and beating even better guys
yeah pacquiao is looking the best he has ever looked at 31
Agreed. Wladamir is extremly underrated. Damn good fighter.
Hopefully he gets more credir when retired, like alot of former HW champions.
Good to see you posting on here BOX2008, you are one of the best posters on here. Yes i agree once he retires he will get his credit, just like lennox lewis did
floyds fighting mosley..thats a great fight....after he gets passed him then we can talk about who he should fight next...
Mosley hasnt been in a ring for 16 months and is 39, he is past his best and always comes up short against a good boxer, floyd wins this big!
The american public sure doesnt take him seriously. HBO will not even show his fights anymore? I bet they are regreting not showing the Chambers fight. We got shit like Arreola vs Adamek being shown on hbo but a hw championship fight is not?
Hbo will be showing the haye fight i think?
LOL @ your stupid list.
When did Pavlik, Martinez, and Williams come down to 147?
Bradley is not in the same league as Floyd.
We have yet to see what Margacheato can do without plaster. Why should Floyd reward him with his biggest payday of his career after being caught trying to cheat?
Berto is the only legit guy on your list.
Pavlik, Williams and Martinez would all give floyd a harder time than a 39 year old mosley who has been out the ring for 16 odd months, and if floyd is this big great fight that he keeps on saying he will go up in weight and fight them just like true all time greats did like armstrong, duran and robinson did, your the stupid one cause you dont know what your talking about! fact!!!!!!!!
A Haye win doesn't make Wlad a legend. But he will have eliminated his biggest threat and completed his dominance over HW, sans Valuev. But Haye is better than Valuev anyway.
Rocky Marciano is a legend one of my all time favourites but he spent his title reign beating up washed up lightheavyweight, its was not rocky's fault he never had a dance partner like dempsey, ali, frazier or foreman, just like its not wlads give the man his due respect he beats haye he is a great fighter fact!
Was one of the most exciting heavyweights of the 90's, and the guy can punch like a mule, would of like to of seen morrison against the likes evander holyfield, mike tyson, frank bruno, riddick bowe and michael moorer back in the 90's
Jeff Fenech
Fought for the world title within 6 months of turning pro in his sixth fight. After only one and a half years as a pro with 11 fights fought prime HOFer Daniel Zaragoza, who had just previously won the WBC BW title and would go on straight after to win the SBW title and become one of the, if not the, greatest SBW ever. He (Fenech) had also just beaten 26-0 Jerome Coffee who was a massively hyped, top ranked prospect. Then fought former Olympic Gold Medalist and another hugely hyped pro fighter, the undefeated Steve McCrory (borther of Milton), then fought undefeated champion Samart Payakaroon, then BW champ Greg Richardson who would go on to dominate BW after Fenech moved up, then HOF legend Carlos Zarate.
So, within 18 pro fights and just three years, he had beaten three undefeated champs or high pedigree top ranked prospects, five former/future or current champs and two legendary HOF fighters along with capturing world titles in two divisions.
great post benny, jeff fenech was a great fighter, aussies best ever?
question: if a fighter has smoked and drinked for lets say about 5 years, and then quit both things while in his twenties and then lived the rest of his life clean and was a gym rat, would he still be as successful?
yeah hopkins, tarver and campbell all didnt start living a clean life style til in there 20's
He is a good fighter can punch a little bit, has a good chin and is huge for the weight 5 foot 11, this wont be a easy night like alot of people think for berto
Is he slow?[/QUOTEI wouldnt say he was slow, but is like a lot of strong come forward mexican they like to load up with there punches and dont like to move there feet
the winner will be involved in a title eliminator for a belt.oquendo should have been considered before chisora or any of the recent title challengers.he was on the end of contraversy vs toney, mormeck, ruiz, byrd, holyfield.has there ever been a guy other then glen johnson who couldnt get a close decision? angelo dundee is training fres now.its only part time but it could only help.he has more rds then any other boxer then the klits, has fought much better competition then anyone but the the klits.you could make an arguement hes fought better then vitali.why not fres? if guys like chisora with 64 rds of experience or kingpin & sosnowski get shots there is no reason not to give fres a shot.
oquendo had the talent to be a world champion he has just been robbed so many time's in big fights
