The Tito/ Vargas fight was one of the best fights I've ever seen: two warriors going at for 11rds, such a great fight man. But I'm sorry man, DLH "outboxed" tito for like 9rds--obviously DLH coasting the last three rounds (thinking he had done enough) was a shocker but he still won the fight in my opinion. A few of my rican friends even admitted it to me--albeit, they were die-hards though.

Maidiana's one of my favorite fighters, but Floyd would be too much for him...

I agree man, I think he would've been too strong for Trinidad and man his jab, still to this day, is the best I've ever seen. Ike Quartey was a very underrated fighter in my opinion.

I tell you what, if it would've took place before Ike fought Lopez, I'd give small edge to Ike in winning a close decision. A lot people don't know this but Ike caught malaria back in Ghana right before fighting Lopez--who was an extremely dangerous fighter back then, no one wanted anything to do with Lopez at 147--and Ike damn near won that fight with one hand man. This said, Ike's jab--which was better than Wright's at the time--would've kept Trinidad at bay just as it did DLH. When a guy has a very strong jab, it's very hard for fighters to establish a rhythm b/c the jabs always knocking him off balance-watch the DLH and Wright fights, Trinidad looked confused in there. And Ike's defense wasn't too shabby either: ask DLH, who, other than the last round, couldn't land s*&t. The only problem with Ike's game was his tendency to brawl at times, he mainly only threw two punches at a time and of course he tended to fade down the line a bit. This is were a "prime" Trinidad--aka, before the DLH fight--would've had his moments: in the laters rounds Trinidad was arguably one of the most dangerous fighters of all time. Ike definately see's the canvas in this fight, there's no doubt in my mind--because of the way he fights, he's right there to get hit. This topic is fun to me because, I've actually played this fight in my head a few times. If you look at the opponents they faced, you can't forget Ike, arguably, "outboxed" DLH, who, arguably, "outboxed" Trinidad so if you play on that logic, Ike should get the decision. But then again, Vargas "outboxed" Ike, who was "KO'd" by Trinidad so--so much for logic. All I can say is--w/o question--in their respective primes, they were two "extremely" dangerous fighters. Ike's 2x4 jab would've canceled out a KO in my opinion, but Trinidad would've started connecting with big punches (that damn left hook) in the later rounds, putting Ike in survival mode a bit. My prediction is Trinidad wins a close controversial split decision. If Trinidad got the nod over golden boy DLH, then Ike damn near would have to put Trinidad in a wagon to get the decision--which I doubt happens, Ike didn't have the type of explosion with his punches. So, that's my prediction, Trinidad gets busted up for the first six rounds, comes on late, puts Quartey on the canvas, thus putting him in survival mode and Tito goes on to win a very tough controversial decision. Would've been one helluva fight though!!!!

"Remove the knocked down that was a trip, and the point deductions... and If you go round for round scoring... it's a draw, it you look at the over all fight and judge, Peterson won... Peterson landed more power shots and cleaner punches in all the rounds he won... Khan won rounds cause he pitty pat and ran, holding Peterson's head down so he wouldnt get hit with the body shots. Khan had one clear round easily won, all the others were because Peterson didnt land as much but when he did land it was hard shots." I thought it was a draw too...I agree, Khan landed the most punches but they didn't do as much damage as Petersons--who was landing some very vicious body punches in the middle rounds. For what it's worth, I thought it was a real good fight though. Khan's stock didn't diminish because of the lost, so I don't think he should be that bitter; just rematch the guy in a different venue and see what happens. This is all apart of boxing man..

Khan still think he's in the amatuers....this is the pros man; when you lose a very close controversial decision, you dominate the rematch, thereby winning a greater fan base.

They're two highly skilled counterpunchers; so, I would say same result--even with Marquez's added bulk, Floyd's still too big for marquez...

He was so obsessed with showing people Tito was as good a "boxer" as DLH or Hopkins that he ended up picking the fight with Jones. At that stage a fight with a guy like Bika or even Lacy would have been way diferent even if it got him looking one dimensional like most claimed." I don't know what kind of rum Trinidad Sr. was drinking when he put Trinidad in there with big-ass Roy: Roy had the faster hands, better foot work and the most power.

LOL, I don't know what's so false about it, Zab Judah, although a very good southpaw in his prime, has always had issues with stamina-which, of course, effects a boxers punching power in the later rounds. He pretty much licked both Cotto and Clottey in the first six rounds of those fights but gased out in the later rounds. The implication is understood if we're both comparing two left-handed fighters with punching power. My point was Zab neither has the 4-6 combination hand speed, nor the explosive punching power that Pac brings to the table.

Were boxing to have any integrity left we would not even be discussing this, because Gamboa would be looking to own fw/sfw for the next 4-5 years instead of star-gazing at Pac/May for the payday. And I agree speed isn't everything, but his all around athletecism is the best I've seen since a young Roy. His short stature conceals his strenght,,,I wouldn't let his size fool you, Gamboa is a very strong dude man. The Cuban government subsizes its athletic program,,,so this little dude was brought-up to do nothing other than boxing.

It's about time these two dudes "glove up" and stop with all this BS man, boxing, the sport, needs mega-mega fights to happen once every decade to survive and keep the sport alive.. The build up to a mega-mega fight is unlike any feeling in the world for both die-hards and casual fans alike--this is especiallly true when two heavyweights battle, but two really really good welters can create a "boxing buzz" too. Man, if they sign the contract before Christmas, that'll be the best gift I've received in a long time. LOL

LOL, you're right, I never said it was gonna be easy,,,but at least you kind of agree with me a bit.. A fighter really on have to options with Floyd, 1) Either try their hardest to close the distance or 2) Try their luck at boxing with him. It's number 2 that normally get most fighters in trouble--i.e., Shane, Marquez, etc.

Sparring isn't like an actual fight--it's just work. I've seen them spar on youtube and it looks like Pac's just going through the motion and Khan giving it his all. To Khan's credit he has a real good three punch combination(in no random order) which confuses his opponents a bit--he's a very unorthodox fight bro.

I tell you what,,,,if Bute beats Froch convincingly he removes all doubt from me,,,,hell I'll even put him on my top 5 favorite list--b/c the boy can box... This said, a win over a 42yr old Johnson (although impressive, b/c Johnson is a tough SOB) isn't gonna win him any new fans outside Canada. I'd say, Bute needs one or two wins over an elite fighter--i.e., Froch, Kessler, to be a household name; thus, paving the way for a massive showdown with himself and Ward. Fact is, Ward's the champion right now and he became champ by fighting better opposition.

I like Cotto, but he's not a good counterpuncher, plus Pac has too much hand speed for him. The only way Cotto does well against Pac is at 154 and "sticking and moving" for 12rds which wouldn't be a good fight in my opinion. I'm not saying he can't beat Pac, I'm just saying that he wouldn't look good doing...

I don't like it when he switches to southpaw in the ring...it makes no sense unless the guy's really dumb enough to fall for it....Other than that he's still a very dangerous contender though.

Gamboa fighting anyone b/w 126-140, is a force to be recon with--why? Well, it's simple: his super fast hand speed--which is faster than both Pac and Floyd. He's a little guy bro, but it doesn't matter b/c of how fast he get his punches off. The million dollar question is whether or not he keeps that hand speed, b/c if he skips a beat, fighting those two guys could mean a KO or embarassment. I think he and Pac could fight at a catchweight though. Pac for the first time would have to deal with a lil dude with faster hands than him,,,how does Pac make that adjustment we don't know? But, one things for certain someone gets knocked out in this fight--b/c of the two aggressive styles. Mayweather being the much bigger fighter wouldn't necessary be the stronger of the two: plus Gamboa hit harder than Mayweather. Again if Gamboa keeps that hand speed (which at 147 I doubt, but you never know) his style would give Floyd fits--at least in the early rounds it would. Plus, Gamboa's quickness of feet would kind of throw Mayweather's game off a bit as well: Floyd would have a guy who's just as balance and graceful as he in the ring--but younger. Also, I just don't think you can potshot a lil fast hand dude with a lot pop--it would be kind of dangerous for Floyd to even stay in pocket and try and "d" that lil dude up man. Floyd's shoulder roll defense is designed to catch a lot of wide punches--which, of course, Gamboa doesn't throw: Gamboa throws what's called a chopping right hand, it's extremely quick, fighters don't see it coming and he never misses with it. Gamboa's only problem with Mayweather, obviously, would be his no head movement (Floyd would have a field day with that), and of course, his experience level--i.e., getting too excited, punching his self out or getting too careless in there--Floyd's a very slick fighter bro. I think his promoters is doing the right thing though, I know I if I had a gold medalist exciting prospect like that, I'd be calling out all the elite guys,,,,,but I agree with everyone else, let's see what he does against a guy like Rios first at 135, who's no push over himself.

Ortiz didn't have anymore fight in him,,,,Berto's right Ortiz tried to box with the best boxer on the planet and found out just how hard it was. To beat Floyd, you gotta kind of bum rush him--throw his phenomenal timing off a bit. In theory a really good counter-puncher shouldn't be that hard to beat: put aaalllloooooottt pressure on him, don't let up for 12rds and you got the fight won. The key is to keep constant pressure on--aka, back up against the ropes, if you let Floyd settle into a groove, especially in the center of the ring, he'll murder you--the ball's no longer in your court, your fighting his fight now.

Devon's a six round fighter man--he'll give you six really good rounds and then he starts to fade a bit... Against Maidana if you fade, you fall..point blank. Devon can box but Maidana's a pretty tough guy bro..

I agree Guzman could be a household name if he was discipline, maybe he is now, we'll see. He has a pure boxer/brawl style that would be too much for Khan..

You're probably right, but Pac's aggressiveness probably was winnning him some rounds that should've gone to Marquez... I scored the fight a split decision (7-5) for Marquez, but was certain--given the boxing politics/economics--that the judges would rule it another draw... Was really surprise by the decision though... biggest robbery i've seen since mayweather/castilloI, de la hoya/quartey and trinidad/de la hoya.

Other than the fact the champ might be a lil' freaky when he's spaced out on drugs/alcohol, those picts have very little meaning. You can't box and be no b*tch--the sports way to dangerous for that sh*t. To all the die-hard fans of boxing, DLH gave us some the best fights of this generation man--never ducked no one. And there's no way in hell he's lost credibility with us--what a boxer does outside the ring is his business anyway. Again as a die-hard fan, I don't give a **** about pictures taken by some money hungry nasty ass little whore. Want to talk credibility, she's the one with the no credibility--you know what she all about... Why would she even post those picts on the web if she wasn't looking to cash in on it? A pure case of a gold digger slut that will stop at nothing to defame the champ man! On the real, Oscar fought every body man...I got a lot respect for that dude...

No really, Guzman had the kind of raw talent to compete and beat any of the elite fighters today--that includes Khan. Things like hand speed/foot speed can't be taught: you either have it or you don't Guzman had both--but he wasn't discipline.
