I normally read your mailbags, and when you are not talking about Future first ballot Hall of Famer Floyd Mayweather, you mostly make sense. My question is how can you in your 3/5/12 mailbag honestly say that Manny Pacquiao has edged Floyd in historical status? Manny has no olympic medal. Manny has losses & draws on his record. Manny has been KOd. As much as you & the Floyd haters would like to dismiss these, they did happen in his pro career. You said he has outperformed him against common opponents, lets start with 1 Oscar De La Hoya. We all know Oscar hadn't fought at 147 in over 6 years. When he fought Floyd he was ring magazine's #1 JMW & he fought at that weight. 2 Ricky Hatton. Ricky was undefeated at the time he fought Floyd. All respectable media outlets had him ranked in the top 10 P4P. And he had already won a world title at 147. Floyd KOd him. At the time he fought Manny he was not undefeated, was not ranked in the top 10 P4P & had already been KOd by Floyd. 3 Juan Manuel Marquez. Many fans believe that JMM won all 3 of his fights against Manny P. He was totally outclassed against a Floyd who was coming off a almost 2 year layoff. At the time Floyd outclassed him he was ranked the #2 figher P4P by most. 4 Shane Mosley. Was outclassed by both guys but did still manage to score a KD against Manny. However when Mosley fought Floyd he was coming off a KO victory of Margarito not a loss & a draw like he was when he fought Manny. If & its a big if Manny manages to beat Tim Bradley it will be the 1st time in his career that he has beaten an undefeated top 10 P4P fighter. Floyd has done it twice (the late great Diego Corrales & Ricky Hatton) all of this while remaining undefeated himself & becoming the 1st fighter to remain undefeated & win world titles in 5 different weight classes. You brought up writers awards to support your argument for Manny (fighter of the decade & fighter of the year awards) are just that, writer awards. I guess you think Steve Nash is better than Kobe, Shaq, Kareem, Scottie Pippen, Isaiah Thomas, etc; because he has won more MVP awards (another writers award). That May is doing all this to get some negative feedback from the media to hype up the fight even more...By the way a friend of mines that does not follow boxing told me today she saw May in Indiana during Superbowl acting like an A**. She saw my profile picture of Cotto/May and automatically mentioned it. Floyd is a marketing genius. People that don't even follow boxing are already lined up to watch him and pray that Cotto beats him.

Anyways when I told him Pac was going to fight Cotto next he was like" Cotto is going to beat him already had a dream about it" . Me and the fam were like F U bro... If u guys are like me then we can agree that boxing needs a major overhaul. We live in the Tech era, we have a lot of power and priviledge now days to use it. We can start a movement and boycott all this nonsense that they keep feeding us. Let's be honest the only reason Boxing Promoters keep cashing out id because WE allow em' too. Today we have FB, Twiter, ect we can start a movement just like some Arab countries (ex Egypt) who came together through FB for their riots. We can spread the word through Social Media that we are tired of making other folks rich who have not given us anything we wanted for quite some time. I was chilling at home and I started watching the current promos for Cotto/Marg 2 and I came across the interview Cotto had on SalSoul after Marg's. He admited that no one from his camp was in the locker room when Marg got his hands wrapped, because Margo's camp didn't send anyone either. Ok so I will like to start with the biggest boxing star I have met in person...for me it was "Macho" Camacho took a pic with him. I was about 15 back then. I also met Edge (WWE) back when I was 11 at the airport in P.R. back then I used to love wrestling. Seen the "Hitman" Hearns at the D. Ok maybe I jumped the gun a bit, but this kid pissed me off talking about Floyd and how great the ko was. He is by no means a true boxing fan, just a nut hugger. You can tell who is and who is not by asking them simple questions that don't involve Pac or May. This is the same kid that bet me$50.00 Shane over Pac (obv I won) So we agreed if it ever happen straight bet $500.00 Pac over May. Jumped the gun a bit by no means will it be an easy fight for either guy but I'm going with Pac. I was undecisive for quite sometime.

I promised myself never to watch a May fight unless he grows a pair and fights Pac. The respect I had for him I completely lost. BTW the only respect I had for him was for his skills inside the ring not as a person. I honestly believe fighters should go to mutual corners before proceding, whatever it is what it is. I think May would of won the fight regardless but his shots were classless and I dont know all the hate for Merchant, I as well as all my Fam love the way Merchant interviews for the most part. Merchant to me voices the people the fans I'm I wrong or what? as far as I recall Merchant always ask the question we the fans want to hear, he does not sugarcoat anything. I will never again watch let alone pay to see May unless he gets in the ring with Pac.
