A raw,green teenage Martinez? Really?
His best win is Cotto. And we know the cloud that hangs over that fight.
Since when is some who is just about to turn 24 a teenager, it's the other way around dipsh1t. Plus, Sergio had more amateur background than Tony did, they were both raw and green. Sergio hasn't had a legit loss since Tony either. So what are you really talking about?
Garcia would beat Ortiz hands down. Victor lacks focus and loses his composure easily. Once Victor has lost his focus, there is no recovering for him. Plus, Angel Garcia would have Ortiz's head so messed up he'd likely go lights out in 4 or under.
You are showing you are bothered by our opinions of him. That's fine, because we are all like that to a certain degree. Just like I can't stand guys that overrate the Klitschkos.
That statement makes no sense. I'm showing I'm bothered because I have a difference of opinion and choose to voice it? Wth is the point of posting on a forum if you're not going to voice your opinion?
:dunno:
I don't think he would 'box Rios's ears off' in fact, I don't see him beating Brandon at all. Everyone is all hyped on Broner cause dude comes in over weight and beats the sh1t out guys who are naturally much smaller than he is. At 140, he's not gonna be the biggest dog in the yard.
He has a lot of skills. You just can't see it cuz you don't like him.
I never once said I don't like him, did I?
I agree he's talented, but your argument right here is pretty juvenile :lol1:
I'm a realist. It's easy for him to look so good against Escobedo and his most noteworthy win was against DeMarco. Tell me who else he has beaten to give him this God like status that had him jumping for nowhere to 5th on a P4P list?
Realistically, I think he would lose luster because he wouldn't have that size/reach advantage he does now.
Mares deserves a p4p ranking over Broner for sure. I can't understand who would see it as a logical move to place Broner on the list at 5 no less. He doesn't have the resume nor has he even began to show any sort of discipline. Who is there to make a tough fight for him at 135? Abril? Maybe? He's naturally bigger in build for his WC. When Broner moves up to 140, he's going to look average. I'm hoping to see him against Rios, a real fight testing his worth on any p4p list.
Ring made their list a joke with those rankings.
you said rios would be a good test for broner at 140. i think that is laughable at best. but i do agree with you that broner needs to be tested at 140, but a real test, not brandon rios lol
I'm slightly baffled as to how you think Rios wouldn't be a good test. He has power, likes to brawl, and has a solid chin. He can take a beating. Broner couldn't come in over weight and bully him. Rios would hurt him. Alvarado would give Broner a tough test. Even Danny Garcia would make Broner look like a prick. Khan would be too quick for him at 140 too.
Rios Broner would be a fantastic fight.
uhh broner schooling a tomato can hardly makes him belong on a p4p list, but an actual threat at 140 is a must for broner when he moves up
I'm pretty sure that's what I just said mate. Broner needs a test to show why he's on a p4p list. So far I've seen nothing. I think Rios would walk him down and batter him at 140.
Broner somewhat proved himself with demarco. Demarco was bigger and a decent puncher. Before that fight a lot of people said demarco would win, now noone gives Broner credit for that win. Just because broner made him look bad doesn't mean he is.
I was one of those people who wanted to see DeMarco win, truth be told. And it was evident that Broner out classed him early on. But DeMarco was sort of number one by default no?
Again, that is most definitely Broner's most notable win, I still think he wouldn't fair as well in the 140 wc.

Ps: how does asking questions make me an idiot? Thanks for the green, douche :lol1:
What you said here shows why you are bothered by my opinion of him.
"Everyone is all hyped on Broner cause dude comes in over weight and beats the sh1t out guys who are naturally much smaller than he is. At 140, he's not gonna be the biggest dog in the yard."
No :lol1:
My statement right there is truth.
Of course Broner looks so special in 135.
True or not true:
Broner is NATURALLY a bigger build than most of his opponents?
Broner deliberately failed to make weight against Escobedo, not only was it deliberate, but he taunted him. Twinkies. Ahem.
Broner has yet to meet an opponent of formidable strength, size, reach and power?
Those question I pose to you don't make me 'bothered', they mean I'm not stupid and can ask legit questions of a fighter who went from nothing to p4p number 5 in the world!?
I can tell just by the way you talk about him. Its called reading between the lines. I'll admit he hasn't proven himself yet, but that's why we are talking about him. That's what makes the conversation interesting. And where are you getting God like status? Just because a few guys here like him? A FEW. If you haven't noticed at least 75% of the posters here can't stand the guy.
That's the thing. I don't mind Broner, but I think he's getting far too much credit for things he has not earned and accomplished yet.
God like status was an appropriate term, as I said he jumped up p4p rankings and has people thinking he can walk through entire weight divisions with no problems whatsoever.
You shouldn't read between the lines though, I say exactly what I mean. No need to insert things into my statements.
I'm not comfortable with thinking Broner can beat established fighters at 140 when he's not really shown himself at 135.
So, you think Rios beats Broner based on what Rios did to Alverado? Man, those are two different fighters. All Rios proved was he could beat a 140 pound fighter that goes toe to toe with him. What happens when he gets in there with a skilled fighter like Broner? It is very possible the outcome could be very different. Just saying.
Again, you're putting words in my mouth :lol1:
I'm not into triangle theories. I'm saying Rios proved HIMSELF by withstanding and KOing a FORMIDABLE opponent in Alvarado. Thus showing that he is worth his hype. His chin is solid and he has power.
Where is Broner's test? Where?
oh you mean like Rios??
Did you miss Rios Alvarado? I'll admit, I was wanting to see Alvarado win, but Bramdon showed why he has all the hype behind him. Tell me when Broner did that?
I understand what you are saying, but you are basing how good Rios is from his fight with Alverado. I'm saying Alverado is not as good as Broner, but I won't ask you who Alverado beat to make you think he was such a good test for Rios. Its your opinion, I'm fine with that. Even if Broner moved up and beat the best guy at 140 pounds, that wouldn't automatically mean he beats Rios. One fight doesn't prove anything.
I'm not comparing Alvarado and Broner's abilities. Alvarado was ready for war with Rios. He was not going to make it easy for him and he does have skill and power. I don't think any reasonable person could disagree with the statement that Alvarado wanted to beat Rios and is not a pillow-fisted tune up.
I personally think that Broner's biggest problem will be that he thinks he deserves that p4p ranking, he is buying into his own hype. I don't think he would take a fight with Rios seriously and he would greatly pay for that. Brandon is undeniably strong. He hits hard. Broner hasn't had to deal with a power puncher yet. Unless I've missed something?
I think he would beat most guys at 140 including Khan and Alvarado. I have him about even money with Garcia and Rios. Guys that could make 140 and beat him in my opinion would be Marquez, Pacquiao, Bradley, and Matthysse. I forgot about Peterson. I think Broner vs. Peterson would be another 50 50 fight that either man could win.
How does Broner beat Khan but go 50 50 with Peterson when Peterson solely won his fight with Khan on khan's stupidity? I think Broner beats Peterson. He's too strong for him.
I think Broner also beats Khan based on his strength, but only after he tags Amir a few times and slows him down. If khan gets his defense up and can avoid Broner connecting with his body, then he out boxes Broner and speed is his advantage.
Why does it bother you though? Who cares if some of us think he's better than what you think he is. We are just giving our opinions. That's what makes this forum fun and interesting. This place wouldn't exist without opinions. Do I think he's ready right now to move up and take everyone out? No, but I think there's a good chance if they take their time (not too much time) he will be more than ready by the time he gets there. I think he is improving with every fight. I think its ridiculous people keep bring up the Ponce fight, when that was then and this is now. I don't think he will look as good as he did against Demarco in every fight for now on, because that had a lot to do with styles, but it did say something about him as a fighter. Anyone that doesn't see the potential there is blinded for some reason or another. A lot of it has to to with dislike for the guy.
I'm not bothered though. It's funny how people talk about their opinions and blah blah whilst saying I have to hate Broner, be 'bothered' or a 'hater' for expressing mine?
I don't even know how you could make the 'its out opinion' arguement whilst trying to discredit..... My. Opinion.
