I've been gone from these forums for a few months due to the massive amounts of stupidity. Sadly, nothings changed.
How's it been P4P?
This thread literally brought me to tears. It's so pathetic that it's impossible not to laugh. I mean the guy said "defense takes very little skill... it's very easy", and expects someone to take him serious.
is Pac a great fighter? Yes, and he very well may be the best southpaw in boxing. But the most skilled of all time? He isn't even the most skilled of all active fighters. That title belongs to Chad Dawson.
As for the comparisons to Sweat Pea and The Marvelous One? I can't even take those serious. I mean really, it's beyond sad. Hell, Pacquiao isn't even as skilled as Camacho or Winky, and the list goes on.
Also, TS is getting greatness mixed up with skill.
To be fair, if Mayweather was Dawson he would've waited until Pascal was 38 to fight him.
When Mayweather was 28, he was on another level entirely. Literally a man amongst boys. Go rewatch the Judah and Gatti fights, that's boxing at it's best.
Dawson needs to lose this fight. All the talent in the world and wont use it.... Sad.
Mayweather at 28 was a complete monster, never again will I compare their boxing ability.
I think he's just as skilled as Floyd, but he's just not as focused and discipline as Floyd was at that age.
I think he's focused and disciplined, he lacks that Mayweather hunger. People can say what they want about Mayweather, but dudes was hungry.
Dawson can KO Pascal, and he wont.
1 lost and all of a sudden a boxer just is not elite anymore....
Losing should not affect anything.
I have always felt that your greatness is truly proved on how you comeback from a lost.
If Dawson is truly as good as I have said he is. Then he will come back better and stronger than ever after tonight. If he is not what "we" thought he was then we will find out surely. One lost doesn't prove anything.
Fans should stop getting so carried away after a fight. Lets stop being so quick with the judgement calls.
It's not about the loss itself, but about how he lost. He had Pascal hurt multiple times, but wouldn't press, wouldn't attack, settled for standing and watching as opposed to throwing and landing.
If he would have went out there and gave his all, exhausted all his options, fought until he could no longer stand, then I wouldn't be griping. But when you have someone literally buckled, out on their feet and dazed, and you stop and watch? I have an issue with that.
I'm still a Chad fan, but he disappointed me tonight, and it has nothing to do with his skill level.
I totally agree.
And to say Dawson doesn't have heart?
Were you guys not watching the 11th round?
Shows how much of a true fan of a fighter is when they automatically turn their back on the fighter after they lose...
Dawson is my second favorite fighter as well, and I personally believe he's the most talented boxer in boxing not named Mayweather.
However, he reminds me of LeBron James. Tremendous talent, great physical attributes, and all the potential in the world, but he lacks that killer instinct the greats have.
Chad will pick up from here and have a great career, but unless he changes his mentality in the ring, he'll never live up to his potential.
Well, it's called a second chance. Sometimes, in one's line of work, things don't always go right. Dawson just has to come back to work and not fail next time.
He needs a new trainer.
This is why Mayweather is the best in the business. When he gets hurt, he comes back with a fire, like it's his duty to come out and kill someone. Dawson takes a hit, and well... just takes the hit.
Dawson by HBO robbery
God Dawson. WHYYYYY
This is exactly why I gotta laugh at the people who say its easy to just "run" like Mayweather and throw in a few shots here and there. Its not easy to not get hit and counter punch back at the same time. Dawson is showing this
This to me sets Mayweather waaaayyyyy ahead of everybody else.
He already get beat by Johnson who isn't by miles an extraordinary fighter...
He needs motivation,he's well prepared...
He beat Johnson.
He needs someone Mayweather Sr's level in his corner. Hell, go get Freddi Roach if it'll make you better.
Here's the thing though. You guys bash Hopkins for ducking Dawson and you don't use the analogy that Dawson didn't even beat Tarver as impressively as Hopkins did, but you use the excuse of Dawson not fighting Cloud because Cloud didn't beat Johnson as decisively as Dawson did in the rematch with him. I know a lot of people including myself think Cloud lost against Johnson. But it's still double standards.
When the hell did I bash Hopkins for ducking Dawson?
First off, you're talking in circles. Secondly, the reason Cloud didn't get a shot at Dawson is nobodies fault but his own. Dawson had a contractual agreement to grant Tarver a rematch, instead of Cloud waiting his turn, he enforced his mandatory and had Dawson stripped. Thus, the fight never happened.
Furthermore, I don't object to a potential Cloud vs. Dawson matchup, I simply have no issue with Dawson pursuing a potential super bout with Bute before handling Cloud. In my opinion, Cloud hasn't proven himself to the point where a Cloud vs. Dawson matchup is as intriguing as a Dawson vs. Bute matchup.
STFU you little ho's.
I've been watching boxing since before you two cunts got in your training bra's and learned how to use maxi pads.
Was that supposed to incite laughter? Get outta here with that weak @ss sh!t.
Dawson must have been paid off...he stopped Pascal and Pascal was out on his feet with that uppercut...he lets him go...................Dawson is a fool...........what is he doing..fight over...Dawson loses......damn fool...............
Lol this is crazy. I feel terrible for Dawson... this sucks.
Yes, Yes! That was the 11th, the round they ended up stopping it on a cut. That was Chad's time to get Pascal out of there. Because, I felt that Pascal was gassed anyway and was fighting on whatever heart he had left.
Pascal was exhausted from 5 on.
Get Chad a new trainer. This is ridiculous. Go get Mayweather Sr. back, dude may be a crackhead, but he knows boxing.
Dawson would win if he'd let his hands go.
I think thats it.
Cut from the same cloth.
Both guys were 40' and the domination wasn't all that great. It actually sucked imo cuz' he had a couple of dead men in front of him and all he could do is go to decision.
Never do that again.
If he is impressive in beating Pascal i.e hurts him, drops him and stops him, then I will give props.
If its a ****ty decision win that seems borderline, I'll continue to hammer him.
The more you post, the more you reveal your idiocy.
Berto and Dawson are nothing alike.
Those "40 year old men" were atop the division, and consistently taking out younger opponents. In fact Johnson just took Cloud to hell and back.
You don't know **** about boxing.
I just find it funny how people constantly make threads about Dawson being a P4P caliber fighter when he didn't even beat Tarver as impressively in either fight as Hopkins did in one.
Because Hopkins is a bum right? :dunce:
I pretty much said the exact samething in another topic (the bolded).
Pascal did have more power punches.
One thing I do have to say, Pascal does have a hell ova chin...Dude took that counter uppercut like a ****ing champ!!!!
I just wanted Chad to jump on top of him after that.
3-1 Pascal.
Dawson is embarassing himself. This is NOT the thrid best fighter in the world. Period. P4P wise Floyd and Pacquiao wouldve destroyed Pascal.
Lmao, wtf?
