Which uppercut was the better punch?

I picked the one landed on Vitali, but both shots are beautiful. Great punch from Lewis.

In both of those Lennox seemed to throw the uppercut on raw armstrength rather than technique. The power from uppercuts are supposed to come from your legs and hip rotation but looked like lennox jus threw an armpunch and got lucky he was really strong.

From what im seeing, Holyfield took the more solid shot. Lewis really ripped that one, the one he landed on Vitaly was more of an arm punch in my opinion.

I'll say the one Holyfield took. Looks like it landed on the jaw or chin area. Its hard to tell exactly where Vitali was hit but it doesn't look like the chin area.

Two very good uppercuts, both seemed like they would have put any other fighter down. Which uppercut was more brutal? :confused: Not sure. Both seem very hard. Some factors/questions I'm considering: Lewis looked tired early on against Vitali and by the time Lewis landed that punch, how much power did he have left? Maybe he was getting his second wind which would go along with Lewis starting to come on strong and his view that he would have finished Vitali in the coming rounds. Not sure. And then what about when he landed the shot on Holyfield; how did he look as far as energy? Where does Lewis's uppercut peak for power? By the time he reaches his chest level, chin level, eye level, top of his head? Balance: how were the feet when he planted down to unleash the uppercut? Lots of things I'm trying to consider. Either way, both are sick shots.

Watch Lewis and not the fighter he lands it on. In the first clip he puts more of his weight behind it, in the 2nd it's more of an arm punch. Both are good and still powerful regardless. Also, they clearly stunned/hurt Klitchko and Holyfield but the first had more force behind it. I'm amazed neither of them went straight down from them though.

VK. I don't particularly remember the Holy uppercut, but the VK one stands out as 1 of the nastiest punches I ever seen.

The first one had way more on it, if Vitali was Holyfields height he would have been out cold.

The 2nd one, Holyfield got his head involuntarily snapping to the side and he's shoulder and had his head lower. Not only that, but he didn't slow the follow through with nothing, Vitlali did with his left arm.

Holyfields was a beauty but VK one wins it for me....

2nd one for sure. first one klit picks his head up and makes it look worse. 2nd one holyfield's head is forced up.

Bump. Nice old thread I ran across. I picked the Holyfield one. I remember watching this fight at my mates Grandma. That cut was grim, I rememer the trainer had his whole thumb in it. Also, is Bozo still banned?

The one on Holyfield looked shorter and harder like it did more damage to me........I think if he would have landed the shot he put on Holyfield there it would have KOed Vitali.

Lewis' most brutal uppercut that I can think of is the one that knocked out Michael Grant. He held his head too. true lol he also tried that on vk, dont get how he can get away with holding with the left and uppercutting with the right

i would say the on one vk was the meanest, lewis went deeper before throwing it. every time i see it i wonder how vk stands on his feet

lewis has better balance and force from his legs in the holyfield shot so it is a better punch.

The one that landed on holyfield easily. The way it snapped holyfields head up and sideways was crazy.

Neither of them compare to the one Foreman hit Frazier with. The second KD. It lifted him off of his fucking FEET.I second. That was just simply vicious.
