A lot of people like underdogs too, so its not always about skill or nationality. I know some of my favourites are likely to lose, but they're still my favourites.
Ruiz is the greatest fighter of his generation and will be back. Now that Toney has stolen the belt with the help of bought judges Vitali is going to knock his fat ass out with ease. It's a complete mismatch. Only Ruiz is capable of stopping the ukrainian.

Not liking Trinidad is one thing, but I don't know how anyone can call him a garbage fighter and keep a straight face.
Coming back and losing again would be pretty embarassing, so I'm guessing RJJ will be very motivated to avoid that. I think RJJ will be well prepared and will have that fire back and will come out with a comeback victory.
That was a great Contender. I wanted Joey to lose, but like someone already said, after that fight I couldn't take any joy in his defeat, he showed way too much heart. And that cut was a monster!

Sergio takes all. On a Showtime boxing event that came on a month or 2 ago, a list of ranked boxers in a weight division was shown. Sergio Mora happen to be on that list as a undefeated fighter still. They even anounced him as the boxer from The Contender. Thanks Showtime for ruining a pretty good show.

In my opinion this guy is what I call "big for nothing" his shots aren't even hard. He just wails his hands like an amateur in a high school fight and gets lucky sometimes. He may look intimidating but he really doesn't live up to how he looks. He's 350 with a shitload of muscle and he hits as hard as a lightweight, can't even put his body weight into his KO punches.
I've seen him lots and I wouldn't say he can't hit hard. That couldn't be more wrong. Sapp has knocked out world class kickboxers before. He has no skill, all he has is his hitting power. The man is 6'5" and usually weighs around 350lbs, his next fight is in June (kickboxing) and he is reported to wiegh about 397lbs right now for that one. He also claims to have less than 10% body fat.
He is not a fighter at all, he hates being hit in the face, even cringes when he is tapped there.

Fair enough, I used to feel that way about him, but then after watching Beyond The Glory I kind of felt bad for the guy. Seems like he's been pissed on for his whole life. As far as rape goes...who knows if he actually did it or not. He seems to have had a lot of bad breaks in his life.
These fights weren't really all that great. I wasn't terribly impressed with anyone other than Ishe. lol when Sly called one of the fights a John Ruiz fest. Way too much hugging and mugging in all the fights for my liking.
I don't remember who the fight was against, but I thought it was pretty cowardly when Wladimir Klitschko quit at the end of a fight that he was dominating because he hurt his shoulder. All he had to do was go back out and stand there and he would have won the fight, but he quit instead. Not much heart shown there.
