In a very sad turn of events in the world of boxing, former champion Diego Corrales, 29, was killed in a Las Vegas motorcycle accident on Monday night. Las Vegas boxing writer Kevin Iole received word from Corrales' manager, James Prince, who had just arrived at the scene shortly after 9:50 p.m. PDT.
"It's true, I'm sad to say. I'm looking at the scene now," Prince told Iole.
The accident was confirmed to Iole by a spokesman at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, and said to have taken place at the intersection of Fort Apache and Russell Roads in southwest Las Vegas. No additional details were provided.
