Yeah that precedent was set when Mayweather let Maidana beat him up "to give the fans entertainment", that's what his fans said at least.

I think GGG clearly took his foot off the gas after hurting Brook in the first round. He was getting hit way too much for my liking, I hate that he seems to just lose concentration sometimes and stops giving a crap about defense.
Where did you get the idea that Maidana had way more power than Lucas? I'm not saying that he doesn't I just didn't know it was such a set in stone thing.
Anyway, I think Matthysse wins, not as certain of it as before the Postol fight but I don't think it's an indicator of how Broner would do, he fights nothing like Postol.
Because maidana is knocking down Damn near everyone he fights. I think if he fights danny garcia he would do much better than Lucas did
I agree with you that he'd probably do better against Garcia than Lucas.
I rewatched the GGG-Jacobs fight and had it 7-5 GGG, Jacobs did well but I don't think he did enough to win, Golovkin just seemed to do everything better and that jab couldn't miss. I only watched Kovalev-Ward once, didn't score it round by round but generally thought Kovalev won it close.
Don't try and speak for all fans. Eubank didn't want the fight. If GGG would have fought another middleweight not named Jacobs or Saunders he would have been criticized anyway.
Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. Who cares what the biased haters think, they will ALWAYS hate.
And no, I don't like the fight, I think it's way too soon for Brook to challenge Golovkin but I'm not pretending to lose my **** over it.
I think Lemieux would have a pretty good chance at beating Cotto. Obviously he isn't outboxing him but he has the power and size to win. 60-40 fight for Lemieux in my opinion.
I would say I'm more a fan of Pacquiao than Mayweather so I guess I qualify to respond to this thread lol. I didn't think he could win though, I knew a master boxer like Mayweather was going to beat him. Pacquiao put up a good fight but he was too small and lost, simple as that.
It doesn't pain me, that's ridiculous lol. It was a pretty crappy fight where neither one really did anything to make it worth the money or hype.
Good for Floyd, he won. Too bad for Manny but in the end I don't think it does much, if anything, to affect his legacy. I'm just glad most of it is over, can't wait a few years for when we can finally lay it to rest, hopefully anyway.
Agreed!
What did you think of Berto stopping Ortiz, then getting cheap pizza thrown at him???
Ay Dios Mio, at least hand him a honky wrap!!!
Man, that was a monster uppercut Berto landed on him, it was only a matter of time from there.
Ortiz wasn't doing too bad before that though, all things considered. But getting **** thrown at him afterwards was just messed up lol.
That's a tough one really. I've underestimated Danny before and he's proven me wrong before but...going with Bradley on this one, not completely certain, its hard to count Danny out
So Golovkin is ducking Lara and Ward again. You do realize that Saunders has a BELT and that GGG wants to UNIFY, right?
Lara and Ward offer nothing to him at the MIDDLEWEIGHT division.
Besides, if he beat Lara, which he would most likely do, you people would just ***** that he dragged up a 154 pound fighter.
If Jacobs had a belt that mattered then you can use him to push your agenda but he doesn't. Saunders does, end of story.
Pac's pretty old now and without a doubt past his prime, although not completely shot just yet. I think it's a testament to his greatness that he changed his style and STILL finds a way to win.
Is he haunted by ko6? Probably, but who wouldn't be? Lol
Nice to see the trolls at a minimum in here. I figured more people would be trying to somehow blame Golovkin for this.
Maybe Eubank will face him in the future. Idk, who cares anymore
I honestly hope he's clean and this was just some misunderstanding. I was really warming up to Vargas. If it turns out he knowingly used peds that'll suck but can't make a special case for anyone.
